as a cubase user i totally get why this would mess you up, but one thing cubase doesn't do is the dr rex player. it's super fun to write slice sequences with and then like cycle through different rex files in a folder and find crazy ways of using different ones you'd have never sequenced the same way. yes i know rex files are an antiquated way of slicing samples but you'll just have to trust me on this one.
