I think Manu Kone has what Liverpool wants (tackles) and challenges, but Thuram is also a good player, if we could take both good but if you want one is must be Manu Kone.
That's my view as well. Chases players down, wins the ball and you can't get it off him either. Liverpool's midfield has been too slow this season, giving opposition midfielders time on the ball to wait for the perfect time to play a pass in behind.
So Thuram seems to prefer playing on the left side of mid field and Kone off the right.. guess thats why we are linked to both.. Both look happy to drop deep to get the ball and feel comfortable advancing to the box.. could be a lethal combo and the fact they share the french connection with Konate.. makes a lot of sense to have familiar players around each other same way it makes sense to bring in Gravenberch with Van Dijk and Gakpo
First and foremost, Thuram has terrific injury record. He has to be the priority. But like most of you have mentioned, liverpool are better off buying both.
Thuram, 100%, no doubt. Absolute beast and quick and skillful at the same time, with the work ethic that our fans (and JK) like. Imagine you were a defender and you had him and Nunez charging towards you!

Koné or Thuram? Kone comes across as more of a mobile, specialised battle axe (direct replacement for Fabinho), where as Thuram has the physicality to drive from deep into more advanced roles (would probably occupy the right side of midfield). Ideally it would be great to have both. Either way, imagine the counter attacks with these gents in the squad. 🔥
Similar style in playing, both are energetic, young and robust. We can get both players for under 100m, at least for the next couple of years we can be confident in the midfield department with the likes of Arnold, Curtis, Bajectic and Elliott. I guess we are good to challenge for titles.
Thuram and Kone possess exceptional technical skills and exhibit distinct playing styles. Their potential arrival at LFC would be an excellent fit for the team. They would undoubtedly serve as significant upgrades over the current departing midfield players.
If Klopp gets both that midfield will be too unstoppable. So they're going to go for one and probably allow the other to go to City or Madrid. This would suit FSGs ambitions.

But throwing caution to the wind, if we're to take lessons from history, then two similar players usually don't make a good team no matter how good they're individually. Lampard - Gerrard and Rooney - Tevez duos serve as great reminders that it could be a bad idea as they tend to get in each other's way.
I saw Fabrizio Romano give an update on Thuram and Kone recently and he said that terms were agreed between Liverpool and Thuram but were still waiting to agree a fee with OGC Nice before a medical could be booked. As for Kone, Borussia Monchengladbach have had no contact from anyone at Liverpool.
obviously it’s not down to me but if we sign these 2 aswell as mac we’ll be set in the midfield for 7/8 years with the likes of bajcetic curtis as squad options aswell. The only reason we wouldn’t get both is if we save for a defender but i think we’ll be alright for another year with this defence then next year we can rebuild the defence and we’ll be good in every department for like 5 years, short term it’ll cost a lot but long term it saves a lot

It's weird how quickly people forget about Bajcetic. Thuram and Kone are both playing in a far easier league. To assume they would step in and be better than Bajcetic who knows our system AND proved he can play at the Premiere league level is putting the cart before the horse. Even with both these guys, it's still possible Baj starts if we are going off last years performances.
Like the look of Thuram but Kone feels like the better option all round if it's one or the other, better defensively and just looks like a machine as well as a big game player. I'd say Kone appears to do do some the things Thuram can't do so well, whereas Thuram can't necessarily do anything Kone can't.
Preferably I'd like both players Thuram & Kone with Gravenberch. So we'll have Mac Allister, Thuram, Kone & Gravenberch in the midfield engine with youngsters Bajcetic, Jones & Elliot to continue their good work from where they left.
We shouldn't forget Bajcetic, Elliot & Jones! with Mac Allister imminent, maybe one of Thuram or Kone will be required. Both seem to be Klopp style players, both arriving would be incredible! Why not both! Imagine these 2 + Mac as our brand new mid next season, the dynamism, complete coverage of both offense & defense would exceed any mid combo we've had under Klopp so far, probably right up there with the class of 2008.
I hate to be that guy but there's always a problem at the end of the day when there's so much hype around a french midfielder from Ligue 1 coming to the premiership. Just look at bakayoko to Chelsea and ndombele to spurs in recent years. They don't live up to the hype eventually.

Kone is more of 6 and Thuram is 8. Personally prefer Kone which is what Liverpool needs the most in 6 to compete with Fabinho.

I feel it’s other way round. Thuram is more active in final third as cam while Kone is good at breaking up play as cdm
