A giant in music and melody who was shunted from the state which he belongs and settled in madras.being the capital of carnatic music reached the heights with name and fame.he refused to sing in andhra so many years.
Of course this rejection by his people made him to reach the heights and obtained various awards and also a chance to head the yearly tyagaraja Jayanti in Thiruvarur which recognition is highest of all awards.

During normal musical renditions, the performers sit on dais and face the audience but in this Thyagaraja Keerthana, the performers too can sit on the side of audience appropriately and face the giant portrait of Lord Sri Ram with Sri Sita and Sri Lakshman on either side. 🌸🙏🙏🙏🌸

@@gops0508 thanks; but 99 percent singers sing as "pakkala", so was wondering which is right. Or are both of them right?

Unfortunately most of the singers including legends did not pay much attention to lyrics and pronunciation.. Dr balamuralikrishna is an exceptional ikon. He renders it with correct meaning and bhava.. this kriti, Tyagaraja is mentioning about the situation of Sita and Lord Rama.. Prakala nilabadi means “staying both sides”... Similar mistake is made by many prominent musicians when they sing “Bantu reethi kolu”. Indeed it’s “bandu reeti koluvu viyavayya Rama”
