  • As an international student in Australia, when you start a new job, your employer will ask you to complete a TFN Declaration form, which includes your personal information, residency status, and other details that help determine the correct amount of tax to be withheld from your pay. The information you provide on the TFN Declaration form will also be used to determine if you are entitled to claim the tax-free threshold or other tax offsets.

Hello. This is my first job so I need to click that I claim tax free threshold since I earn below $18,000. But what if I have 2nd job? Should I fill up this form the 2nd time around for my 2nd employer? And what if I earn more than $18,000 a combined earnings from my 1st and 2nd job? What should I do? Thank youuu and more power!

Every time that you get a job, you will need to provide this information to your new employee. If you earn more than $18.000 combined earnings from my 1st and 2nd job, you need to choose one of the jobs (the one pays you the highest salary) to be the tax-free threshold.
