I switched to Tekton about 5 years ago. I have yet to break or damage one. no issue with quality on any of the sockets i have purchased. I have recently bought the 1/4 and 3/8 inch swivel sockets. I don't know how i ever lived with out those. I cant say enough good things about Tekton.

👍 for tekton. I remember roughly 15 years ago we had a tool truck guy that comes around sells tekton and it was one of the cheapest tool he offers at the moment I mean very cheap dirt cheap but with decent quality. It was more of a tool brand for guys just started off as a auto tech. Look back all these years tekton grows tremendously, tool quality had only gotten better and better. I’ve been telling these kids just came out of school to consider tekton, harbor freight and gear wrench instead of snap on. I have maybe $70k worth of tools. Some of the guys I work with just worship snap on. They buy jacket, hat, cup even cooler and knife, I don’t know why I guess we all go thru that stage.

I was watching the 5 reasons not to buy snap-on. I agree with you I now call them crap-on.

This is why I picked them to build a extra tool set! Hf tried to copy there complete no skip sets but for 70 extra dollars for all the six points in the master set of three sets I would go with TEKTON three times not going to the hf for warranty is worth that pluse I can buy individual lost sockets and save gas and time

They are building a good reputation and combined with their prices, they’re presence will grow.
The set screw retention makes the allen tools serviceable. Some companies press them in and some use this method. I’d put some loctite on them all and snug them up. :)

Not only that. They are bringing home as much to the USA as they can. When you look at some of the tiawan stuff; it looks a lot like crescent, Pittsburg and some others. But on my mind it's worth a pinch more for the warranty and investing in an american company. I would rather spend a dollar more on an an american based company as long as they are doing their best to make as much here as is feasible. If you want american made tools than its gonna take american support.

I have a set of Tekton 1/2” deep well metric chrome sockets. And a 1/2” Standard SAE Chrome sockets. These were the most complete sets available in 1/2” in chrome at a mid range price, at the time I bought them. They seem to be lower quality than some other mid range sockets I own.

6 or 12 point? What do you find inferior?

Yeah but if you had a snap-on you could wait until they show up, give it to them, wait until they come back next trip and get your replacement you already paid for when you made the initial purchase. {:-)

They shil the replacement the next day. Just you have to say that you just bought it and it came without said socket.
