I have no doubt in my mind that, one day, Odi will retire as one of the GOATs, if not *the* GOAT. What he is doing is incredible - the amazing skiing, the dominance, the consistency, the mental strength... I've never seen anything like this.
Agree but it's a shame Hirscher retired prematurely. He probably left 15 - 25 wins out there.
@@ratsuel8152 definitely... there will always remain the "what if" regarding Hirscher. But even without those wins, at the moment he is still the undisputed GOAT.
And it's a shame we never really got to see him and Odi compete against each other at their peaks in GS.
In my view, there isn't anyone close to threatening Odi at the moment in the overall. Is there/are there any up and coming racers poised to become the next Odi? At a time I thought that may be Radamus, but he hasn't really developed into that caliber of racer@@enchyxxx
@@ratsuel8152 I agree with everything you've said. We'll see what happens when Schwarz returns from his injury, but other than him, I don't see anyone getting close (and keep in mind that Schwarz isn't better than Odi in DH, SG and GS, he just has that advantage of having an extra discipline to win points, so I'd still say Odi is the clear favourite between the two, as he doesn't just compete, he pretty much wins half of his races (11 wins from 21 appearances this season) and is usually on the podium in the rest).
When it comes to the rest of the competition, of course there are some very good skiers in the World Cup (Sarrazin, Kristoffersen, Feller, the young Norwegians, Kilde (when he returns from injury), Kriechmayr, etc.), but all of them either ski only two disciplines, are too inconsistent, have trouble with their material, etc., so none of them are getting close any time soon...
And just thinking about it, I can't think of any young and up and coming skiers who could repeat Odi's results.
As for the future, there were 3 guys who all podiumed/won at the recent world juniors (two italians and one swiss guy) who appear to ski DH, SG and GS as a really high level.@@enchyxxx
Gratulation an Marco zum Sieg und dem Schweizer Team für die tolle Leistung 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏼
Remarkable year for Odie.
We are watching a ATG in the making here, guy is crushing records at only 26.
which is nuts considering that 4 downhills and 1 super G have been cancelled so far this year. without the cancellations this year odi would have dominated in even bigger fashion!
@@victorriverieulx2297There's still 4 Giant Slaloms, 1 super G and 1 downhill race scheduled, he will probably crush his own all time record for points from the last year, which was 2042.
Good for River, and on home snow. Henrik has been having a time with his new set up but it looks liked he may have finally dialed it in. Should have stayed with Rossignol. He was fast on it.
Hopp Schwiiz. This race at fka Squaw Valley.
Wish Kilde was there
Why has the loud music drowning out the commentary come back again FIS?!
It was very close. Lucky win
It's not a lucky win Odi is simply better
@@vincentchristen1208Very close so lucky win
First 2 were close. The rest well. Off
