  • Nasa astronaut Frank Rubio and cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin landed in Kazakhstan in a Soyuz capsule that replaced the original ride, which was damaged by space junk while docked to the International Space Station. This meant that a mission that should have taken 180 days turned into a 371-day stay.

Must be why Russian and USA space missions prioritise military missions over science missions then.

Russia itself isn't bad, it's Putin.

And most soldiers don't even know why they fight.

The human body turns to mush after it has been in zero gravity after a few short months. Bones softer, muscles lose strength, tendons, ligaments, inner ear balance goes. They could break their legs if they tried walking instantly.

@@regallux6973 The suits they wore to space is Russian and designed specifically for the capsule the went up in. The life support sockets wont fit the dragon and the suit is made for your body so new ones couldn't just be sent along. Retrofitting a dragon would have taken just as long to get certified so best case was to stay in space where everything is still relatively safe and keep carrying on till a replacement soyus rocket could be sent (and the politics on the ground be shoved out of the way).
