Last lap was superb! Great job! Really!
I didn't think someone would make me rethink selling my track prepped F87...but I'm gonna be following this closely. Solid work, great video!!!
What an amazing team and love watching you pushing the car !
The aero kit is looking good , cant wait for the release of final produce.
Amazing car !!! Great work , Congratulations !!!!!
Well done guys. Love seeing these videos with data
Jackie your M2 is GOALS!. I Look forward to seeing you break some crazy times!!
wow to me this actually makes the new m2 beautiful
Can't wait to see how this M2 kicks ass like the A90 did!
WHAT???? THE CAR LOOKS SO FIRE!!!!!⛽⛽⛽⛽⛽🔥
We wholeheartedly agree 🔥🔥
Nice job guys , the car look awsome.
Thanks. This is my home track along with NCM. I'll try and stay on your line next time I'm out.
Absolutely love it!
That is the most beautiful m2 out right now
We always say function over form, but sometimes you can have both! Hah
Jackie was flying! especially on the last lap with 11.6 looked on the absolute edge. The aero setup is actually better than expected almost 2 secs faster than non-aero on such as short track is very impressive. Once Jackie get some more track time and car fine tune it wont be long until some wins start coming in.
This isn't even it's final form. Wait until that diffuser shows up!
Still early days with the car I think. Much like how the Supra became a noticeable amount faster with an even more extreme aero package, I think the M2 can benefit from a lot of those, plus more setup time too!!
@@JackieDing86 I know but the fact that this aero kit improved the car by so much even with the limited running you guys had and missing the diffuser just speaks volumes.
Car looks amazing
The car
looks amazing
Super cool. It feels heavy
Love you love the m2 ❤❤❤
You just got a new subscriber, keep up the good work
Welcome!!
Saw Chris Harris glowing review of the stock version, your car is a beast!
I loved that review too. He’s great to watch!
"My middle name is 'high-yaw'..." -well timed and great sense of humor. :)
was not an initial fan of the m2, but now i am, that thing is so sick
In jackie ding we trust, he can make anything cool af
As Jeremy Clarkson once said, looking good is more important than looking where you’re going 🤣
I came to the comments and y’all FAILED!! “My middle name is Hi-Yaw” is so CRAZY on sooo many levels (car looks sick btw)
The front end looks good now. Reminds me of the R34 xD
I see Camaro ZL1 also lol
What a great comparison
Lmao early mornin wake n bake sesh and I seen the center exit exhaust mid puff, caught me so off guard bruh, but I was able to appreciate it after I stopped coughing 👌🏿😂 3:53
Hoping that Verus comes out with a kit for the G42 M240i! Haven’t seen anything yet that is worth buying available for that car yet, but this is legit the best looking M2 around!
Pretty sure the rear wing kit for the M2 will fit the G42 since the trunk lid is the same. Might need to test fit that
3:03 my man got balls of steel. Hopefully ya upgrade the trunk struts in the future
Team PHD for Emperor!
You’re insane. I love how you are literally playing Grand Turismo IRL. You start off OEM then do the upgrades as you earn credits!!! 😂🎉
This is literally Gran Turismo except it costs us credits to race 🤣
Should think about getting the CSL ZF8 software, it much improves the characteristics of the car!
Considering it a little, we'll see if we do it over the winter!
Jackie Hiyaw Ding here!
I had no interest in the G87 with the looks, screens, and added weight. I figured it wasn't worth offing my f87 for. But with this aerokit, the car is transformed, looks like a factory race car I love it! Might have to start shopping....
Pls have valves on the rear section so I can stealthboi leaving the neighborhood before going hotboi. pls and thanks.
haaaa... beutiful bodyparts...
Didn’t like the car’s design initially. Man this car looks insane with all the aero with lowered stance
Like it was meant to be, hah
@@JackieDing86Would love to see M factory racing model with all the GT4 class regs
time for some horsepowerrrr
also possibly a better sounding exhaust 😅
quick question, why is the engine setting at comfort?
Will you be bringing this car out to Super Lap Battle at COTA next year?
Yep, that’s the plan!!
Would a less aggressive TC setting help with getting some free-ness back in the rear?
Yes I think so. However I was really trying to feel the car in terms of balance-wise instead of just resorting to heavy right foot hah. That’s more of a bandaid than a permanent solution.
Wouldn't a rear-biased aero downforce cause understeer? Maybe reducing rear wing angle a bit (thus reducing rear downforce) would result in better balance? It could also make the rear a bit looser and easier to rotate.
Either that or increase front downforce, but that would be more difficult (add rake while reducing rear wing angle)?
You have to consider aero balance being a dynamic thing. Most of the CFD usually only shows a static calculation. However IRF, slightest change in car’s pitch(ie under braking), body roll, cross wind, etc etc. will change the actual aero balance of the car. So having a slightly rear-bias aero balance(typically 5-10% more in the rear) is usually better for driver confidence since it makes the car more predictable under different circumstances.
Jimmy “High-Yaw” Digs
My middle name is Hi Yaw 😂😂😂😂😂
What trailer model is that? Looks nice
It's a Futura!
Higher spring rate, wheel well vents and give it a Ventura tunnel. U will be on ur way to 1min8
Pretty much all on our list!
I like this better than the supra.
wonder if its better?
The rear mufler delete is a good choise? The rear mufler looked like an areo part, like a diffusor. ?
OEM muffler sure acts like a diffuser. We're going to build an even better diffuser!
@@JackieDing86 cool! :)
M2 GTR
Hey I noticed your driving with the power train in efficient what’s the reasoning behind that?
Copy pasted from earlier comments:
So the reason why I prefer the comfort setting on engine is the aggressive throttle pedal that comes with sport/sport+. It’s great fun on the street but when you need smooth inputs on track and especially to not upset the rear tires in traction zones, it becomes very tricky. Ideally I want Sport + but with comfort setting’s throttle pedal mapping.
TLDR I need the opposite of a pedal commander
What is the name of the rims, they Look fantastic
They are listed here:

hey man! why engine is in "comfort" mode? why no sport? thank you!

What tires were you running here?
305 Nankang CRS
How does this compare to your Supra in track performance?
The M2 has a lot of impressive features and tons of headroom for mods, so we're excited to push it more. It's about 3.5 seconds slower than the Supra (Final form) on this same track so we've still got a lot of work to do, a lot of performance to find hah
Whats the current race weight now ? Is it still pretty hard on brakes and tires ? Like the g87 but the weight is off putting for a hpde car
Half tank of gas, without driver, before the aero pieces, we weighted in at 3607 lbs.
@JackieDing86 nice , how's the tire management and brakes on it at that weight does it seem to go through the consumables quickly?
It’s been really good on consumables to be honest. We killed the OE pads in 4 weekends but once we switched to the CSG pads it’s been killer. Used one set of tires for 3-4 events no problem. It’s been impressivr
@JackieDing86 that's great to hear I might consider getting one in a few years after I'm done with my c7 can't wait to continue watching your build!
when can i buy that wing ? how much is it
Price and availability coming soon!! Stay tuned to our instagram, @phd_racing
What is the current weight of the car?
Before the aero kit & steering wheel we were at 3607 lbs, 1/2 tank of fuel no driver. Most likely added a chunk of weight back in with the aero kit but we’ll weigh it over the winter!
How you finding the oem cooling on the car?
Absolutely rock solid, super stout. Feels like the engine has been detuned… which it has. Haha
Do you roughly know what you going to do engine tuning? Will it effect your lap times? Would you go crazy e.g 700bhp plus?
Yes to tuning. Yes it will affect lap times. Yes we will try to go crazy. Lol
Will it effect lap times make them worst or better, only asking because handling of car is really good at moment with current power levels?
@@jondjemal1935 It really depends and we'll have to see, but one can always add more tire & more aero to handle more power. Feels like the M2 can use more power, too
which track?
Putnam Park in Indiana!
During testing I noticed that you left the engine in comfort, why is that?
So the reason why I prefer the comfort setting on engine is the aggressive throttle pedal that comes with sport/sport+. It’s great fun on the street but when you need smooth inputs on track and especially to not upset the rear tires in traction zones, it becomes very tricky. Ideally I want Sport + but with comfort setting’s throttle pedal mapping.
TLDR I need the opposite of a pedal commander
Completely agree with wanting a more linear throttle mapping - which comes in Comfort. You know...we could use a pedal commander to change the curve even on the other modes....this is something worth investigating.
@@JackieDing86 I read that there are a ton of differences in the maps to engine, wastegate, and valvetronic systems as well. Seems like a shame to disable all of those additional enhancements, maybe a pedal commander would be worth the investment and use it to soften up the throttle response in sport+
We’ll most likely just get a full engine tune, that would be much more worth the effort hah.
@@JackieDing86 for sure, looking forward to seeing your progress with the G87
while i still think the plain jane G87 looks disgusting on street. I must say it needs bonker aeros to suit the design, looks way better now.
You need 700whp! 800 horsepower! Smoke everyone on the track.
How can u afford this stuff? Who backs this?
L
Looks like a GT4 car.
Wish they made a G87 M2 GT4 car but with the M4 I guess that’s never happening lol
It's very much the design criteria. M2 looks better as a GT4 style car than an M4 anyway
@@JackieDing86 I agree the M4 looks great as a GT3 car but the GT4 variant not so much. There will probly be a CS racing variant tho right ?
Would think so, they sold a lot of the old M2 CSR's.
I don't understand when people say that the standard car doesn't look good. The new standard M2 is absolutely stunning in every style aspect. It is not only the best looking BMW car ever, but it's one of the best looking cars that you can find on the market today. The modifications really don't add much but they are OK.
McCafe
It looks great but I gotta be honest, I'm a little disappointed with the size of the spoiler as I was really hoping to see a big park bench on the back of that M2.
Spoilers are like boobies, the bigger they are, the better.
This is just our first version of the aero, meant to be suitable for both street and track uses. Yes of course the *wing* could be bigger but aero balance is actually critical. Huge wing means less balance and that means likely slowly lap times.
hi jackie. why dont you get the alpha n carbon package? would shred minimum 40 kg of your g87. carbon fenders, hood, bootlid
Because that’s like 15-20,000 USD 😂
Hmmmm….I don’t know so much. 😕
My next car will be a G87. And this is my dream build!
Can you share a downloadable version of that render at 1:04. I'd love to use that for my wallpaper. Please @jackieding86 :)
You might have to hit up Verus Engineering for the high res version!
