      @@ClayManJay 2000 Nissan Pathfinder - Nice! This would be an unorthodox job using a retro programmer called the T-300. I'm sure there's other methods to pull this off but this is mines assuming no keys is present. If a key is present then duplicating of the transponder is highly recommend to save on labor and time. Use the 10 pin connector cable for the NATS 2 system and not OBD16. Make sure you use the "Nissan" adapter in between the cable and the unit itself for success.

    sure locksmiths can do german car keys as well. autel 508, 608 with chip reader & ofcourse unfortunately you have to subscribe to manufacturer programming real ease data which some are cheaper than others depends if its just for one time one vehicle or yearly, depends on how much you do sometime is not worth it. it is doable just many locksmiths don’t want to get involved which connecting their tool to on line manufacturer servers it takes time lots of patience cuz t sucks doing it so most of the time it doesn’t make financial sense

    @ACME locksmith, recently my immobilizer chip for my honda died, I had a locksmith cut me a new key, but they took it upon themselves to make a new key that does not include a remote for door locks/unlocks. They programmed the new key so that the car will start with it which is what I wanted however now i cant remotely unlock my car. Is there a way for me to purchase a separate remote and program it without undoing the immobilizer? I.e have the new key they made and a separate remote for locking/unlocking?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  Před 3 lety

      Most emergency services do that to get you on your way. It's impossible to stock the thousands of different remote key combos.
      Best thing to do is head into a locksmith shop. They'll be able to order you the remote/key, k copy it and add it to your vehicle for a lot less than it cost to get that original key made.

    • @westernlocksmith5474
      @westernlocksmith5474 Před 3 lety +3

      You don't get your key programmed to your car if it's a VATs key. If you already know your existing key's resister value, I think if's from 1 through 15 or so, you just buy the right key blank with that resister value. Then get that key duplicated from the original key that's working. If you don't have a working key then you will have to get the ignition cylinder pulled then cut that VATs key off of the key code stamped on that cylinder then install everything back assuming that you know the resister value your car requires. If you don't know the resister value then it's a different process. Either the locksmith use the VATs decoder and you pay him for his service or you can buy all 15 or so key blanks with different resister value and cut the metal part all same so all the keys turn the ignition then it's guaranteed that one of the 15 keys will work because it has to be one of those 15 VATs resister value. www.google.com/search?q=gm+vats+key+chart&sxsrf=ALeKk03VG0ATwlmXKh0s2CvRYe6QtYBoGw:1618551711816&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=WqnoprD2kQ6S9M%252C7XVG2HpIErDCVM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kQHcdIadIQF7Cm8I43BtydecTn6qA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwip99T-hoLwAhVBvJ4KHYz2B0MQ9QF6BAgPEAE&biw=1920&bih=947#imgrc=WqnoprD2kQ6S9M It shows the resister values of the VATs keys. What I did when I couldn't afford to buy the VATs decoder was that I bought a variable resister potentiometer for 10 bucks or so and connected in line with the orange wires that is ran from the ignition to the car. I dialed it until I see the resister value falling into each value on the multimeter then turned the key without the VATs pallet. If it doesn't start then turn the dial to the next value and turn the ignition. There is a 4 or 10 minutes shutdown time between each attempt so it could take up to a couple of hours. Eventually the car will start. It's basically what the VATS decoder does but costs $300. It's your choice now at that point. You can leave that potentiometer there and use a regular key without the pallet or you buy the key blank with that resister value and make a copy of it then remove the potentiometer. ***It happened to me when I was making a key for a lady that when I removed the potentiometer while the car was running I was able to turn off and start the car without the VATs key, basically I disabled the VATS system sort of. Accidental discovery and not sure you can repeat that process. I forgot whether I connected the orange wire back or not but you can try without connecting it back and connected back. It's my two cents. Sorry it's two months late but I just found you comment.

      Doesn't sound like the guy knows what he's talking about. There are some keys you can add to the car yourself. Especially older ones. We provide those instructions on our website when you can do it yourself. Most newer cars will require a computer interface though.
      We try to stay competitive with our key pricing, but as with most things, I am sure you can find them online someplace for less. A lot of our customers prefer supporting a small, US, veteran-run business than sending the money to some CEO someplace to pay for his next yacht or out of the country.
