The best villains are the ones where you can see their point of view, when they’re very morally grey and sometimes have a better point than the hero, but they’re hurting people in the process
In my opinion its getting overused to the point that pure evil villains are actually being praised to being added. One of these examples is Jack Horner.

What's so appealing about these types of playlists is although I know I would never be cruel or evil in the traditional sense as I care too much, it's a sort of cathartic experience knowing that you _could_ be powerful and mean and cruel if you wanted and being able to pretend that you _are_ like that, even for just 48 minutes, is freeing.

For me it’s the weird thing that kind of just appeals to the darker side of my nature. In general I’d say I’m pretty compassionate, but at the same time I don’t care about people at all. It’s like two sides of my own personality it’s so strange. Naturally, I show the kinder side to basically everyone, while hiding my more cruel side. It kinda sucks because I only really feel like half of myself most of the time because I repress one part or the other because they’re so different. Plus, considering the kind of advanced society we have now, showing anything other than the kind side would possibly attract lots of negative attention, that is seen as positive. For example, wanting me to go to a mental hospital because my thought process is concerning, which is harmful to me but they see it as helping or smth. Either way playlists like these just appeal to that part of me and I like having an outlet for that

A really long POV: You were on your knees in the middle of the battlefield. His sword was on your neck and you could see the pure hatred in his eyes. He didn’t just need to kill you… He wanted to. It amused you really, how he believed everything his precious heroes told him. That you were the one that killed his sister. Now, come on, why would you waste your precious time on killing a useless girl? “Any last words?” he asked you, ready to strike. The venom in his voice appeared and you could no longer hold in your laugh. He looked at you questionably and gripped the sword tighter. You didn’t stop laughing. “Why are you laughing?” he yelled, pressing the sword further into your neck, drawing out blood. “It’s just-” your words died in your throat when a laugh once again emitted from you. “You’re even stupider than the others! Really naive…” you tsked. Both of you didn’t notice, but the people fighting had stopped and were now overhearing and watching the conversation. In anger he slashed you with the sword on your cheek, leaving a deep wound that would no question leave a big scar. “I. Am. Not. Stupid.” he told you leaning over you. “What do you mean ‘naive’?” His symbolic white hair that everyone could recognize was stained with dark crimson blood, while his sky blue eyes were burning with the deep desire for revenge. His armor was torn and burned. He had a lot of wounds, but you knew that wouldn’t slow him down even a second. “You don’t know?” you asked innocently, while a smile took its place on your lips. “Don’t listen to her, H/N!” you heard one of the heroes shout, who was laying on the ground, bloody and beaten. He hesitated for a moment, glancing at the hero’s way, but he still turned toward you. “What do you mean?” “What did they tell you about me?” you asked him, your eyes shining with delight when you noticed the heroes’ panicked expressions. He met your gaze and his shoulders tensed. “They told me that you were the enemy. That you have killed thousands without mercy and that you killed my sister.” You expected that they would tell him something like that, but ‘killed thousands without mercy’? “So I have killed thousands huh?” you said amused while glancing at the heroes who were pale and trembling. “That’s a little overdramatic, don’t you think?” He didn’t answer. “Well, let me tell you something.” you leaned toward him, while his sword dug in your neck once again. “I have killed people, yes. But, none of them were innocent. And I. Didn’t. Kill. Your. Sister.” He froze on the spot and his eyes widened. He gritted his teeth and slashed your other cheek. “Liar.” You hissed in pain but nonetheless didn’t back down. You spit blood on the ground and met his gaze. “What benefit would I get from killing your sister?” “So, what? You’re saying that my sister wasn’t murdered?” he asked ignoring the question completely as he let out a humorless laugh. “You burned down the building. You killed her.” You met the gaze of the heroes and you huffed entertained. “Really?! You said that I burned down the building?” The heroes exchanged panicked glances. “We all know that that’s the cowardly way of killing someone.” You turned toward H/N and smiled. “And I am no coward.” “Just tell me what you are trying to say!” “They burned down the building.” His eyes widened and he dropped the sword. He turned toward the heroes only to find them pale and sweating. He scoffed, though you could see that he was hesitant. “Yeah- yeah, right. And why should I believe you?” “There were dangerous and powerful people living in your building that threatened the heroes’ lives. They needed to eliminate them. And what better way than to burn down the building? All in one place.” you said. “Don’t you get it?! They. Don’t. Care. About. Others.” He gripped his hair in frustration and you knew that expression. The one when you realize they have lied to you. “How would you know?” “Because, darling… I was a hero once too.”

The fact that we instinctively flock to aesthetics of "evil" is fucked up, to be honest. It's like we've been villainized for so long that we've naturally evolved to think of ourselves that way, positive or not it's probably not healthy and definitely not originally from anything good.
I have a playlist called "This evokes a sense of Viliainous Bliss" which had a few of these songs in it already. Definitely adding a few more to it now.
@@Ardorstorm Queer people are usually the outcasts that try to hide a major part of themselves for years until they finally just give up and start showing it, similar to a lot of villains. Then there is also the fact that for decades villains were usually the only queer characters. People used to misunderstand us and be scared of us, so of course we'd sympathize with more or less classic types of villains... It's sad, but honestly, I like it.
Well we're always portrayed as villains or demons in the eyes of others, so when they make a villain they have only so much to work with because they believe that something they don't agree with is wrong and not just another way of view. We're not evil or demons or villains because who we love or what we identify as, but those other people don't see that so we all have a point in our life where we either say "I'll play by your rules then.." and submit to them, or we say, "Fine, you want a villain? A demon? Someone to blame? Then here I am, don't expect me to apologize anymore, I'm not sorry!".

That's what you want?" A falter now appeared in the mercenary's expression. "I've seen all you've done. You are just as mad as he is." "Perhaps," the shadowed figure inches forward, never letting her sword leave it's position an inch away from the mercenary's neck, and, strangely, the mercenary moved back to match, "but at the very least, I am free." The mercenary could see her face now, a sliver band of moonlight illuminating golden skin, midnight black hair, molten brown eyes. "I do hope we meet again, Araya of Utratia." The hooded figure got one last look of wide, dark brown eyes, equally dark skin and braided hair, before she pulled a small cylinder from her sleeve, threw it to the ground, and vanished into night and smoke. __ "You're a bit late tonight, ey Saryu?" She rolled her eyes as she took of the long cloak, revealing her sword's scabbard, her belt of knives and her revolver. "I got sidetracked." She tossed the cloak onto the bar stool beside her. "By a pretty lady no doubt?" The man behind the counter asked with a smirk and a laugh. "By a new recruit." "A new recruit who's also a pretty lady?" "Mind your own business Sano, which, unless I'm mistaken, consists of quite the stable hand?" A blush spread over the tall man's face, and he muttered back, "you got the information, yes?" She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Of course, I'm not incompetent." And if Saryu dreamed of ebony skin and braided hair, then no one but herself had to know. She was a free woman, after all. __ Araya stood steadfastly before the the massive metal doors, her armour and blades glinting in candlelight. Four faceless guards, as dangerous as herself, stood on either side of the doors. She steeled herself as the metal began to slide open, revealing a massive room, and the sole occupant, a lone man, hair and skin as pale as the moonlight streaming through the massive windows. "You did not bring the target." Araya refused to flinch. She would not show fear. "I saw movement in an alleyway, in the area your majesty told me to search. I attacked and investigated, but did not find a trace of any people. The movement matched descriptions of the target, and what I could see of the movement matched the height of the suspect. That was my only lead." A long silence filled the air, crushing her with its weight. "I expect the target to be eliminated soon. I'm sure you understand the value of this mission. To all parties." She swallowed. "Of course your majesty. Thank you for your mercy." And if that night, she dreamed of golden skin and raven hair, nobody would ever know. After all, a whisper could get you killed.

All I can hear is the sound of footsteps accompanied by hooves. That worries me. “You can’t run from me.” Arcane, her only purpose in life is to kill me. Hearing the sound of something coming towards me. I panicked and so did the horse. An arrow shot through the horse's ear, It panicked even more. This time making me fall on my injured leg. "Gotcha.” I heard that overly familiar voice of the hooded person say. Too much was happening and causing me to forget about my leg, and worry about her. She picked me up just to shove me against a tree, my back facing her. Feeling the cold steel of her dagger on my neck. “How are you today, my rag doll.” As she spoke, I felt something trickle down my neck, slowly. I realized that her dagger had punctured the skin under my ear. I heard shouting in the distance, I could tell that she heard them too. “They followed me.” I grinned weakly. “Ugh, I should’ve known.” Arcane spoke under her breath. Five men on horses appeared. “Miss Arcane, on behalf of the king orders and the princesses safety. Drop your weapon, and step towards us.” The first man spoke, detaining Arcane. She looked at me and smirks, I didn't know most of her tricks but this knew this one. Arcane laid hunched over on the captains horse with chains around her ankles and wrists. "Can I please have some water." She barked, She was going to escape I knew it. I was wrong. Horribly wrong.

@@tavi265 The 4th quote makes sense in a fiction and history standpoint. Let's say that the villain here is the antagonist and not the protagonist (which tends to happen in fiction). An antagonist is, by definition, someone who greatly opposes a situation or idea and is willing to change said situation. In real life history, a protagonist ( a.k.a the status quo) has to win multiple times against the multiple antagonists in order to keep the status quo. If one of the antagonists wins, a change happens, so they don't need to win anymore.
Is just me or I like cleaning my room while imagining I’m the heir to the throne in a world where everything was messed up like everyone is racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc so I run away and become the villain and then the chosen one is supposed to kill me but instead falls in love with me and we try to make the world right with my own followers? UPDATE: I'm writing this into a story. I'll be on Wattpad and Ao3. It's taking me some time to develop the fantasy world, the rules and the characters but after that the first two chapters will be up. What's so appealing about these types of playlists is although I know I would never be cruel or evil in the traditional sense as I care too much, it's a sort of cathartic experience knowing that you _could_ be powerful and mean and cruel if you wanted and being able to pretend that you _are_ like that, even for just 48 minutes, is freeing.

I think the best kind of villains are the ones who don't want to be or don't think they are.
For me it’s the weird thing that kind of just appeals to the darker side of my nature. In general I’d say I’m pretty compassionate, but at the same time I don’t care about people at all. It’s like two sides of my own personality it’s so strange. Naturally, I show the kinder side to basically everyone, while hiding my more cruel side. It kinda sucks because I only really feel like half of myself most of the time because I repress one part or the other because they’re so different. Plus, considering the kind of advanced society we have now, showing anything other than the kind side would possibly attract lots of negative attention, that is seen as positive. For example, wanting me to go to a mental hospital because my thought process is concerning, which is harmful to me but they see it as helping or smth. Either way playlists like these just appeal to that part of me and I like having an outlet for that

In his neglect, the man became his own worst nightmare under the blinding light blared by the hero, casting his own greatest shadow. He tries his best to convince his former ally- nay... his greatest ally... yet all his reasonings fell when that man uttered, "You had your chance." With a heavy heave, he knew he was too late... he hoisted his blade and pointed it at the face who he once would rely everything on, never once realizing the titanic burden that smile of his held. You were on your knees in the middle of the battlefield. His sword was on your neck and you could see the pure hatred in his eyes. He didn’t just need to kill you…
He wanted to.
It amused you really, how he believed everything his precious heroes told him. That you were the one that killed his sister. Now, come on, why would you waste your precious time on killing a useless girl?
“Any last words?” he asked you, ready to strike. The venom in his voice appeared and you could no longer hold in your laugh. He looked at you questionably and gripped the sword tighter.
You didn’t stop laughing.
“Why are you laughing?” he yelled, pressing the sword further into your neck, drawing out blood.
“It’s just-” your words died in your throat when a laugh once again emitted from you. “You’re even stupider than the others! Really naive…” you tsked.
Both of you didn’t notice, but the people fighting had stopped and were now overhearing and watching the conversation.
In anger he slashed you with the sword on your cheek, leaving a deep wound that would no question leave a big scar.
“I. Am. Not. Stupid.” he told you leaning over you. “What do you mean ‘naive’?”
His symbolic white hair that everyone could recognize was stained with dark crimson blood, while his sky blue eyes were burning with the deep desire for revenge. His armor was torn and burned. He had a lot of wounds, but you knew that wouldn’t slow him down even a second.
“You don’t know?” you asked innocently, while a smile took its place on your lips.
“Don’t listen to her, H/N!” you heard one of the heroes shout, who was laying on the ground, bloody and beaten.
He hesitated for a moment, glancing at the hero’s way, but he still turned toward you. “What do you mean?”
“What did they tell you about me?” you asked him, your eyes shining with delight when you noticed the heroes’ panicked expressions.
He met your gaze and his shoulders tensed. “They told me that you were the enemy. That you have killed thousands without mercy and that you killed my sister.”
You expected that they would tell him something like that, but ‘killed thousands without mercy’?
“So I have killed thousands huh?” you said amused while glancing at the heroes who were pale and trembling. “That’s a little overdramatic, don’t you think?”
He didn’t answer.
“Well, let me tell you something.” you leaned toward him, while his sword dug in your neck once again. “I have killed people, yes. But, none of them were innocent. And I. Didn’t. Kill. Your. Sister.”
He froze on the spot and his eyes widened. He gritted his teeth and slashed your other cheek. “Liar.”
You hissed in pain but nonetheless didn’t back down. You spit blood on the ground and met his gaze. “What benefit would I get from killing your sister?”
“So, what? You’re saying that my sister wasn’t murdered?” he asked ignoring the question completely as he let out a humorless laugh. “You burned down the building. You killed her.”
You met the gaze of the heroes and you huffed entertained. “Really?! You said that I burned down the building?” The heroes exchanged panicked glances. “We all know that that’s the cowardly way of killing someone.” You turned toward H/N and smiled. “And I am no coward.”
“Just tell me what you are trying to say!”
“They burned down the building.”
His eyes widened and he dropped the sword. He turned toward the heroes only to find them pale and sweating.
He scoffed, though you could see that he was hesitant. “Yeah- yeah, right. And why should I believe you?”
“There were dangerous and powerful people living in your building that threatened the heroes’ lives. They needed to eliminate them. And what better way than to burn down the building? All in one place.” you said. “Don’t you get it?! They. Don’t. Care. About. Others.”
He gripped his hair in frustration and you knew that expression. The one when you realize they have lied to you. “How would you know?”
“Because, darling…

I basically just took songs I already had downloaded and put them in and order I thought might have told a story
The fact that we instinctively flock to aesthetics of "evil" is fucked up, to be honest. It's like we've been villainized for so long that we've naturally evolved to think of ourselves that way, positive or not it's probably not healthy and definitely not originally from anything good.
I have a playlist called "This evokes a sense of Viliainous Bliss" which had a few of these songs in it already.
Definitely adding a few more to it now.

Then there is also the fact that for decades villains were usually the only queer characters.
People used to misunderstand us and be scared of us, so of course we'd sympathize with more or less classic types of villains...
It's sad, but honestly, I like it.
Well we're always portrayed as villains or demons in the eyes of others, so when they make a villain they have only so much to work with because they believe that something they don't agree with is wrong and not just another way of view. We're not evil or demons or villains because who we love or what we identify as, but those other people don't see that so we all have a point in our life where we either say "I'll play by your rules then.." and submit to them, or we say, "Fine, you want a villain? A demon? Someone to blame? Then here I am, don't expect me to apologize anymore, I'm not sorry!".

The woman in a long dark coat raised an eyebrow, "and who was that?"

"Hm, pity," She rolled her eyes, "all my hard work brushed off onto a man. Quite typical I must say."
The staring contest continued, neither woman daring to move the swords in their right hands forward, both of their left hands resting threateningly near the revolvers on their thighs.
After a long moment and an assessing stare, the dark clad woman spoke, "you can tell your lovely employer my dear brother is still his mindless attack dog. He has no need to worry. After all, what can a poor maiden like me do?"
"Quite a lot if the reports are accurate."
A bark of a laugh rain out in the alley. "Oh you flatter me. And you saw the reports? Quite impressive clearance for a woman. Oh, is that why you're here? Rise through the ranks? So incredibly difficult for the likes of you and I."
"You seemed to have no problem." The mercenary began to bore of the endless chatter, shifting her hand and inch closer to the cloaked woman's throat.
"Oh quite the contrary my dear. I want nothing to do with the stench of royalty and manipulation and power." An analysing eye swept over the mercenary, "All those pretty knives across your chest. And that armour! You're not quite from this part of the woods, are you?"
The barely perceived twitch of the head gave away her answer.
"Perhaps that's why you need his good graces. To pay the price of entry. Quite a hefty price, someone's life, wouldn't you say? Just to gain entrance, and save your family from famine."
A storm crossed the mercenary's face and she said without falter, "I would do anything for them."
"Oh don't look at me like that," came the quick reply, "I would do anything for my family too. Pay any price. My parents would to. But they came up short. I was cast away to the dogs, and the price fell upon my brother. Look at him now, driven mad by an unrelenting master. That's what you want?"
A falter now appeared in the mercenary's expression. "I've seen all you've done. You are just as mad as he is."
"Perhaps," the shadowed figure inches forward, never letting her sword leave it's position an inch away from the mercenary's neck, and, strangely, the mercenary moved back to match, "but at the very least, I am free."
The mercenary could see her face now, a sliver band of moonlight illuminating golden skin, midnight black hair, molten brown eyes.
"I do hope we meet again, Araya of Utratia."
The hooded figure got one last look of wide, dark brown eyes, equally dark skin and braided hair, before she pulled a small cylinder from her sleeve, threw it to the ground, and vanished into night and smoke.

"You're a bit late tonight, ey Saryu?"
She rolled her eyes as she took of the long cloak, revealing her sword's scabbard, her belt of knives and her revolver.
"I got sidetracked." She tossed the cloak onto the bar stool beside her.
"By a pretty lady no doubt?" The man behind the counter asked with a smirk and a laugh.
"By a new recruit."
"A new recruit who's also a pretty lady?"
"Mind your own business Sano, which, unless I'm mistaken, consists of quite the stable hand?"
A blush spread over the tall man's face, and he muttered back, "you got the information, yes?"
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Of course, I'm not incompetent."
And if Saryu dreamed of ebony skin and braided hair, then no one but herself had to know. She was a free woman, after all.

Araya stood steadfastly before the the massive metal doors, her armour and blades glinting in candlelight. Four faceless guards, as dangerous as herself, stood on either side of the doors.
She steeled herself as the metal began to slide open, revealing a massive room, and the sole occupant, a lone man, hair and skin as pale as the moonlight streaming through the massive windows.
"You did not bring the target."
Araya refused to flinch. She would not show fear.
"I saw movement in an alleyway, in the area your majesty told me to search. I attacked and investigated, but did not find a trace of any people. The movement matched descriptions of the target, and what I could see of the movement matched the height of the suspect. That was my only lead."
A long silence filled the air, crushing her with its weight.
"I expect the target to be eliminated soon. I'm sure you understand the value of this mission. To all parties."
She swallowed. "Of course your majesty. Thank you for your mercy."
And if that night, she dreamed of golden skin and raven hair, nobody would ever know. After all, a whisper could get you killed.

Riding a horse with your leg cut to the bone is not fun. Everything is numb, my head is pounding. All I can hear is the sound of footsteps accompanied by hooves. That worries me. “You can’t run from me.” Arcane, her only purpose in life is to kill me. Hearing the sound of something coming towards me. I panicked and so did the horse. An arrow shot through the horse's ear, It panicked even more. This time making me fall on my injured leg. "Gotcha.” I heard that overly familiar voice of the hooded person say. Too much was happening and causing me to forget about my leg, and worry about her. She picked me up just to shove me against a tree, my back facing her. Feeling the cold steel of her dagger on my neck. “How are you today, my rag doll.” As she spoke, I felt something trickle down my neck, slowly. I realized that her dagger had punctured the skin under my ear. I heard shouting in the distance, I could tell that she heard them too. “They followed me.” I grinned weakly. “Ugh, I should’ve known.” Arcane spoke under her breath. Five men on horses appeared. “Miss Arcane, on behalf of the king orders and the princesses safety. Drop your weapon, and step towards us.” The first man spoke, detaining Arcane. She looked at me and smirks, I didn't know most of her tricks but this knew this one. Arcane laid hunched over on the captains horse with chains around her ankles and wrists. "Can I please have some water." She barked, She was going to escape I knew it. I was wrong. Horribly wrong.

Let's say that the villain here is the antagonist and not the protagonist (which tends to happen in fiction). An antagonist is, by definition, someone who greatly opposes a situation or idea and is willing to change said situation.
In real life history, a protagonist ( a.k.a the status quo) has to win multiple times against the multiple antagonists in order to keep the status quo. If one of the antagonists wins, a change happens, so they don't need to win anymore.

Is just me or I like cleaning my room while imagining I’m the heir to the throne in a world where everything was messed up like everyone is racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc so I run away and become the villain and then the chosen one is supposed to kill me but instead falls in love with me and we try to make the world right with my own followers?
UPDATE: I'm writing this into a story. I'll be on Wattpad and Ao3. It's taking me some time to develop the fantasy world, the rules and the characters but after that the first two chapters will be up. (I'll link it here) Also if anyone also wants to make this into a story they can but just please credit me for the story idea
UPDATE: jsjsjssk I know it’s been some time but I’m still planning it out so it can the best as possible. Another huge thing is that it’s a diverse story so researching and making sure the rep is done right takes some time. But this story definitely isn’t abandoned
