Problem with Sub-zero is he can’t zone (ice ball can only punish on read, never reaction), yet has completely unsafe mixups with mediocre damage. Khameleon occasionally makes his slide safe, only if the opponent doesnt make the read and just anti-air. His best button 21 scales unnecessarily unless the opponent is not grounded, and the guy has no confirmable meterless launcher without a kameo. Furthermore, Sub can’t reasonably cash out damage ever unless using Cyrax or some other niche kameo that sacrifices the mix aspect of his gameplay. Other characters can spend all of their bar and kameo to get over 50% while Sub can spend all their bar, kameo, and fatal but still not break 50%. Ice clone gets hard countered by most of the cast without meter, including Kitana’s sweep, Quan Chi’s standing 4, Reptile forceball, etc on reaction. As a matter of fact, Quan Chi’s standing 4 can punish sub zero on hit if sub zero goes into clone after a poke. In addition, most (if not all) armor moves can punish ice klone on reaction, requiring zero read.

With Khameleon he’s mid tier, nothing more nothing less. With any other kameo yeah, he’s bottom 5. All that 50/50 mix people are complaining about is punishable if they over commit. His frames are still garbage, ice clone still sucks, and ice ball is the worst move in the entire game. Plus Deadly Vapors is the worst combo extension in the game. He still has problems that Khameleon just can’t fix. Of course he’s gonna look top tier when you’re fighting braindead bots. It’s the same exact thing with Smoke, of course if you’re fighting people who can’t block he’s gonna look broken.
I feel like if they wanna keep tentacle 2 bar they should make it more damaging,like normal and ex should do 12 percent imstead of 7,so he can have atleast a decent damage for spending 2 bars Also the health buff is neccecary,i will take it if the purple portal gives health Overall he doesnt really have strong zoning
@@jaxfan sub has more mix ups and combo starters than Johnny. Plus his damage is REALLY high if you use the right kameo . So I think sub is good where he is. Baraka is okay , but the last nerf done to him and CYRAX left raka in a bad spot . Hardly any damage to be had. Any thing over 40 I hardly ever see
It’s so frustrating to play against sub and his hide behind the clone bs, really works best with khameleon doe, any other kameo and youre just nerfing yourself

I agree I think he needs the ice ball to be more usefull but I do think he’s better than most

Quan Chi Needs a buff. Better Damage, Faster normals, Bone Cage should be active for 75 and enhanced for 200. Portals should stay open longer.

Lmao his overhead slide cancel isn’t a mixup. It’s either overhead/mid or overhead/low. So you can just block high -> low and it covers both options
