must be a nightmare to search for a movie to watch. I imagine that its paralyzing to make a choice if you have so much to choose from.. My collection isnt even 1% of that of yours. May I ask how do you acquire your movies? Do you get them from thrift shops, garage sales, or do you just purchase them
It never a nightmare to decide what to watch, only a realistic nightmare I’ll never get to watch all the amazing films that have been made. My collection has grown larger than just me now and I hope to open a movie museum in the next couple of years. Then generations will be able to watch, research or just enjoy the film collection. I also have a massive soundtrack, book, toy, poster and memorabilia collection that will be show cased. I’m also hoping to have revolving collections for other collectors and Film Studios. As far as where I get my movies the only answer is ((EVERYWHERE)). Flea markets, pawn shops, record shops, thrift stores, yard sales even personal collections. I travel a lot a always search for places that may carry films. My wife is a saint and helps me when ever she can. We developed a computer list the catalogs everything we have so we can focus on just buying movies we don’t have. I gave this advice to a friend… make as many relationships with people that sell movies as possible, never offer less than they ask and you will always be the first person they contact when they get something new in.
My wife and I developed a catalog system using Google Sheets as the core. It keeps all the programs alphabetical and we assign bin location number. So if we bought a new “w” title like “Witch 2” we would assign it to the last W box that has space let’s say w37. The box system is the best way we have found to keep and protect as many movies as we have.

I don’t question what others spend their money on or how much it cost. Boats, ATVs, Sports Cars, Vacations, ETC. I’m just happy they found something they enjoy in this whirlwind of shit we call LIFE!
@@dreampopculturemuseum is it normal to have dvds 📀 that have coffee stain I have bunch and they still work like new I even hold to the light and there's no pin size holes. So do think it will be ok
@@BassHead1980 as long as the laser can read through the protective layer they will still work. Sometimes they can be resurfaced but sometimes it’s a defect in the plastic. Either way as a collector it’s about the case an artwork. I have a massive CD collection but listen to music streaming all the time. Like anything in life enjoy it while you can is my best advice.
