    International Studies and International Relations ay mga courses na magandang preparation for taking Foreign service officer exam which is to become a ambassador or diplomat someday. Tapos pwede ka din mag-trabaho sa mga embassy or foreign affairs. 🙂☺ Underrated iyang course na yan pero unique at napaka-extraordinary ng courses na iyan. Sa ibang bansa are in-demand iyan and recruiting globally. 😊☺

    BA International Studies Major in Tourism graduate here from San Beda College Alabang 😁 I believe IS and Tourism should be studied hand in hand because in order to go to other places you should know more about their social issues, what is currently happening, their culture and all

      The International Studies Program at San Beda College Alabang currently has three majors: Philippine Government and External Relations, Asia Pacific Studies and Tourism. Yes it is a good school somd of our professors are ambassadors, former undersecretaries at DOT and the likes

      Hi, po! After graduating po, if it's alright to ask, what kind of jobs did you apply for on po? I'm also thinking of taking this course but I'm afraid it won't happen because finding jobs that are in line with IS is hard to find in the Ph :(

    This was my dream course! Since I grew up in a French speaking household, and I had international friends since gradeschool. Korean, Thai, Chinese, American,African from diff parts of Africa, indonesian.. malaysian, Japanese. Etc. But I didnt have the chance to get on this path. It was a different time before unlike these days. Congratulations to those who are pursuing this career.
    Im married to a french man so maybe thats a different kind of foreign relations I got into.

    Super nice content! Will be waiting for some more videos like this, since I'm also considering to pursue this degree :). Quick question tho. After graduating from IR/IS, is it possible to work abroad (aside from being a Diplomat)? Or is it just limited to working in the Philippines?

    Is it true that it is hard to find a job without further studies (master degree/doctorate) if you are an IS/IR graduating student? Considering that your bachelor's degree is not enough to enter the work force.

      And i don't think soooo. I think that connections help in almost (or all) degree to get a job. One friend of mine had an opportunity to be an intern on the ASEAN by just signing up when the said institution is just recruiting online. If you want to expand your connections on the IS/IR field, join MUNs!!! :>

      Model United Nations, puwede kayo magsign up sa kanila then, Magiging representative na kayo ng Philippines, para syang ASEAN or EU (European Union) youth version, same lang ng ginagawa sa ASEAN or EU may public speaking tsaka madaming activities.

      Hello, Nicole. That's okay! However, I think studying HUMSS in SHS gives you an advantage. But it is totally okay if you're from other strands! My friends are from STEM and they adapted well. 😁

      As far as I know, PUP offers IS. :> UP offers Philippine Studies which is a more specialized program naman.
      UE, FEU, San Beda also offer this course! However, I do not have any idea with the amount of fee. But I have heard it has lower tuition daw.
      Maybe try applying for scholarships! Hopefully,, the Ateneo, DLSU, Miriam, and UST have a scholarship program you can apply.

      Economics is a more specified course, I think. IS tackles economy but based on my experience, we focused on the aspect of international economy. IS focuses more on how the world works in terms of culture, politics, society, and international relationships.

      Any college degree is a good pre-law. But personally, yes it is a good pre-law course if you want to pursue law school. 😊
      In SHS, I recommend taking up HUMSS as it would give you a good background in Social Sciences.
