How You FINALLY Saw Arteta’s Masterplan When Arsenal Beat Luton

  • A dramatic Declan Rice goal saw Arsenal emerge victorious in a 4-3 against against Luton. But while a lot of the focus has surrounded the mistakes of goalkeeper David Raya, an examination of Arsenal's goals paints a far clearer picture. This is a team that can win the Premier League title, and exactly what Mikel Arteta has been building for years.

    Just to add Havertz dragged two defenders away from the scorer in the first two goals by attacking the space in the box vacated by Jesus.

      @@yusufali2402I still dont like the idea, he's getting better no doubt but with a CM we'll be flying. The only good thing now is at least Havertz is getting into the box, so guess Arteta doesn't seem him as a midfielder anymore. You play him upfront that's fine. But in midfield its a no for me.

    • @srikar1726
      @srikar1726 Před 5 měsíci

      @@ejiro241This is exactly why he flopped at Chelsea, Havertz is only capabale of playing as a CAM. The reason he was brought in becuase Jesus is a false 9 not a goal scoring center forward. Havertz's role is to take advantage of this and score goals by making runs from the midfield position. Arteta is trying to attack not defend more becuase we already have the best CDM in the league there.

    A lot of pundits were talking about and complaining asking: " What does Kai Havertz do? " Well in yesterday's game I watched him take down a few long balls by Raya with a defender on his back and pass to a team mate. I saw him nick the ball a few times. He was also getting in there, using his physicality and fighting for it. Made some nifty passes and scored a goal. He is what I would call an "Arteta" type of player. He's VERY talented. Has certain attributes (like size and strength) but he doesn't have a typical defined role. He's a cross in between a false 9 and an eight who tracks back. Same with Trossard. Versatile players that give you assists and goals. Great analysis, you really hit the nail on the head. Anyone can score on that team and does...

    • @chigozieukwuomah

      Exactly. Even when Kai wasn't producing any g/a he still looked like an ideal man for Arteta. I knew he would eventually be pulled up by the team playing at a higher level. He is that kind of player. I'm happy he is turning into what we need.

      I have to say, you hit the nail here. My gripe with him was that he did not impose himself more on the field. Be more commanding that’s all. If Havertz is moving in the right direction, I am sure the fans will warm up to him.

      Spot on. Though I tend to say that he has role. Like Second balls winner and a perfect extra body in every aspect in the opposition half. He’s of the ball player more then on the ball player. Not everybody in attacking 5 group has to be Hazard or De bruyne, we already have those. Some has to be a smart multifunctional extra number.

      @FinnegasIX Před 5 měsíci +2

      Havertz is like if you could reset Ozil’s stats in either FIFA or PES with more of a focus on defence and stamina. He seems introverted on the pitch but has done more than could be asked in the past month. Man’s had a successful youth career and had his confidence shook. Not proper coaching but unlike Ozil he tries, he really tries. Not waving of hands or a lack of effort. Effort gets rewarded and I hope he’s the secret weapon for the second half of the season. Increase our goal rate.

    Spot on. What people also need to pay attention to is Kai Havertz on all 3 goals mirroring the goal scorer with his run to open space or scoring himself. Goal 2, opens space with near post run for Jesus header. Goal 3, mirrors run opposite Jesus who plays Kai in for his own goal. Goal 4, you handled well and it was Kai an big gabbi offering aerial threat back post that pulled Morris to open Declan. This diversity in attack is absolutely to plan by Arteta. Kai Havertz is coming to the stage now and has never been as "bad" as people claim. He is worth every penny and will be the bargain people claim Rice to be.

People forget when Saka came into the team we were 8th trying to get back into Europe, and he got lots of minutes. Now we are fighting for a title so the academy is just a good source of income for ffp or to send players out on loan to develop elsewhere.

Nketiah has spurts of 2 or 3 phenomenal performances he’d randomly put out in the season but in most games he just cant seem to provide the same impact as Jesus, which is why we need to find someone else.

    So far this season pretty much every mistake that has been made has been punished.
    Zinny’s (and Declan’s) error against Wolves, still lots to the do, Saka’s error against Fulham a lucky miss hit, Kai’s pass against United, still a lot to do super finish, Jorginho’s mistake to let Son in.

      @@NakulKrishna My argument is "It's Luton" because I watched the game and watched them get dominated at their ground, and the stats back it up. They conceded 2 goals over Arsenal's xg and were outplayed for the entirety of the match from what was an incomplete Arsenal performance. Jesus was pulling their CBs so far apart, if they were any wider, they'd be at the touchline. Twice Saka had clear view of goal right outside of their box in that situation and messed it up the exact same way passing it wide again to Jesus for no good reason at all. When it came to passing and positioning inside/around the box it was mistakes all over. The game should have ended with 7 or more for Arsenal. Maybe it was tired legs or more cautious approach, but Arsenal were also terribly slow to get forward on the transition most of the game. It was almost a flatline performance from Luton at home against an Arsenal playing at around 60% of their potential. It was far from just Raya messing up.

      Because there is not that much to talk about. Yes they played great, but can they repeat it over and over again and also at away games? That's much harder given the physicality they showed which must have been incredibly tiring. Luton have been praised from all sides and rightly so by the way.

      Luton scored 3 goals from 4 shots on target, an xG of a mere 0.5. The scoreline massively overstated their offensive output.

    If I saw it against a team like Manchester City or Liverpool then I’d buy into it.. but it’s Luton. They’ve literally only won 2 games. It’s almost a guaranteed win. The only exception was the 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

      Another guy with “it’s Luton”, such fuckall justification for a crap argument. Wolves barely won games due to many circumstances out of their control and guess what? They beat city the treble winners. Analyse the game or their performances not your bias of a club and what you believe Arsenal should’ve done.

    arteta will never win the league , firstly he is arrogant n pep n klopp might also seem so but they arent , mark my words raya is a flop n would prove really costly this season at the most imp time, and i love arsenal and its not that i am saying this bcz of ramsdale. but his treatment previously hasnt been good to players , i understand they were not good enough to play but the way arteta has treated them is not right.. and yesterday they were lucky bcz i dont know how long these mistakes of raya will be covered. ramsdale needs to go bcz he wont play in england if he is on the bench, maybe go to united or chelsea... and maybe this could have a change in raya
