    Personal experience and peer experiences says otherwise... I was an opiate addict for a decade, currently on Buprenorphine for 5 years now. Withdrawal symptoms from Buprenorphine are twice as bad as opiates, dependency is just as bad.

      I'm an active addict using on top of 60ml methadone and going on a rapid reduction in 2 weeks to get to 30ml then switching straight to the dissolvable tab, I've bin using for over 15 years and tried everything except this, is it a blocker and is the withdrawal worse than methadone would anyone know? I know alot about addiction and spoken about and bin in treatment a good few times but still would like anyone's thoughts on it if possible, I just need to know if it's a blocker like legit as that'll stop the thought process of scoring, sorry for the rant lol I jus had to get it out while I cud lol hope everyone's doing well

      From what my doctor and pharmacist said (I have yet to start, I’m waiting for opioid withdrawal to happen first which, I think is ass backwards) the does of buprenorphine dose and the narcotic dose should be of approximately equal strength. If not it’s not going to balance. Best of luck to everyone.

      This drug is prescribed for pain as well this drug has pain relieving properties, all opioids or opioid antagonists use part of our central brain which causes us to feel that euphoria feeling in the beginning of taking any narcotic pain pill which are ( serotonin ) and (endorphins)
      If continue taking any kind of these meds it will eventually bleed your "happy fuel" dry therefore you must keep a balance to combat depression. Taking a mood enhance which makes you build serotonin levels easier and faster is key keep trying diff. Meds that fits with you it takes time, diet full of green fruits for antioxidants, 500mg of vitamin C to help replenish serotonin levels so it can work together with mood stabilizer pills for depression is what worked for me.
      Balance is your answer.

    Based on what I’ve read, this compound has a long half life. This means the receptors are exposed to this for a long time.
    But wouldn’t that make it harder to shake dependence off it compared to a compound with a shorter half life ?
    I’m sure this is a deep technical subject and it would be as difficult for you to explain as it would be for me to explain partial differential equations in a CZcams thread.

    It's honestly a case by case scenario some bodies accept it better than most like all medications. In the beginning take a small amount not a full dose just like doing perc 30s you have to break your body in for it before taking a full 8mg dose. The Naloxone is myth it doesn't do anything for the half life on it is way shorter and the amount of it in the drug is too miniscule to have any effect against the bupe. causing people to abuse the drug.
    Regardless it is a miracle drug and helped me get clean while being dependent on heroin and fenty for 5 years the problem resides...
    Your body learns to use buprenorphine as a crutch and can become addicted to it and when you do the withdrawals are the worse for the mental gymnastics it puts you through and physical side effects as well. If you do Start on this drug becareful follow your prescription to the T if your doctor is telling you to be on it longer than 3 - 6 months he is lying to you start to taper off it by month 4 slowly by slowly do not begin the cycle that big pharma wants you to be stuck in.
    beat the system, get clean, get the fuck out im rooting for you. Need advice I here as recovering heroin addict.

      There is no calculation to transform methadone to buprenorphine. Each patient has to be assessed and the conversion has to be estimated.

I' have just switched to this buprenorprin so yeah good knowledge I have always used lowest dose of opioid been on for 16 years will for the rest of my life. DDD so I'm glad to know it's safer but working better I dk I'm might need a stronger dose. I layed down to sleep & I woke up sweaty & feeling sick. Does this stop or go away and if so how long does tis take. Now my ankles hurt. Taking Gabapentin also. I'm needing pain med for life. Older adult 66 COPD no problems, so I hope I lik it I hate tryilng to get a pee test every 3 mos. rediculosis I have been using opioids & never increased dose but now need more pain med. stronger or more. So I hope this works. Is there a higher dose? I would hate to use Methodone.

      Many people need to take their bupropion taper much, much slower than that or they will fail. I have done enough research to know. You need to give your body time to adjust to the new dose. At the very minimum you should half your dose about every 2 weeks. If you start feeling withdrawals after dropping then try adding a piece of a strip at your worst time of the day, perhaps at bedtime to deal with restless legs and other withdrawal symptoms. Stay on that for about another week.then go back to the original amount you wanted to taper to. When you get down to 2mg it’s going to get more difficult. You need to start cutting your strips. If you are on 2mg go down to go 1.5mg. Stay there for 2-3 weeks. When you get down to 1mg start going down very slowly. Take 3/4 of a mg for 3-4 weeks, then 1/2mg for 3-4 wks. 1/4 x3-4wks, Then do what’s called chipping. Take micro pieces until you feel ready to jump. I’ve heard many, many people say just the tiniest piece can keep you out of withdrawals once you taper down. Yes, it sounds like a lot of work and a lot of time, but if you truly want to find a successful way to get off Suboxone/Buprenorphine this is the way to go. Don’t try to rush getting off, it will likely derail your success. Some people take a year to taper. I’m not saying you need to do that but the slower you take it, especially once you get under about 3-4 mg the better your chances are. Good luck!

    • @terri5757
      @terri5757 Před 26 dny

      I would not attempt to jump at 16 mg especially after having a rapid taper. Buprenorphine is a strong medication that stays in your system a long time. You need to do a long so taper to be successful. I’m not sure where needing to take laxatives comes in to play? If you were constipated at your original dose you won’t be any more constipated at a lower dose.

  • @BigDaddyB369
    @BigDaddyB369 Před 6 měsíci

    It does not cause less withdrawls. The withdrawls are at least twice as bad then coming off of straigh heroin. This is obviously coming from a person whos never taken suboxone or heroin. If you havent gone through it you have no right to be talking like you know because you just dont.

      Try to reduce the doses little by little... no doctor is going to help you, they'll just tell you there is no such thing as an addiction to buprenorphine 😂

    Been on Buprenorphine since 2010 for pain.
    I never sneeze or yawn OR SLEEP NORMALLY!!!
    No REM for sure! I am on psych drugs to induce sleep!!!
    It STOPPED RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME!!! A HUGE MIRACLE!!!
    But NOT SLEEPING HAS CAUSED DEMENTIA. IMHO .

      No, You should not inject buprenorphine yourself. That is one of the symptoms the person is developing addiction to the drug. Please talk to your doctor. Try to find a specialist in addiction medicine soon.
