Zootopia | Judy and Parents Shot Progression | Animation Breakdown | 3D Animation Internships

Here are a couple of shots I animated on Zootopia. I was able to work off of great boards by @fawnv and layout by Terry Moews! I think Judy’s parents were some of the most fun characters to animate on this film, they were so squishy and cartoony haha. Swipe for process!

4- Rough first pass I showed the directors. This pass was just trying to show some of the main acting ideas and make sure I’m heading in a good direction.
5- Work in progress pass
6- Final animation. Including the work of all the talented artists that touched the shots after me!
I remember having a hard time finding the right way to animate dad saying “here come the waterworks” while keeping his mouth in that open frown pose. I remember approaching @nathan.engelhardt about it and and he did a couple of draw overs and helped me out a ton!
