      Hi John, thanks so much I appreciate that 👌 Yes you can never overlook the importance of practicality, especially on a motorcycle. Of course depends on what you want to use it for but I like a practical bike as well. Cheers

    Hi Angus, the issues you are describing, like the heat of the engine and knocking it too easy in neutral couple of times, have been solved already on the 2022 version of the FTR 1200 Rally. Looking at the bike you've ride, it is not the 2022 but the 2020 version. I see some visible differences with the FTR 1200 Rally I have and I bought mine 2 months ago being a 2022 version. And I love this bike like you do. Thanks for the positive review.

    • @redangrevival
      @redangrevival  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi, that is good news 👍 Great to hear that Indian have addressed some of the issue fairly quickly. The heat from the engine was very intense! Glad you liked the review and I hope you continue to enjoy your bike.

    I have a Rally and love it, works well just cruising around but plenty of go when you want it. Like a lot of modern bikes an end can makes a wee bit of difference to weight and noise. Dislikes, it has a small tank and being under the seat takes a while to fill. You mentioned the heat I believe the 22 models have wider air intake on the rad and rear cylinder deactivation

    • @redangrevival
      @redangrevival  Před 2 lety

      Its a great bike I was surprised by it 👍 Not to crazy fast but plenty to have fun with and its actually very comfortable for cruising around. I am impressed with the Indian 1200cc engine as well. It was very hot! I hope the air intake helps to reduce the heat a bit. Cheers

    Another great review. I saw these in the US and they look tiny compared to Indian’s massive cruisers. The flat tracker style is really cool and the basis for many custom bikes. Harley’s XR 750 is a pretty bike and later homages to the flat tracker genre. This looks more coherent but, like you, I wouldn’t venture off road.

      Hi Ian, thanks so much really pleased you liked the review 👍 Yes it is very different to the traditional cruiser style Indians, I was impressed with it. A very cool and fun motorbike.

    Was wondering when you'd saddle up on an Indian! :D And what a one for it, too. The FTR rally is a real looker, too (best of the FTR1200s IMO). Great review as per. :)

      Thanks Charlie, glad you enjoyed the review 👍 Yup it has been a long time coming to ride an Indian! This has been on the list for a while now, was not let down. Very impressed with their 1200cc V Twin engine. Completely agree this is the best looking FTR1200. Would like to ride one of their cruisers next. Cheers

    I think Indian makes some of the most beautiful machines on the road today - but we all have our preferences.
    Heat seems to be a signature of Indians. I love Indian, but I must admit that heat issue got me seriously thinking about the Speedmaster again. I don't hear it as much from the Scout owners, but it happens. I hear it a lot from the big bike owners. I haven't dug into the issue, but I don't recall hearing a lot of heat complaints from Harley owners. That could be that I haven't looked closely, as Harley has never been on my buy list.

    • @redangrevival
      @redangrevival  Před 2 lety

      👍 Same I really like their style of design, great classic American styling. It was very hot! I think it may be the FTR1200 and other Indians are not as hot. Same I haven't heard any complaints about heat from Harley owners either.
      Apparently Indian have given it a wider air box for 2022 models so perhaps that will help with the heat issue. Cheers

    i’m only 6’2 and i found the ftr to be quite cramped for some reason? the rider triangle is just slightly off and the bike is kind of small in person, couldn’t really put my finger on it. My suspicion is that the seat to peg distance is too short compared to something like a duke, much less a super adventure.
    Also, it doesn’t have switchable ABS.

    Indian has a 'habit' of overrating their HP and torque by about 15%. There are enough dyno results from folks for this to hold up.
