  • The Chicago Bulls don't deny that they are watching the scoreboard when the Knicks are playing.
The Bulls pulled into a first-place tie with the Knicks in the Eastern Conference tonight when Michael Jordan scored 47 points (on 15-for-25 shooting) along with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals in a 119-105 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Jordan now has scored at least 40 points 14 times this season and 135 times in his eight-year career for the Bulls, who matched the Knicks' 55-22 record when they lost, 100-94, at Indiana.
"We took care of business and the Pacers took care of business also," said Jordan, who left the game early in the 4th quarter when Chicago led Milwaukee by over 20 points.
Jackson was especially pleased with his team's execution against the Bucks.
"I thought our effort was good, except for a stretch there in the fourth quarter, but by then it was already determined," he said. "It was a good game for us."

MJ's 1st quarter in this game is better and more exciting than 99% everyone else's entire season.

the move at 1:35 might be jordan's most beautiful version of the up and under move. There was another one he did in '87 where he switched hands that was also amazing (against the hawks i think) but this one is simply incredible. a step up from Dr. J's famous version of it against the Lakers.

Look at how simple everything is for him. He makes it look so easy. Easily the most effortless scorer in history imo -- he just had all the moves, fakes, and counters. He didn't even break a sweat here and finished with 47/7/5/5 steals on 60% shooting. Thanks for the video.

Tell that to these little kids born past 1990, they think Kobe and LeBron are the best. I grew up watching Jordan so I respect and admire him and I agree with you...hell, I never got to watch Wilt, Russell, Cousy, West, Bernard King, Dr.J, Bird or Magic in their primes, McHale and ext...but I still respect the hell out of them to.

Thanks for the upload! The way MJ can hold the ball in the air with one hand is unhuman. It's like he is toying with the defenders.
BTW I remember Lee Mayberry had a huge dunk that season on one of the NBA Action Top 10 plays of the week. Anyone have that episode?

THESE ARE THE KIND OF GAMES THAT TICKS ME OFF ABOUT MICHAEL JORDAN. LET ME EXPLAIN MYSELF... PEOPLE ALWAYS TALK ABOUT KOBE BEING A BETTER SCORER THAN JORDAN..THAT STUFF IS FLATOUT STUPID. JORDAN HAD SO MANY GAMES WHERE HE COULD HAVE GONE OFF FOR 50, 60 AND MORE, BUT THE BULLS WERE SO GOOD THAT THEY WOULD DOMINATE TEAMS AND BE UP BY 20 OR MORE IN THE 4TH QUATER. JORDAN SAT DOWN WITH A LOT OF TIME REMAINING IN THE GAME WITH 47 POINTS. HE WOULD HAVE EASILY SCORED ABOUT 60 IF HE WANTED TO.

I researched back to 1990-91. Since that time, there have been TWO seasons that ended in a champion that wasn't lead by a definite top 10 player as measured by PER and Win/Share. Those two teams were 03/04 Pistons and 13/14 Spurs. The latter had arguably the greatest coach of all time, and neither of these teams had to take down a team like Golden State to win it all. Do you really think that Jimmy Butler COULD lead the Bulls to becoming the third team in the last 30 years to win without a top 10 talent before he becomes a free agent in two seasons? Even if Gar/Pax made the PERFECT moves to complement Jimmy, including firing Fred and hiring the right coach, there's ZERO chance a Butler lead team is winning a championship or even taking down Lebron in the next two years. At best, they'd be better than mediocre but far short of a title contender, and that's if everything goes right.
Unless you're extremely confident that Butler will sign an extension and recruit an even better talent to Chicago, the Bulls need to start giving themselves a better opportunity to land the next superstar. You do that by stockpiling high draft pics. If the Bulls are offered this year's three, a solid role player, and next year's Laker's pick, they'd be insane to pass. Well, maybe not insane, just content on setting the bar low.
Now, I get that any given high draft pick isn't likely to produce a superstar, but it will be a high draft pick that produces the next superstar. H won't be coming from pick 16. So, again, unless you think the Bulls are going to be able to sign a top 10 player in free agency to pair with Jimmy, then what the hell good does keeping him around do for you if the goal is to win it all?

It's a shame what happened to Ron Huery..so much talent, but yet, his decision making skills were horrible & thus, continuously led him back to the SAME predicaments that led to his demise..

@nbadesirer32 Not one past or present is better than MJ but Kobe is a helluva lot closer than that joke, Lebrick. Give me Kobe in his prime any day of the week over Lebrick. Kobe is far and away a better BASKETBALL player than Lebrick. Being an athlete and being a basketball player are not the same thing (see Larry Bird for clarification).

Earlier this year, he got sentenced to jail for a # of years over domestic abuse & drugs. He beat up some chic he was seeing & the police were called out & he was arrested on that, then got busted a few days later with intent to distribute cocaine in his hometown of memphis..
He SERIOUSLY seemed like he was born with a lack of "ANY" judgement at all..
