- Just 3 weeks after Spirit of Freedom spring flush in May, it is blooming and full of buds again!!! This is why I love Spirit of Freedom soooo much. It is a true work horse and it is really rare for climber to repeat soooo fast and with big amount of bloom as well. It is the type of rose doesn't even need to be deadhead and it will simply producing new buds and canes as long as it has enough food, water and sun.

This has always been my favorite rose of yours and Huntington as well. So many people get so excited over Eden roses but this one is my favorite climber. Its perfect to me.💜

I planted bare root of SoF this spring from DA. Her blooms last pretty long for me! She is with a very tall obelisk, so will see if she outgrows it or not. Maybe on Dr Huey she will not be a giant, we will see if I need more structure for her. Thank you for recommending her, I would not have been aware of her without you! xx

Does this rose last long in a vase? I love bringing beautiful flowers indoors. I’ve been thinking about getting this rose for a while, the colour and shape is gorgeous. How long do the SOF roses last once they have fully opened? I have some roses that last quite a while once fully open and I’m always a little disappointed when a rose looks so lovely from bud to bloom then it’s gone within a day or two and I just wanted to know how SOF performs.
It doesn't last long in vase. I will say maybe 2 days and that's it. I always enjoy it outside. Blooms actually last longer on the plant.
If you had to pick spirit of freedom vs James Galway which would you pick?
Spirit of freedom. It is a perfect climbing rose. I can't see James Galway rose once it is growing very tall coz the flower are always face up not down. Lol!!

Hi! Do you know whether SOF fares better than Strawberry Hill or Getrude Jekyll? I am looking into climbing roses that suits warmer climates as I am in Malaysia.
For sure better. SoF will repeats under the heat. GJ needs the cool temperature to bloom.

It is grafted. I totally recommend grafted.
