Hi Joan. Thanks for your lovely comment. Most things are simple when you know how. I found a great video a few years ago, which explained in seam pockets and that’s how I’ve continued to insert them. I’m glad you found my video helpful 😊

A lovely dress, the style fit and colour are perfect for you and so versatile for all different fabrics and patterns. It is so good to be able to find a style that suits you and be able to adapt it as you feel. I struggle to find dresses that fit as have a high waist line, perhaps I need to try my hand at making my own too. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Michelle. I have a low waist and find shop bought clothes don’t fit me well. I’d highly recommend making your own clothes. It’s been great for me. 😊

Loved this sew along Sarah. The other week I started watching a few of your older podcasts featuring your sewing adventures and it was such great inspiration for me as I've had a sewing machine and overlocker for a long time but I don't feel confident making anything other than a wheat bag. I've booked in an intro sewing workshop in June where we get to make pyjamas.

That fabric is so beautiful , such a fine gift 😍 i was a bit worried how it would turn out without the darts in the side for breast when I saw the gap in the armholes , but your made it work , it looks good on you 😍 you made a beautiful dress 👗 Thank you for sharing the process ❤️

Absolutely love it. I thought that the pattern match on the bodice might be a problem when you pointed it out at the beginning but it is absolutely fine and a very beautiful well fitted dress. I love it.

Your dress turned out really well and it has the ease that you wanted without swamping you. Love that duck egg blue colour. I wonder perhaps if you use a twin needle to make your double row of gathering stitches on the skirt then you could make the stitches in one pass to save time & effort if you understand what I mean. Just a thought. 😊

Hi Lucy. Thanks for watching. I’ve just looked through my patterns and I have the Sudley! Must make that next. Lots of variations to the neck and can have the tie at the front or back. Thanks for reminding me that I have it in my stash 😊

Sarah thanks for the sew a long, your so calm and relaxed. I went ahead with trying to make the indigo top, when you leave out the bust darts do you alter the length of the front and back bodice pieces? I didn’t and so put in the darts😢so not right for me, not sure if it can be saved. But just to clarify what you do when you leave darts out please as I also want to try this pattern xx
Hi Carol. Thanks for watching. I keep the bodice pattern the same. I just don’t put in darts. It may not be the right way but I like to keep things as simple as possible. Hope that helps. I’ve done this with a variety of patterns if I want a looser fit 😊

Lovely fabric Sarah you made a decent job but I think it pulls across the top bust. I think you should have lengthened the bust area and added a dart. Large busts are quite awkward to get fitting correct. ❤
