BBangsang is from an SK meme - it basically means "jibberish" - so folks talkin nonsense. "Ass out the trunk" I believe is referring to freeloaders who are "along for the ride" and not real friends or there for all the wrong reasons. I do not believe it is a "korean phrase". "Walk like a duck" from the saying "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck" - so when people show you their true colors - believe them thats who/what they are. RM grew up w/hip hop. BTS was originally a rap/idol group in SK. He's been rapping since he was 13. He considers himself a poet, and got into RAP because "Rhythm And Poetry".

"...this is underground hip hop... is he from BTS"
ARMY: Yes sir. He started in underground hip hop before becoming the leader of BTS. Originally BTS was supposed to be a hip hop group but they changed it to an idol group (however they continue to have hip hop songs in their repertoire)
Advice from ARMY: leave all your misconceptions about the music industry when you react/learn about BTS. Believe me when i say that this is JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG.
PS. Please react to the BTS GUIDE BANGTAN SEVEN by Taylor Mari.

People don't know that pop is like just 20% of BTS's discography, the rest is all over the place, but hip-hop is their base, how they started, and they still do hip-hop to this day, rm was an underground rapper before BTS lol as well as another member called Suga

Underground rap is RM's roots. RM and Suga, both. They were underground rappers before they were BTS members. He used to go by Runch Randa and there were a bunch of grown men who were terrified of getting dissed by 15 year old RM. But he's also never been afraid to experiment with music. Rap, Hip-Hop, Rock, R&B, Alternative, Experimental- he's very at home in all of them. I really recommend all his work. His mixtapes, RM and Mono, as well as his solo albums Indigo and Right Place, Wrong Person. He even did a collab with Wale back in the day called Change. It's one of my personal favorites, I've got a great deal of respect for Wale and it was great to see the mutual respect both artists had for each other.

Ok. So yes, this guys IS from BTS. Not only is he FROM BTS, he’s literally the beginning of BTS. The group was formed around him, he’s the LEADER of BTS. Each member of BTS is unbelievably talented. I didn’t know who they were until I heard “Dynamite” on American radio in 2021. I saw your reaction to “Standing Next To You” by Jungkook f/ Usher. Just note, his former songs are under his old name Rap Monster before he changed it to RM. If you love hip hop/ r&b, these songs by RM are a MUST for you to react to:
    P.D.D. By Rap Monster f/ Warren G
    Monster By RM
Rush by RM f/ Krizz Kaliko
    Change by RM f/ Wale
    Moonchild by RM
Closer by RM f/ Paul Blanco, Mahalia
    Awakening by RM
    Do You by RM
These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head that I would recommend outside of the usual recommendations you’ll see. Looking forward to these reactions!

RM is the leader of BTS. He was an underground rapper at 13 years old. You will love him. BTS began as a hip hop idol group. Just start at the beginning. Watch the guide to BTS by Taylor Mari!!!! It will give you a great overview and then you can decide where you want to dive into next. You will end up loving all seven members I guarantee. As for ‘ get your ass out the trunk’ probably only Namjoon (RM) knows. He is fluent in Korean & English and is great at mixing the two. His brilliant English lyrics are what I call “Joonglish”🤣 he really comes up with unique phrases and idioms sometimes.

Speaking of West Coast, Warren G and Coolio have mentored BTS in LA about 10 years ago. Even so, RM was already an underground rapper pre-BTS. Supposedly he was kind of a legend back then, because even Suga (who was also from the underground from his hometown) has even heard of RM before he met him. There’s a song by a fellow underground rapper dissing another rapper in his verse saying something like he got served/beaten by a 14 yr old Runch (which was RM, old rap name was Runch Randa). I recommend his albums, and this new one is sick. Suga (also known as Agust D) is also sick. I recommend watching the A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 (by Taylor Mari).

RM in his talk with Jimin specifically mentions Balming Tiger. They are also worth a listen.

I'm a hip-hop head too and the BTS rap line are just amazing. BTS started as a hip-hop group. They cover all genres and the rappers RM and Suga were underground rappers before joining BTS. They're legit and their lyricism and flows are unmatched. I recommend you check out Suga's song "Agust D" next. Suga reminds me so much of a younger Eminem in terms of life story, raw authentic lyricism, and delivery.

    The whole album is incredible!
One thing that used to really push me away from K-pop and assumptions i had as a by-product about BTS was some cases of really problematic cultural appropriation, taking a lot of the Black esthetic but disregarding the culture.
What changed my mind about BTS specifically is that they are real students of hip hop, respect the culture and shoutout and include people, paying fornthe samples theybuse (which is even less common in the kpop industry)! And we're not talking about drake or lil uzi whatever.. for me it was their track "hip hop lover" the names they shouted out shocked me!! (Rakeem, CL Smooth??!), Rm's features with Waaren G or Wale etc... The rappers of BTS are real students of hip hop!

They wrote this song 10 years ago and it is basically BTS paying homage to the Hip Hop Legends of our time that inspired them. Definitely watch the live concert performance version. It's a hidden gem💎. I'm a 60 yr old grandma, and I have never seen a group this talented before. And trust me, I've been to 100+ concerts in the last 40+ years, from Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Michael and Janet Jackson, Boyz II Men, Usher, Justin Timberlake, and so so many in between, in every genre. BTS is hands down the BEST concert I haver EVER been to! BTS, as a group or doing their own solo projects have broken so many Guinness World records, it's insane. The history (and present and future) of BTS is SO much more interesting than people think from the outside. As other people mentioned they were originally going to be a hip hop group and some of the members were underground rappers. They came up from very little, all sharing a tiny bedroom, with a nearly-bankrupt label that had less than 10 employees... the rise has been crazy to witness!!! And musically speaking they have plenty of pop hits, but they're seriously diverse. There's so much gold when you dig into their catalogue.

RM and Suga cut their baby teeth on old school American hiphop. Suga's solo work is under pseudonym AgustD.

  • @ralphy383
    @ralphy383 Před měsícem +3

Yes this man RM is the central pillar of bts. Let me give you a little bts history.
BTS is half a hiphop group with their 3 rappers.
BTS originally had only rappers in 2011 and RM JHOPE and SUGA were some of the og members who stayed back even after the ideas for bts changed and they decided to bring in vocalists to make it a partial idol group. (you already know jungkook. He was a 13 year old kid who saw RM rapping on the internet and said 'he is so cool, i want to join that company.')
The 3 rappers are the primary songwriters for BTS.
RM and suga come from the underground rap scene. Both of them used to be part of Hiphop crews in their hometowns. JHOPE was a hiphop street dance who was part of a street dance crew.
Jhope started rapping after he moved in with the other two and he used to watch them do freestyle rap battles in their tiny dorm and join in.
Thats how he picked up rap.
BTS has tons of hiphop music. There is a song called 'hiphop phile' where they talk about their influences.
After 2022 all the 7 members of bts decided to debut with solo albums right before going into their mandatory military service.
RM initially made an indie pop album called Indigo for his debut (its actually genreless.)
This is his second album after debut. Right place Wrong Person is Alt hiphop rock. The whole album is fire.
None of the bts members have similar music. They all do different genres.
Even the 3 rappers are so different from one another. Suga/agustd is a producer and he produces his own beats. He debuted with D-day
Jhope makes old school hiphop. He debuted with 'Jack in the Box'.
RM also has two mixtapes called RM 2015 And MONO 2018.
I hope you check out full albums from RM and bts..
Without listening to albums you can't really say you know them. They make incredible diverse music.

RM has 4 solo albums, RM, Mono, Indigo and the latest, RPWP, which this song is from. He (and all BTS members) also have singles and a ton of collabs on other artists' albums, plus solo songs on BTS albums. BTS has three phenomenal rappers, RM, Suga/AgustD and j-hope, who are all different and all also world class songwriters and producers and among the best rappers in the world. All 7 members of BTS are phenomenal soloists as well as magical in their fusion together and all are great songwriters too. RM is not only the leader of BTS, he was the first member signed by their label Big Hit, and the group was built around him and he helped select each member and guide their direction since pre-debut days. They are a hip hop group at their core. I see that you have reacted to UGH! and Hip Hop Phile, as well as some other BTS songs, but you are not familiar with what RM and the other rappers in BTS can do?

RM is the leader of BTS. The previous CEO of the label BigHit Entertainment, now known as Hybe/Big Hit Music labels, Bang Si-Hyuk, aka Bang Pd, liked RM so much that he made the group around him. Namjoon(RM'S real name), was an underground rapper since he was 13.He listened to many American rappers and his idol is Naz. This mv "groin" is from his latest solo album ("rpwp") "right place wrong person". Where he delves in his emotions from the time when BTS went on a break on mid 2022, to start joining their mandatory military service. All men in South Korea are required to do so by the age of 30. Jin, the oldest member of BTS, just completed his service and got discharged this past June 12.And on the 13, he made some performances for Army, their fandom, to celebrate FESTA, BTS 's anniversary. This one was their 11 Anniversary. He performed 3 of his solo songs and hugged 1,000 Armys for free😭 So back to RM, he is a genius with an IQ of 148. Has 2 mistakes and 2 solo albums. All of BTS members have solo albums. They each have a solo song in some of their group albums. They are very diverse and make all types of genres. The group has 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. RM being the main rapper. In 2025, when all of the members are done with their military service, they will be back together as a group. As for "get yo ass out the trunk", he is talking to his haters. He gets too much hate and BTS do as well. And bbansang, I think he means crazy in this particular song. He is amazing with wordplay so on many of his songs it goes over our heads. He has wild rap songs, also deeper calmer songs. Very versatile artist. I love him and BTS and sorry for the essay. Lol

Before BTS, he was an underground rapper known as Runch Randa. In 2007, as a first-year middle school student (13 yo), RM began rapping in local amateur hip-hop circles. He then joined a hip hop crew with 10 underground rappers, called Daenamhyup Crew.

Huda, we talked about this, BTS began as a hip hop group. The first 2 selected were RM & Suga: two raw, young underground rap stars. Next came the b-boy turned rapper J-hope and then 2 vocalist, Jin and Jungkook,- who was also being trained to rap. Finally Jimin was to be another dancer and Tae as an additional vocalist. The rappers were to be the primary songwriters for any music the group chose to produce. I view RM - as a wordsmith, who will hit you with his genius IQ day and night. Suga is aggressive in his use of clever wordplay and he's a top-tier producer. J-hope is a melodic rap master, pop/b-bounce/catchy. When you add in the other elements; JK's all purpose skills and the vocalization of Jin, Jimin & Tae, you get all hits, no miss. My faves be RM & Suga, but I won't choose between them, since I don't have to. Now that RM is the new contestant I'll make these suggestions: Indigo (album), Joke, Do You, Persona, Seoul, Change (w/Wale), and Expensive Girl to throw you totally for a loop. Enjoy.

BTS debuted as a Hip Hop Idol Group in 2013. RM started writing poetry as young boy, and he found hip hop and started rapping as a young teen. He signed with Big Hit music to lead a rap hip hop group, and the project changed to a Hip Hop IDOL group. (adding dance and vocals to the group), but they were pure Hip Hop and RnB. The whole group studied Hip Hop and they stay true to it, but are not afraid to try new genres. They are known to cross and fuse many genre's. All the members can rap, dance, and sing, but there are three rappers, and 4 vocalists. RM, and SUGA are both from underground rap, and J-hope is the third rapper that came from street dance. The rap line are the main songwriters of the group, but all members contribute to songwriting, composing, and producing. All the members have solo projects as well.
RM has many collaborations and singles as a solo artists, and he also has 2 mixtapes [RM (2015), and MONO (2018)], and he has now two albums [INDIGO (2022), and Right Place, Wrong Person (2024)] Another thing to note, your favorite member Jungkook started out rapping in the group, so he is skilled in that area as well, and he is now the 4th member that is a a full member of KOMCA, The Korean Music Copyright Association. (Along with RM, SUGA, and J-HOPE), and the rest of the members are associate members. All the members are highly talented and just genuine guys.

RM is for real from BTS. There’s a vocal line (4 members) and a rap line (3 members: RM, Suga, and J-Hope). RM just dropped a new solo album called Right Place, Wrong Person. Please react to it. And then check out Suga’s new solo album D-Day. He uses another name Agust D for his hard-hitting solo music. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by what these three rappers can do, alone or together. (I prefer their rap songs over what’s coming out of the American hip-hop scene today.)

Really appreciate the honest reaction, if you could help spread his work around to audiences you think would like this genre of music it would be nice. Since he’s a Korean artist the industry groups him with “K-pop” and most audiences who would appreciate his music are turned away from it bc of it, it’s up to fans to help promote him to the suitable audiences.

namjoon and yoongi as well started out as underground rappers when they were just 13.
people make the common mistake and misjudge them cause they're technically "idols" and members of a " boygroup".
especially in south korea, he's extremely respected by the general public for his manners, demeanor, intelligence and being a great leader (source: korean friends)

Okay so being baby army you first you need to watch the Bangtan 7 Taylor guide this is a RM he is the leader of the biggest group in the world bts. that comes with so much pressure!
For cyears he's been composed and gracious while facing so many false accusations & just really unheard of hate he told us to don't react be the bigger person! He has always bitten his tongue for so long to represent BTS as their leader in a way that is put together smart and and proper as the representative of Korea. All the while this is a man who has had to deal with questions about why they haven't gone to the military although it wasn't his choice to stay for that long it was the government using them and now he has people trying to start rumors in the media to take them down while they're away serving their country. He has had enough finally!! after all this time he has had enough of being qquiet and doing what he's supposed to do that he and the rest of BTS are saying this is what's true we are going to say what we want to say now when they returned it's going to be epic! Actually this isn't out of BTS character one thing you have to know is when it comes to be the BTS expect the unexpected
Apparently that Korean word bbangsang has two meanings is the Korean meme a Buddhist concept that basically means he's that basically means the Buddhist is going to plant it's trees and flowers and other foliage as a difference to block out negativity. Which if you know him that completely makes sense because he is a poet and literal genius ( 148 IQ)
