Just wanted to say thank you so much guys. Currently recovering from a double lung surgery and been stuck inside in some pain for the last month. This series has been a real treat, so sad to see it end soon. Feel I'm living it all through the two of you!!!
I hope you feel better soon.
All the best friend.
Thank you so much! Get well soon!
Thankyou all ☺️
I hope you get better soon! I know how you feel, I was in the hospital with sepsis, and was clinically dead...they had to revive me. It also cost me half of my right leg. I'll live vicariously through Shawn and Charlotte with you!
9:29 Firebird is B&M’s very first stand up coaster. It was originally at Six Flags Great America and called Iron Wolf and featured in the movie “Richie Rich.” 👍🏼
It was great to ride the original B&M!
35:55 Black squirrels are very common in the northern States here in America. And they’re much smarter than other squirrels. 😂
Loving this series Shawn & Charlotte. It's sad your wrapping up this soon 😢
Thank you! One more vlog to come from this epic adventure!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide Are you excited to see the new Nemesis track when you return?
I’ve been waiting for this. My local park isn’t much, but it’s something. Agreed the whole thing could use some work. Hopefully things continue to pick up.
Fun fact: It actually originally opened in 1974 as an animal safari park before switching to an amusement park.
Thanks for sharing!
So many theme parks to explore, it's great that you guys give everybody else the opportunity to explore them with you! Hopefully you've both enjoyed it as much as we have watching!!
I know how knackered I was after only a couple of days at Disney World last August. God knows how you stay so up for it and positive for your trip. Fair play.
Huge thanks for these Road Trip Vlogs. I have followed the channel for years and the content has always been great, however, this series has been an absoloute joy. The two of you have done an amazing job of conveying each park the highs and lows. Sad to see this trip coming to an end, but looking forward to whatever, you do in the future. Thanks again.
Thank you so much!
Hi shawn and Charlotte, I always enjoy your enthusiasm for parks that aren't that great . This park really needs updating it's a shame it's not so good . Thanks for all your hard work you have done over the past month. Bringing us these fun filled days with such great enthusiasm. Love you both you always make me smile 😊. Thanks for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Hi tysm Shawn and Charlotte for coming to this six flags love it I’ve been going there since it open the scenario right now is under maintenance because they are adding a new water ride and a new roller coaster to that side of the theme park and the rides are only bumpy and rickety because of how long they’ve been running for. But I would give them a thumbs up but I agree with the bat wing bc a girl got her hair caught on that ride before and the little play area you saw is play are for the little ones there are remodeling it to have more rides for them an yes they did have Thomas and friends there along time ago it was all fun when it was open but hope you had a wonderful day there 🥰
I lost it when they started singing "It's Raining Men".
🤣
I can’t believe this trip is coming to an end! It’s been really fun to watch you guys experience many new things for the first time. Can’t wait for Great Adventure tomorrow!
We’ve had such a fun adventure!
Can’t believe it’s coming to an end. One more to go. 😭😭😭 brilliant series. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
One more vlog left from this epic trip!
Well done Charlotte, I can't believe you did all 3 water rides ! Stay safe guys. xx
You called Firebird (Iron Wolf) just mediocre, however did not mention that its historical because it was the first coaster made by B&M as their own company. Its not only the first official B&M but it also kick started the Jim Wintrode / B&M love affair which led to him buying their first invert as well as first hyper coaster (tied with Apollo's Chariot which was built at the same time but opened first since Viriginia is a warmer climate).
Also the most interesting thing about this park is that its THE stereotype for the Kieran Burke/Gary Story era of Six Flags management, where they bought a lot of parks and just slapped a bunch of big coasters and expansions in with no thought or long-term planning whatsoever. Nowhere is this more evident than at SFA where there is a long, narrow, unthemed walkway that goes to Superman and Batwing and then just randomly dead ends. Also the irony that this park is called Six Flags America and two of its coasters are hand me downs from Great America (Iron Wolf and Ragin Cajun).
Excellent point of view!
Thanks for sharing! It was great to ride the original B&M!
500 views in 10 minutes 👏 .....clearly loved by many ..... keeeeep on possssttttiiinnnng 😊
Thanks for a very fair and accurate vlog about SFA, being my home park and having attended the park since the mid 80's it indeed has had some good and bad history. Operationally it's doing well, but as you mentioned there are parts of the park this year that indeed look abandoned. Hopefully there is a plan to revitalize the park and make it worth the support of the millions of people within a 90 min drive. Thanks to you two, and soeey no water rides were open :)
Thank you!
You can now say you rode the very first B&M roller coaster in the world with Firebird 😂....I rode it as Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America and yes, their first coaster ever, so obviously it wasn't that great. It was rough as a standup.
Edit: The original Superman layout is found at Six Flags Darien Lake and Six Flags America cloned it (mirrored layout). I have been on the superman at SF Darien lake more times than I could count and always thought it was a good coaster. The layout of it makes sense if you rode the one at Darien lake because that long straight track section actually goes over water, while the one at SF America just has a grassfield. The superman at SFNE is completely different. Taller, faster, much different layout and a better ride, but what hurts it is the Ubrick restraint they use on it. The two superman clones have the better lap bar restraint and is a much more enjoyable ride.
I can’t wait to visit it
Congrats 354 thousand subscribers guys again ten out of ten best vlogs ever
Thank you so much!
As a lot of people mentioned here, Six Flags America is the park the Six Flags tends to ignore. The last non relocated coaster was Batwing in 2001, and the most recent coaster they got was Ragin' Cajun in 2014. It also gets low attendance due to bigger, better parks surround it (Hersheypark, King's Dominion, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg). Most people who live in Maryland usually go to one of those three parks instead.
Love this park! I love your channel Shaun + Charlotte❤❤❤.
so happy for the povs, this was enjoyable
We had a fun visit!
The sad thing about this is that park has so much potential… They can collect patrons from so many different areas around including large metropolitan areas. Six flags just really doesn’t care about that park. Again, it could be so amazing… It’s pretty sad. I make sure I get there when I can to support them because at least the employees are nice.
They do have so much potential here
Its actual location near the city works against it. This is one of those parks that had become a day-care center for unattended teenagers with the cheap seasons passes. They've had numerous security issues and near riots out in the parking lot. Most people from the near suburbs go to Hershey or Kings Dominion. Yes, the Whistlestop Junction area was open last year. No reason why it closed...probably staffing since they had two kids area. Strange since that area was the newer of the two. Be thankful the SLC is closed, though.
Thank you for excellent vlogs. You two make a good team, well-shot videos and informative narrative. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Got some major Happy Valley vibes from this vlog! Closing a coaster so they can cut the grass sounds like something they'd do, too! 😅
Amazing videos! My whole family of five love you! Keep it up! 🤩
Thank you!
Superman looked good but if I'm being honest this was one of the few parks this trip that did not excite me. I think without some major changes and additions I would skip this one. However, I would say seeing the majority of the other parks on this trip that I have not been to really excited me to go and try them. In particular I'm already planning trips to: Silver Dollar City, Carowinds (once Fury reopens), Hershey Park, Kennywood and Knobels.
Sending you both some shine
Awesome Video Guys
Fab as always guys had slot in this week but was determined to catch up with you guys today had to smoke at the best winner makes you wonder what a runner up would have been like I'm do glad you got to do your rides yes that park does need some attention and I have enjoyed the official coaster vids but not a patch on hearing you both experiencing them cant believe how quick it's past what an adventure for you both look firward to next one hope you didnt get too wet thankyou xx
Thanks for watching!
"Can you get black squirrels?" 😆..Yes we have black ones here.. 😂
Hate to see this trip come to an end. Looking forward to the Great Adventure vlog!
One more vlog to come!
I really love the pacing on those Premier launched coasters. I rode one at Fiesta Texas. Really awesome pacing. Like, once you're at the top of the spaghetti bowl and start going down, it picks up speed, then slows, then picks up more, slows etc. Great sense of progression.
They are great fun!
New subscriber!! Love you guys!!
Thank you!
I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute of your USA vlogs from start to finish Thank you so much for sharing I value admire you both sharing your thoughts experiences opinions and ideas from your road trip 🎉very impressed totally successfully succeeded my expectations
Thank you so much!
Firebird was Iron Wolf at six flags Great America back in the day.. Opened in 1990!! Thx for showing this I wondered where that coaster went!!
That wonky support on Firebird was there in the Iron Wolf days too. Would love to know the story behind it. I can't imagine it's much better as a floorless but it was truly *brutal* as a standup.
I want to say Ragin Cajun was the first of those spinning mouse coasters to be built by Zamperla.
Can confirm, there are black squirrels in the US. My college was full of them!
Love these big American theme parks
Thank you both for the amazing vlogs throughout your US road trip. It’s been amazing and as always, so much work has been put into it, it is so appreciated by me and the rest of your viewers.
As for the animal you saw. I know if Canada they have black squirrels so it is possible that is what you saw
Thank you so much!
Wow, that park definitely needs some help. So odd that big areas with rides are closed off without any noticeable work being done. I hope they spruce it up & bring some life back into it. So glad the weather held off long enough for y'all to get all of the main rides in & that there were at least a couple of high quality coasters.
Thank you for your hard work. We have in Western New York Six Flags Darien Lake and as you know we have the ride of steel which is the same ride as Superman ride of steel. Its the same ride but instead of a right turn you have a left turn. Please consider coming to Western New York on your next American trip.
Love all your videos❤❤❤
Hey Shawn and Charlotte I have been loving this series. Today I have got a cold and this video has made me smile 😁 thank you. I am currently on holiday in the UK in Cornwall and we are 1hour and a half away from Flambards so we might be going there at some point with the dog.
Thank you!
Great second to last Vlog of your incredible month long USA 🇺🇸 road trip Shawn and Charlotte. Looking forward to the final Vlog of the trip on this channel and on the Sanbrooke Adventures as well
Thank you!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide you’re welcome
That park looked sad. Thanks again for the vlog!
It really needs some major TLC
You guys will have to come back to the US to check out Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas
love all the woodies on the tour they look fantastic brilliant vlog
So many awesome wooden coasters this trip!
What theme park has been you favourite in this USA road trip so far?
Silver Dollar City!
I visited and vlogged this last year, and it’s crazy just how much they’ve closed in one year. There’s also a rapids in that Wild West area (which, as you said, is the best themed area). I called it the park with no soul haha 😂 glad you got the major stuff done!
Let’s hope they can sort this area out!
@@ThemeParkWorldwideThey better or it will be CLOSED.😢
The "corn" at 11:50 looks like giant reed grass. Has a similar appearance but gets much taller.
The rock work aside the queue for Firebird used to be part of a pirate themed water ride. It was called Typhoon Sea Coaster and truly a gem at Six Flags America. It's really a shame the park took it out and while I'm glad they brought the OG B&M to my local park, it's unfortunate that it was at the expense of TSC.
That ride WAS such a gem!
@@takeaguess08 it really was! It was so well themed. Really a shame it's gone
I had a great experience at this park back in 2019!
Yes we do not have fond memories of Iron Wolf. The stand up coaster from my home park SFGA that is now Firebird. Everyone always got off with a headache!
Interestingly enough, the Ferris Wheel located in the currently abandoned Thomas Train section of the park, used to be located in that front area of the park where you acknowledged the sign. The Western section is indeed a major section of the park with four rides there. SFA closed off the section for staffing reasons, to align with the operation budget. SFA has had its better days but has come a long way since its days as Wild World, its original identity. This was the first park I encountered as a water park with flat rides. It definitely has had a colorful history, from its transition to Adventureland, through the present under the Six Flags umbrella.
The cafeteria im screaming 😂
It was so bad 😂
My old job Six Flags New England it’s about the same as Maryland. You won’t be hitting up my neck of the woods but that’s a good thing because then you can make your next trip a Northern trip to New England, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont to upper state NY and Canada 🇨🇦
Yeah Shawn and Charlotte this park was much busiest back in 2019 when I went. They had a huge railway called capital railways and the kids area was called whistle stop park. It had a miniature train ride as well but they couldn’t run both trains at the same time
ROAR lol I love the colour on Firebird like the orange on the hot wheels toy track :) Glad you got on Superman ! yes squirrels can be black ;)
Firebird track colour is awesome!
One of the best coaster rides I ever had was on The Wild One, it was just starting to downpour when we left the station....made the ride kinda crazy! lol
But the best ride in the park is Superman, some make fun of that straight track, but I find it unique. It's like you are flying as superman lol
Looking up to The wild one coaster reminds me of the episode of the simpsons where marge builds the zoominator coaster 😆 great vlog guys
S18 E3. I just watched it 😂😂😂
wild one
Hello,I'm new to your channel, and I love what you guys do,keep up the good work😀..six flags America used to be my home park, now my home park is Hershey park.🥰🥰🥰
The original Superman is in Darien lake, it flows over the lake which is the reason for the low to the ground straight track. But these two parks are very similiar, bare minimum, hay day in the late 90’s early 2000’s. Big concert venue though
Thanks for sharing!
I was debating whether to go here or not, but I think I wanna go here now. The video was really good and it's not like only coasters and rides like other videos. It covers the overall park and scenery too. Anyways, good video!
"Carpool Karaoke" at 36:59 is so entertaining!
Apparently they changed Thomas Town to Whistlestop Park but they closed it off for this year in addition to the Coyote Creek western themed area where the SLC is, probably due to decreased attendance.
The Roar and the Wild one were so rough last time we were there I think we needed a chiropractor when we left that day! That park is just not taken care of. It's so sad! That used to be our park. We had season passes there for years and loved it and then a few years before Covid they just totally stopped taking care of it and then Covid only made it worse. They may have staff but they are not having the staff do anything half the time or taking care of the rides so that the staff can run them.
Hopefully they’ll be bake to improve this park in the near future
Don't forget to go to Magic Springs theme park in Hot Springs Arkansas it has a coaster I think you'll find interesting
Sorry for delay watching I’ve been in hospital. Shame bout weather glad you got on all coasters 1 park to go 😢😢😢😢 so sad been an awesome trip. ❤Lisa awesome video guys
Get well soon!
I can imagine that I would like Batwing because I am also a fan of the Zamperla Volare type roller coaster, something that many fans detest. I think roughness is just like an adventure that you experience in these kinds of roller coasters. I wouldn't be angry if Walibi Belgium, my home park, decides to bring this to us. Anyway, thank you for once again a great review.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
There used to be another Harley Quinn ride in America. It was a coaster which only lasted a few months. The structure literally shook like a leaf every time a train went through. The company tried packing sand into the support structure which helped some but the coaster gave up during a test run and collapsed spectacularly. The coaster was quickly removed from the site and the ground left until a new ride went in.
I think you are thinking of the Harley Quinn ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, that thing (as well as all other skyline rides) was trash.
that area hat was closed down, was reopnened. it is called steamtown and has skywinder, and other rides.
Shawn and Charlotte,
Should be called Sick Flags America ,too bad!
It need a LOT of repair and the should open those western theme area,
I guess the staff is short.
This makes the best ones look even better:)
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Love the colour scheme of the track and supports 3:28
It’s beautiful
Hey so glad you came down but seems like you came on a weekday in June. Attendance levels are always low mostly through out the week and depending on how early in June you went most of the dmv area may still be in school (most didn’t get out of school till jun 13-15)
Superman definitely wasn’t closed due to cutting grass as that happens regularly with the ride open. It was down for typical morning maintenance stuff and they just so happened to be cutting the grass at the same time lol. Even though it’s partially the park major depending on what happens during inspection sometimes it makes more sense to use resources to get 5 rides open then spend all of them on one.
This park gets busy on the weekends with at times very long lines however usually everything is open in the morning. Due to covid tho and long shipping delays some rides aren’t able to get the parts they need like Zydeco(pronounced Zy-deck-o lol)
Overall glad u had a fun time at the park and got everything in
We had a great time!
I for one love the vekoma flying Dutchman models. It's unfortunate that they are maintenance nightmares.
2:15 is that storm surge at Thorpe Park?
It is!
You guys have now been on the original B&M coaster.
It was great to ride!
Firebird was the 1st B&M ever
It was great to ride it!
Hi Shawn and Charlotte, Great vlog as always. I have a question for you guys, What is your favourite usa theme park you've been to this trip?
Silver Dollar City!
welcome to Maryland
SFA was always a stop for a few coasters and a meal plan purchase on the way to KD for me. The water park gets busy in the summer and it gets busy around Halloween, but other than that, it's usually fairly quiet. SFA doesn't get a whole lot of love from SF corporate, as it's annually a low revenue producer. I always enjoyed my visits there, but it's easily a few hour park and that's it.
Thanks for sharing!
Love the series shame it's finishing Shawn and Charlotte love very one never miss one of them I been watching for 7 years now keep up the good work 🌹🌹🌹💜💜💜💜
Thank you!
Great coverage folks!! Terribly sorry about this park. Except for Superman, this Park is the island of misfit rides. It’s a local park for me, but we only go to Kings dominion, Busch gardens, or Hershey Park.
Jeez. I definitely wont be rushing to come here any time soon. Or ever
It wasn’t great unfortunately
This looks like a fun park! I heard there are a lot of similarities with Calif "Great America" which used to be a nice park the first 20 years or so that it was opened (I worked there in college). Sadly, the CA park is closing soon as it's been allowed to get kind of run down. Still, I'm hoping to visit before they close just for old times sake. OH- by the way, you mentioned a black squirrel? They do exsist here in the U.S., the ones out in CA are called "minky" squirrels, pretty much just like a grey squirrel, but very dark brown/black. Just looked it up, and they are more generally called "black squirrels," and they are indeed a grey squirrel that is melanisitc, so it's a color variation!
You guys did very well at this park. It is notorious for having the worst guest behavior of all 6 Flags parks such as line jumping, fights and it being so close to Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens ... it doesn't get a lot of love. I still love the Wild One, I've never saw it repainted in close to 20 years! Big Bear is rumored to be on the RMC rebuild list soon so maybe they can get some business back?? Good job again guys!!
We had a decent day, glad we got everything in!
Thanks
Thank you so much!
We need a compilation of all of Charlottes dances haha.
The Superman ride here is a mirrored clone of the one at Darien Lake, which has its straight track moment triumphantly over the lake. Very odd visually here though!
Thanks for sharing, I’d like to visit Darien Lake at some point!
At the end of this series we need a video on the highlights of the 25 parks, ie: fave park, fave ride or fave woody/coaster/flat/water ride, best food, best location, best staff 🎉❤
Our highlight video will be coming up!
Is Roar the oldest operating GCI now, with Wildcat and the other Roar being RMC'd? That would give them both the oldest B&M and the oldest remaining GCI. And a clone of the oldest Intamin Hyper. Combined with a historic woodie and one of the last Flying Dutchmen (and I expect this one to stick around for longer than the Carowinds one will), it's a bit of a museum park.
Brilliant video
Thanks!
My home park is sad, we just consider Hershey our home park it's an extra 30 mins away but worth it. Only good thing about this park is its usually empty, but there's a reason for that.
If I were in charge of Six Flags I would make it a goal to make Six Flags Amercia a world class park by the United States 250th Birthday on July 4th 2026.
That would be great!
Superman Ride of Steel was my 200th coaster
It really looks depressing how this park is left … I hope they put some decent effort into fixing it up
Hi i saw you today in uttoxeter by the card factory and we had a little convo 😄
Thanks for watching!
You are both looking very "not tired" considering this is the 24th park!!!!
We managed to stay pretty good this trip thanks to good planning and plenty of sleep!
