After working for my Uncle for 2 years at he's car washes I really wanted my own and I came across this car wash. It was completely shutdown for many years so I approached the owner of the land and made a deal with him.
It took me 6 weeks to bring it back to life and open it and now the customers are starting to pour in. Not to mention I opened it during winter so I am yet. to see its full potential but here's a small taste of how its going so far!

I worked at Truck/RV Wash for 22 years supervising and Managing at the highest quality of work in California out of Fresno. a buddy of mine which was the senior manager at the time moved on to open His own metal polishing/detailing shop I followed him and did that for 4 years as manager til I got a job with the Post Office for benefits. But I still have the drive for detailing on the side as a hobby but I have a dream and a itch to own my own car wash business. This is motivating.

I just bought a shut down carwash , been down 5 years, all the equipment is there,minus a few hoses. Needs a lil work but i think it will be good. Maintenance, chemical usage, vacuums not having good suction, wand tips breaking, pits need to be cleaned out, machines breaking, etc. Oh and weather dictates volume. Have a rainy week ahead? Say goodbye to good volume, hopefully you saved money.

Great video! Very inspirational for those looking to follow the same path but is it worth it? Mind indicating how much is your expenses for those 6 days? Water cost/electricity/restocking supplies etc that way folks know if it’s worth it as most of that money you just obtained is going right back out for the purpose of maintaining the business. Car wash employees also make a lot of money in tips they usually make $24/hr with tips and hourly combined it’s crazy.

@@CarWashChronicles I work at a full service car wash and it’s pretty decent money. Some of the customers can be very difficult though it takes patience sometimes.

Bill changer....someone puts in a buck and they get a buck worth of change, no profit with the bill changer right? So, your counted money is gross then after expenses, you will learn your net profit.
Where i live they shut 2 of them down and sold the lots..only have a few now and never anyone at them..

Most retail businesses are lucky if they make 10% profit by the end of the year. 20% and you doing awesome. I would say at best the place might profit $800 a week average with that amount of business.

Interesting that you have extra quarters. Other coin operated places always keep theirs.
That’s because they dispense quarters from their bill Changers and can’t afford to run out. I use tokens so all my quarters go to the bank 👍🏻

Have you ever looked into solar panels to cut down on the electric bill. Lots of sun and a big flat roof seems doable. But that’s also another startup expense.

No coin shortage issues like as of late.
$1 = 1 token so easier for customer to put in 2 coins instead of 8 which leads to less coin jams.

there are so many car washes in that area, surprised they can make it. What's the car wash saturation limit for a given area? they are such easy structures to build, can't be hard to put one up on a vacant lot, I bet the permits for a new car wash are hard to get.
can't you just use one big triplex pump for all the bays? what about solar water heating?
