I don’t mind Lisa being smart but why not have her act like a kid at the same time? It would make her more interesting in my opinion instead of the smart alleck from the newer seasons
The problem is, later on the creator of the show wanted the characters to behave in a more refined way and in our culture it means less human - like. Therefore, in the show, kids couldn't be kids anymore, unless it had to have value for the satirical message. Homer's anger was now of only comedic value and his intelligence was slowly being traded off for comedic stupidity as well. Same with many other characters. The Simpsons slowly drifted away from realism by going more into realism, and more into satire. I know, it sounds dumb, but its just how it works. Stay with me here. At the beggining, it was a show about a couple of humans interreacting with each other. Through that, we could learn what the author thought about the world, because he had basically created a miniverse that happened in his mind, which we could observe in a cartoon-like form. Later on however, the thing happened and it was no longer about characters, and more about the message or basically, the moral. Guess which thing I prefered. - Humanity or Moral? I think it's easy. I'm certain you know it. It's so easy to grasp how much I prefer the previous, than the latter, because in the end, moral happens in a dead world of a pretentious author. Humanity is presented by the humanity itself present within the creators and constructors, but BBC or whatever the fuck it was, they probably all belong to one guy, anyway, wanted it all to corrupt minds and guide everyone towards a simple, very easy to understand and probably wrong conclusion, that right now, no one cares about, because it's stupid. That's how I perceive The Simpsons, a slowly fading away ship that was destined to fall, because its creator was so toxic he could not help himself from destroying that which made him unique, his humanity. He slowly and slowly ran towards the light, that pretentious morale or a conclusion that everyone could learn from, that he killed what made his show his own and yes, I do know that more than one guy made this show, that there was a whole cast of writters, actors and animators, as well, working together to form this semi-masterpiece, but at the same time, they all must have a similliar mindset and yet later on they went on to different projects, cuz it was no fun to do this anymore.

It's funny to see Lisa act like a kid again and actually making trouble with Bart

i do agree with you

Matt Thornton in stead of why you little homer said why those little
