I'm your host, Darren Van Dam!
This list includes some of my favorite hidden gems on Netflix to recommend as well as my top 10 movies on Netflix right now.
Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.
Thanks for watching! - Zábava

@@ic5442 because it's a CZcams channel in the US. Sorry.
@@ic5442 get a VPN.
Cyberghost is shit. I got them 6 months ago watching you boss. it stopped working a month in. Can't watch Netflix anywhere except the UK. which is ass. it also won't work on my Nvidia shield or Sony TV. Gave them a support ticket. they did nothing with it.
I had to stop the video when you mentioned "Stardust"! I have watched it multiple times. You are right on target with your comments because it feels like "The Princess Bride". Thank you so much for your lists.
Was thinking “it’s been a while since I’ve seen Pans Labyrinth” and then you said “if it’s been awhile since you’ve seen Pans Labyrinth it’s easily the best movie on Netflix”. It’s such a great movie and should be on everyone “WATCHED LIST”.
there really is something about stardust that is executed to perfection for the type of movie it is. the pacing is flawless
Def adding some of these to my watchlist ! Thanks for the list. I love these ! ☺️
Such a great channel find on CZcams! Just subscribed and made my “what to watch” time a lot easier!
Favorite line from superbad " I gotta catch a glimpse of these warlocks "
Camel tail is classic.
I say it at least once a week
I love this channel. I try to make make sure I watch everyone you do on Netflix. With this lockdown stuff, have you ever thought about doing a top 10 series episode? I like movies and all, but I really dig getting into whole series on Netflix like “The Society”, “ Dare Me”, “Shadow & “ Bone”, “Riverdale” etc.
Daniel Day Lewis is retiring from acting. There is no one like him. He was so passionate with his characters.
Stardust is the best Fantasy movie apart from LOTR and the Harry Potter franchise since the turn of the century, and one of the rare instances where the movie is actually significantly better than the book.
Many thanks, Darren, for another great Flick Connection. Bonnie and Clyde and Scarface are top of my list, for revisiting. Your presentation is always a MUST SEE!!! Take care and always look forward to seeing your next blog 💯💯💯
My Top Drug movies:
1: Fear and loathing in las Vegas
2: Trainspotting
3: Blow
4: American Made
5: Limitless
6: Requiem for a dream
Thats all I can think of.
Synchronic is pretty good too
Wolf of Wallstreet
John Dies at the End
Enter the Void is my favorite movie of all time, not for everyone though
I would actually say Hardcore Henry would be in the list and A Scanner Darkly
Add Below zero, The last three hours is also interesting
I love your lists. It's clear your passion for movies and the effort involved shows in the finished product. Thank you for doing this -- especially during the pandemic.
Hey Darren, great list I have had Chef on my watchlist for awhile can't wait to check it out. Have you watched The Woman in the Window? I'd love to get your thoughts about it!
Thank you for the suggestions here, I've seen a good chunk of these too! I'll be seeing the Cloverhitch one, Chef and Rango👍🏼

Thanks for the list, I have multiple of your 11-20 movies in my queue just haven't jumped in yet. Glad to hear they have merit and are worth the time.
Thanks for all your work. Its so hard to find decent movies, especially with the current lack of movies.
The Shadow of Violence - EXCELLENT. It is a Irish film which to me always means quality. It does not disappoint. Very tense.
Nice list!! The one I haven't seen and looks like my type of movie is The Shadow of Violence! Gonna watch very soon!! Gotta ask.....no Shot Caller??
My #1 film recommendation on Netflix is Tom Ford's "A Single Man" starring Colin Firth, Matthew Goode, and Julianne Moore.
The theme song is just out of this world
Great job love your picks (even if if seen most but always find something through you)Thanks I appreciate it
One night I felt like watching a movie but wasn't sure what kind of movie I wanted to watch. So I started Netflix, closed my eyes and just randomly moved around through the movies and after about 10 seconds I started the movie and opened my eyes. I had randomly selected Outpost and what a fantastic flick it turned out to be. One of my top movies I've watched so far in 2021. So glad to see it on one of your lists.
Clovehitch Killer blew the socks off my wife and I. Watched based on your recommendation.
I agree it was creepy and kept my interest the whole way through. And I also watched base on this recommendation.
imma check it out based on this comment
can't watch video g2g
Scarface is an infinitely watchable masterpiece for me. Jaws is another classic that hits the spot.
Thank you ONCE AGAIN Darren! Always looking forward to your recommendations…. You have saved me through this pandemic 🙌🏼🙏🏼 kept a lot of us sane lol
🤘
I would add Kodachrome, Midnight Special, and Hillbilly Elegy to this list. If you haven't watched them, you should.
Clovehitch killer was my favorite on the list. Good one, man. Thank you.
Love your choices. Really like your honesty. Great video. Goodnight.
Thanks for all of your videos, man- I spend a lot of time streaming movies, so I see some pretty subpar ones. Your videos are really helpful in getting a couple of new ideas to check out each time. Much appreciated! When you were listing the best drug crime movies like Scarface, I immediately thought of my favorite Pacino one- Carlito’s Way. That one never gets enough recognition in my opinion, but of course I’m probably a little bit biased- his character’s name is “Carlito Brigante”, and my real name is Mark Brigandi, neither of which seem to pop up too often in the real world. Thanks again for the video!
Hi Darren,
Love the channel.
I live in Japan and often feel like sobbing when many of your recommendations are not available.
The Clovehitch Killer for example!
The title appears when I search but the film is not on Netflix here.
If I were to use Cyber Ghost would I be able to use it to watch it on the USA or UK Netflix smoothly without fear of repercussions?
Advice please and from fellow DVD subscribers.
Absolutely fantastic list! Good job!
Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell were very well matched in Mr. Right. They contribute to what is a very cute, entertaining movie with a lot of violence.
One of my favs!
This is just what I needed bruv. Cheers
Not knowing what it was before watching “The Impossible” was a must see IMO
Bro wat is IMO u mean lmao
In my opinion
Dude you have the BEST movie review/recommend channel on the internet. I don’t know if you edit your own videos or outsource it but the entire production from beginning to end is impeccable! Would you promote my nah just kidding, keep up the good work man
Loved your picks, seen most but will watch the ones I haven’t thanks
I recently found the impossible and hunt for the wilder people and loved them!
Dope list yo. I've watched everything except Sleight and The Shadow of Violence. I'ma check those out. Thank you.
Both are worth a watch
Paused at hugo... watched it all to tears ... now watching the rest of the video 😳.. thanks for that beutiful gem of a movie ...
I always forget about "Hugo" ..SUCH a gorgeous movie with a beautiful story💕
We decided to watch Hugo tonight. After your video recommendations we almost always watch something you suggest. Got a lot of trust in your movie opinions. Keep up the great work.
The OUTPOST is fantastic...best Afghanistan combat movie I have seen and true!
Clovehitch Killer. What a gem! Its 1 of 2 movies I haven't seen before on this list. That and The Shadow of Violence. I guess I'm going to have to watch that next. Keep up the great work your doing!
Darren there is a lot of good movies on Netflix right now… thanks for sharing !!! You make living a better experience. 😇
STAR DUST was utterly amazing !!!
Stardust is great. I recommend reading the Novel
Love your show. You put so much passion in your descriptions of movies. It makes you want to see your
What will always set Scarface apart for me is that no matter how much the main protagonist had, his emotional and psychological issues destined him for tragedy, failure and loss. Although in a far more mundane way, this is a cautionary tale that is applicable for so many people today trying to navigate their way through modern life.
Just watched The Outpost. Great film. Thanks for the recommendation.
Great list! Can't wait to binge these movies!
Man, always look forward to these type of videos Darren! 👍 Found a couple that I haven't seen yet. I'm with ya on the romantic comedies... YUK! 🤮 But Sam Rockwell did a great job in that one. I also thought Outpost was killer (no pun intended ; ). It's cool seeing the evolution of Scott Eastwood as he becomes a better actor. Keep 'em coming my friend! 👌
must be nice to be able to just "become a better actor"
That is a really well-written, kind and friendly comment. Thank you for expressing that. :)
I really enjoy your show. Your
passion for movies and descriptions are awesome.
You make me want to see
the movies ,that you recommend.
Your videos are always awesome, I always get new, awesome movies to watch. Great review style too
Chef, The Impossible, are just fantastic. I’ve watched them multiple times.
Yes..yes you did pull off that Bad Ass Daddy swagger in the thumbnail HAH! Loved it! You just keep adding to our list of Awesome to watch and I am here for it.
Love the new intro music!
So happy Hugo is back on there. It's a favorite of mine. I had seen Bonnie and Clyde on tv a long time ago when I was a little kid. I had watched it with my Mom when it was on tv. And it's become one of my favorite movies of Faye Dunaway along with Mommie Dearest. So I will definitely be watching them this week.
Awesome list! You mentioned the 1967 Bonnie and Clyde which made me think of Emile Hirsch in his modern A&E mini series of the same name. That made me think of a few films he is now on Netflix that are very good. A bit obscure is “Freaks“ with Emile and Bruce Dern. Also Killer Joe. I don’t do romcoms but Sam Rockwell is amazing and he is also great and an underrated movie called Moon. Thanks for the list brother!
Omg! These are some great picks here. Looking forward to checking these out...Thank you so much!🙏🏻
Goodfellas has been my favorite as well for many years. I still get the goosebumps to this day the moment Liotta's voice starts the intro
100%
“As far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a gangster.”
Also can you give list of movies that’s a must rewatch so that it can be used during social discussions
Shutter island is one of my favorites. It’s so beautiful.
Appreciate the tips!
If you like war movies, "Midway" is a pretty good one. A lot of famous actors are in it. It's about the planned attack on midway and how the us navy prevented this. The attack on pearl harbor is also reenacted in this film.
It was an awesome movie
It was shit, watch the original instead.
Hi Derren I'm a big fan of your videos, I use Ghost VPN and no matter witch USA server I use I can't find most of your movies, do you know witch to use?
The list was awesome. I am 50 years old and I have never seen enter the dragon. I have seen a few parts, here and there. Now that I know it's on Netflix. I will be watching it from start to finish. Love that you have Superbad on this list. That is a great movie. And uncut gems. Another great movie, that is a must see. Thanks for putting this list together. Alot of great stuff on this list.
Great suggestions. Please put movies in description so we don’t have to watch your videos w pen & paper in hand to take notes
He always puts the list/links in the first comment
Just rewatch the video if you missed something.🤗
Nice, as I'm sat here with just that!
@@lothar34 true but his reasons for said listing can help me decide whether or not I'm going to take his advice, y'know? 👍
Screen shot...
Hey Darren ...sorry if I missed this answer somewhere in one of your videos .... have you discussed what your preference is .... HBO or HBO Max? I have HBO via Prime but I've been wondering if I should move over to Max.... any thoughts? Thanks
Max has a lot more content for just a few bucks more.
Darren, et al, when you flash the title on the screen, can you add the rating?
Great List. I've been sleeping on "Stardust". I'm about to check it out. Thanks!
Please do, you won't be sorry!
I have been meaning to watch Chef for like 5 years lol
It is fantastic.
good movie
Don't watch on a empty stomach
It’s a great movie. Definitely get some food. Tacos would be a great alternative to the Cuban tortas as far as being satisfying.
You MUST! It's truly a gem.
The top 6 are great... The Outpost is so good...kill the irishman is a true gem... Thanx as always Darren 🤙
Uncut gems was a lot to take in. It pairs well with Parasite though. Goodfellas is my Scarface...nothing touches it, not even the Godfather for me. I can just watch it over and over (and have)
I just finished watching Pan's Labyrinth! What a Movie. I was not sure at first but it is one of the best Fantasy movies I have ever seen. I have to watch it again (shucks!) because it is in spanish and i'm sure I missed stuff. No problem though, I so enjoyed it the first time. Thanks for the recommendations. I've been passing over some of the others on this list but now I will be watching all the ones I haven't seen. Oh, I'm also adding the score to my iTunes playlist,Terrific!
Great list here (as always)
Another great list -- Chef, Enter the Dragon, Wilder People, Superbad, There Will Be Blood...
Awesome list dude!
Uncut gems caught me way off guard and it was fantastic. It’s one that sticks in your head for awhile.
I found that one to be unwatchable. Way too chaotic for my taste
I loved it
Mr Right was funny as hell!!! Thank for the suggestion it made my day!
Glad you enjoyed it
You're so right about Rango, the detail in the animation is on another level. The world in which it's set...amazing, the voice acting...superb. But to me it's the strangeness of the animals and their various quirks and personality traits that really are the icing on the cake.
Edit: and after hearing you say how overrated Scarface is...I've had to subscribe! It is a masterpiece of it's time but just doesn't deserve the acclaim and anti-hero (lol) worship that's laid at it's Cuban heels!
Skux Life! Wilderpeople is so charming, ton of fun and very heartwarming. Stardust & Mr Right have been my wife and I's go to fun movies we love to watch over and over. Great list, lots of favorites all over, specially the top 10.
I can always find something good to watch from your sugggetsions.
Thanks a bunch.
Uncut Gems is EVERYTHING !!!!! 25:45 Adam Sandler should have gotten an Oscar for this.
I knew it would be good but I was very pleased to find it a lot better than expected. Sandler at his 2nd best (Billy Madison was such a stretch character for him that it’s no question his best acting chops) he makes you feel his anxiety throughout the movie. It’s well written and I wouldn’t change any of the actors in it. A+ and a must see!
@@secondbest2877 I'll have to check it out
New release rental was an extremely nostalgic sentence for me.
Damn I always love your recommendations. Thanks dude!
RANGO is fucking amazing! One of my favorite animated movies of all time.
That one is Amazing
@@kayheatmaker2747 is it a kids movie though?
Great list!
You review and help so much. I’m just entertained by your channel!👍👌😄🤞👏🍀
Some Awesome movies here....TOTALLY AGREE about movies I've seen: The Impossible, Stardust & Pan's Labryth. They are AMAZING
Big fan of the Princess Bride, and I seemed to have missed stardust somehow. Great movie, thank you for the recommendation.
Thanks for something new to watch, haven't seen alot of these
Flick Connections’ 19-20 [or 9-10 for smaller lists] has been proven to be the real hidden ones. Thanks a lot for these
I watch A LOT of movies and
Mr. Right is 1 of my all time favorites.
Thanks 4 adding it. 💜💜💜😊
Love your recommendations
Highly recommend Impossible. How the Director and his entire crew pulled this off is remarkable.
Thank you the rich fabric of all the movies.💗
The outpost is excellent
What an excellent list!
Absolutely surprised by the Chef recommendation. What a wonderful film. Great advise on having food ready for viewing. Thanks for the movie ideas.
There's also a TV show on Netflix (UK/IRL) . "the CHEF show" It's a reality show...
" Chef Roy Choi worked on the 2014 movie "Chef," which starred Jon Favreau, who also wrote and directed the flick. Choi and Favreau reunite for this cooking travelogue series. The friends travel to different locales around the world and celebrate different flavors, cultures and people. They experiment with their favorite recipes and techniques, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the entertainment and culinary industries. Favreau and Choi not only embrace their passion for food, but they also showcase their love of bringing people together for a delicious meal. On the journey, the duo shares a meal with members of the "Avengers" cast in Atlanta and smokes brisket in Texas with renowned pitmaster Aaron Franklin."
The Sopranos was like that for me
Superbad is one of my all time favorites
What an inspiration for a small creator like myself, good video😆
Thank you 🙏
