It's like none of the judges ever heard the great gig in the sky before because that didn't even come close. But God bless her for trying. One of the greatest songs ever.
it's like you never heard to a pink floyd live concert before. She did it better than all of the choir girls they had on their tours.
@@gottabecrazy29 A bit late to answer, but she didn't even come remotely close to the dynamic of any of live performances that PF had. Just listen to the PULSE live -94 and you can hear the clear difference in quality. She was good, but not THAT good. Not to mention the studio version...
To sing that song, you need to put your balls on the table. She did not.

the guy on slide was amazing, the band on the last brick in the wall was amazing.
Man oh man that 1st perforftmance "The Great Gig in the Sky sounded just like when my cassette tape* used to get eaten up in the tape deck. I had a sudden urge to jump up yell "hit stop and gently pull the tape out slowly and grab me a pen or pencil ... 😂🤣

As a big Pink Floyd fan ( saw a few tours ) isn’t the purpose of the show to put your own spin on songs . I think for how complicated that song is she did a good job . Of course it’s not Clare Torry’s voice ( they brought her in to do this song )

I've seen Pink Floyd 3 times 69, 70, & 72 you just can't match their peculiar talent, sound, and stage presence with all the special effects. As much as these performers like Floyd they just don't do them justice no one can.

People don’t understand how hard “Great Gig in the Sky” is to sing. Lots of clowns in the comments, but she did a pretty decent job. 3 judges turned around almost immediately. That says something.

She’s not a bad singer either, she’s just a little along in her years and lost some of her vocal agility.
The woman Clare who sung that song is an absolute vocal revelation, you’re not covering her without mistakes , it was a rather unwise song choice imo

The balls it takes to attempt to sing "The Great Gig in the Sky" is the only reason for those chair turns.
O mais expressivo vocalmente foi o penúltimo do vídeo "William", e mesmo assim semitonou tanto que nenhuma cadeira virou. Mas o segundo que fez outra versão tocando cordas do tipo guitarra havaina deu um baita show. Só não mostrou muito poder vocal, mas toca muito!

The last chic was the best one of the bunch. The second act was 2nd place for me. The rest didn’t do justice to Floyd in my opinion.

It’s supposed to be a representation of a souls journey into the afterlife, but an overwhelmingly difficult vocal performance.
I’d encourage you to listen to the album version, the young lady who sung it was explained the “story” of the track and recorded it in one take, it’s incredible.

Two songs you should never try in an audition are the Great gig in the sky and the little Opera piece from the fifth element! And yet people try them bravely and fail spectacularly each time. You can't even "put your own spin" on these numbers. The will always sound fake
