Interesting. We were there in January. Luxury side. Ocean view room and everything was pristine. Loved it so much that we're heading back in 9 days.
Thank you for watching and commenting. That's the major difference right there. You stayed over by the luxury side. It is a night and day difference. We did a tour of the luxury side when they were trying to sell us timeshare and the rooms are much clear and nicer.
@@dinextadventure we planned on checking out the grounds of the grand side this time around since we didn't last time. ie:restaurants. Anything specific we should look at?
Thanks for the video. I have stayed there couple times but overtime it is not properly maintained. The area you stayed is the first section built for the hotel and was nice maybe 10 years ago. From your balcony the rooms on the far right are newer. Pretty much the same layout with slightly different finishes inside. The newest addition is the adult only which I never stayed because I go with my family. The food is no longer good (my opinion). There are some formerly staffs though. Not sure if I would go back. Even the nightly entertainment is not as good as years ago. The landscape and scenery is breathtaking though.
We feel the same way regarding going back. We had our little one with us so the luxury side wasn’t an option for us either. Maybe in a few years we can revisit if they continue with the renovations etc.
the luxury side is not run down , one because it do not have kids. All your top shelf drinks included also. why would anyone without kids stay on the Grand side?
Stayed in Bahia Principe grand tulum in Tulum Mexico in September 2021, had ocean view going to Bahia Principe grand Jamaica in Aug 2022 & I chose Seaview I realized that the Seaview is way better than ocean views.

well if you stay in the Grand , you get what you payoff as that side allow kids. if you want a nice stay you have to pay the few more hundred to stay away from the kids.

this guy went cheap then complaining. Boss man you got what you paid for.. See people have to spend the few more dollars for comfort, guess what you get to enjoy the amenities on both luxury and grande. all liquors are included and gratuity .

How was the food here?
A lot of food and variety. However, it is nothing to write home about. Some items were horrible and some were just OK. Nothing really to blow you away but I promise you that there is something for everyone. You will find something you like.
Do you work at the Rui?
No. Lol. Why would you think that? We are just a family that travels a lot. We visit hotels all over the world and decided to start doing some tours and reviews. Thank you for watching.
That sofa cushion is disgusting though, it CAN be rectified. I guess cleaning staff don't care, in which case, there needs to be a shake up. Even if it has been reported, and response is in the pipeline, the room shouldn't be occupied until it's done.
My thoughts exactly, Steven. There is no excuse for that. I reported the things. That's the most I could do.

5 star property potential but between dated furniture and issues with repairs . An example is running toilets in several rooms locks that breakdown again in too many rooms . The fact you might have ask more than once to fix these problems is frustrating.
Generally the staff try hard, but even here there needs to better training.
I asked for a cup of coffee in the buffet and was told by a young man that it would take 5 to 10 minutes to get the coffee.I never got the cup.

Well guys, been there last week and I was truly disappointed, everything was bad, not only that , someone stole my nieces credit card and they tried to spend $3000 on it but the credit card company called her to verify the purchase and that’s how she knew,the pool was nice the food was not, the curtains were dirty we had to walk around with our passports and money because we were afraid of losing them, the safe didn’t work and I could say much more don’t go there, you could find nicer hotels to go to, awful, awful food

I did speak to management and they said you are usually a good worker. So, don't take it personal. We know this is below your standards. Thanks for stopping by. I believe you may be referring to our other video with the pros and cons. If so, we mentioned both positives and negatives. We had no intention to go looking for faults. There were lots of positives but because we saw so many things that needed improvement, we decided to make that video.

We are so sorry that you had a horrible experience. We did do a small tour of the luxury side and the only difference we saw with the rooms was the color scheme. Otherwise, they are the same and not worth it. Nevertheless, thank you for watching.

Good day. We booked on Expedia. You can try compare pricing on the hotel’s website as well. It really depends on the time of year you book, how far in advance and the type of room you select. I’d suggest just going online and enter the dates you want to travel and see what works out cheaper. We have more videos on the property.
