Arsenal 2-1 Leicester 2003-04 (The Invincibles)

- They said it could not be done. But Arsenal just needed to avoid defeat against Leicester on the final day of the 2003-04 season to remain undefeated for the whole league campaign - a feat not achieved in the English top flight since Preston in 1888-89. Alan Parry and Brian Marwood were in the commentary box.

That pass from Bergkamp to set up the winning goal was absolutely magical.
After liverpool got defeated by Watford today... i came back to watch this in tears
Since English football began , play 38 , draw 12 , lost excatly None. 😢
🛑😂
😂 coyg
Arsenal are not a true English side. Full of non natives
@@EricMcCurrySharonGodwinSlayer Boy, no modern team is a true English team then?

Whos here after liverpool defeat to watford?????
😂 😂 😂 Here I am
who's here after liverpool's loss against watford
they won the only special editon gold trophy
Preston North End too in 1888-89
@@bakaweiner6956 Who cares ? It's still remaining and it still counting ! Preston North End The Invincibles !
Other K in the premier league not the first division
Shirosaki Ayumu you should have said centuries
@@axtroAFC You guys arguing when we all know that Man United 99 Treble winners are the greatest English side of all time.
I love how Henry pulls the one sensible defender forward for the second goal. He's see the run and the pass coming but his center back partner was caught ball watching or simply unable to comprehend/cope with the late midfield runner. A perfect move, really nicely done.
Imagine leaving this match and being told that this would be Arsenal's last title to date and Leicester would win the league during that time.
lol
Why would that even been talked about? Very weird.
@@jaxcoss5790 No but if you time travelled back to 2004 and told Arsenal supporters and players that this relegated Leicester side would win the PL before Arsenal ever do again, I'm pretty sure everybody would start laughing, even the Leicester supporters and players 😂
SPOILER ALERT:
The team got relegated in 2003/04 wins an impossible accomplishment 12 years later......
Yeah we get it you vape.
1:04 look at how confident Wenger was
If Vieira wanted to he could have had double figures a season. But he knew that he had lethal forwards and also he understood the importance of controlling the game in midfield. Whenever he did surge forward on or off the ball he was unstoppable.
I'm a Liverpool fan & I'm not ashamed to admit that I was really hoping we would accomplish this amazing feat also but Watford slapped us good & proper & now since then we're out of the FA Cup to Chelsea & out of the CL to Atletico all in the space of an awful, shitty, miserable few weeks.
Football eh! You lot should always be proud of this achievement, it truly was special.
Tks for been honest mate, I am an die hard Arsenal fan, thought you had it in the bag too.
@@jamtalawah2231 Mate at this rate with the Coronavirus I don't even know if we will be allowed to finish the season & become Champions (the least we deserve after 2 unbelievable seasons back to back).
Honestly I think my club is cursed.
Alan parry voice was a joy to hear .
Its 2018, and at 9:15, that gave me chills. Thanks for the memories!
That Vieira run and Bergkamp pass. Pure sex.
I wonder how much time was put in on the training ground to make that look as effortless as it did. Bergkamp knew where was Vieira was going, and Vieira knew where the ball would be. I've rewatched that particular play so many times. When Wenger would talk about artistry and creative expression on the pitch, this is what he meant.
I was 7 when I saw this. Its one of the earliest memories I have of watching arsenal. I can still remember everything about that day to the tiniest detail, and then I realise that was 17 years ago. It's crazy how quick time goes by.
The greatest team in premier League history.... And I say this in 2021. No team will ever match their quality
Anyone here after Liverpool fluffed it against Watford?
In 2004 a relegated Leicester side would win the Premier League before this invincible Arsenal side...
👀
D AK the invincibles won the league....
He means Leicester won the premier league before arsenal after 03/04 season
But can they do it unbeaten though?
@@mr-ov5gt lmfaoooo fucking stop. liverpool will never be premier league champions let alone invincibles
@@bartoszpiechota6903 they have all wins 1 draw and 0 loss in 23 games? bro im scared asf
I remembered watching this live and at the 5:50 mark where Bergkamp's through ball sent Vieira clear. A "magic ball" indeed
Before Tottenham, Man City were top teams and back when Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool were the top teams. Newcastle and Aston Villa did alright as well as Charlton and Bolton. How times change.
James is Sassy Not chelsea, they only became good like late 2004 when mourinho appointed
I was 19 at that time and still remember the moment watching Arsenal won as invincibles.
Now that joy and feeling are no more by watching the 2020 version of Arsenal.
I will miss this team forever.
Coming back to this in 2022!!!

That pass from Dennis Bergkamp ❤️❤️❤️
We are the envy of the league !!! Only gold premier title !!!
whatever happens, there will never be a team like that again in the league or the world! henry was our king, dennis was our maestro, and vierra was our rock in midfield, and everyone foughtf or each other, look at world cup winner: pirez, henry, vierra, gilberto, edu amazing!
@@jamilakafitness6247 Relax. Juventus, FC Porto, (Twice in 2010/11 and 2012/13) Celtic and one Greek team have gone an entire league season unbeaten. Correct yourself by saying no team in England will do it again. Not in the World.

That ball from Dennis to Ashley that led to the penalty!!!
Came here after our heartbreaking defeat against Chelsea in the Europa League final 2018/2019. If only we had this squad for this season, we would still most likely be in the Champions League.
A simpler time
Tell me this doesn't give goosebumps
" The Title & a place in History belongs to Arsenal. "

To think Leicester will likely win the league again before Arsenal.
+hurley31 ....and also to think that Arsenal defensive standout Ashley Cole would later wind up signing with Chelsea and winning the UEFA Champions League in 2012 and then now be playing for the L.A. Galaxy of Major League Soccer here in the States. #COYG!!!
+Ray Jackson you say that as if you're praising that snake, enjoy him while you've got him because he could easily cut all ties and move to the NY red bulls
Fuck that shit, I am a Gooner 'til I die (since 2013) and The Invincibles were one of many reasons why (their O2-sponsored shirts were another) I became a Gooner, as for Ca$hley Cole, he should NEVER have taken Roman Abramovich's filthy Russian Mafia money and signed with Chel$ki, I have read how that move ired many-a-Gooner. #COYF'n'G!!!
....and actually when it comes to MLS, I am a Seattle Sounders fan here in the Northwest.
Ray Jackson, he won the champions' league with chelsea...so shut your gaps and sit down...
Thank you Wengar
Not matter what others say about the invincibles that they drew 12 games and only won 1 trophy . Going unbeaten the entrie season is reall tough , every other club wants to see you lose just like Liverpool against Watford .
We will be champions again and again❤🎉
wenger build them a new stadium, and they use the new stadium to put wenger out banner, how ironic
we had viera, now we have elneny. we had pires, now we have welbeck. we had sol campbell, now we have mustafi. we're not winning shit
Croatian Bear And now we have replaced him with partey 😉
Is your’s gold?

Have you done The Treble and won the 3 biggest trophies in the space of 10 days? Premier League, FA Cup and The Champions League?

Of course
How can you beat a 0 defeats record lmao
0-1 Paul Dickov (26 min)
1-1 Thierry Henry (47 min (PK))
2-1 Patrick Viera (66 min)
It's a moot point of course, but Dickov's goal looked offside to me
