    Awesome video and comparison. You can really hear the difference. You're reving the stock bike much higher to get the same performance. That 270 sounds great, I would definitely make that upgrade now that I've seen what it does. It's also a lot of fun watching you kill it on the track, you really know that track well and it shows. Keep up the great work man!

    those are smart upgrades to pair, the big bore gives a lot more low end power while the stage 2 hot cams are designed specifically to build top end. in theory you’re gaining power on both spectrums

    The big bore 250 either two or four stroke would be very useful for a vet rider/racer. It'll hang with the 450fs and keep the 250s back.

    Is there a description somewhere on what the Hot Cams stage 1 or 2 will accomplish versus the stock cams as far as more low grunt or more high revs? I've searched but can't find anything except actual specs

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  Před 3 lety

      yes, I am sure there is some stuff online. do some research on the forums too, thumper talk will have a lot of good info. Stage 2 is better specially in mid and top, doesnt affect the bottom that much. I had it in 2-3 bikes now and its really noticeable in mid range
      here is some info from MXA:
      Stage 1. In stock trim, the 2013 KX450F already has good power delivery. The Hot Cams’ Stage 1 cams made the powerband more rider-friendly (largely because the Stage 1 cams had 0.64mm less lift on the intake and exhaust valves). Throttle response was improved, which allowed the MXA test riders to power out of corners with little or no drama. There was an increase in power from the bottom to midrange. The Stage 1 cams would best suit a Novice or Vet rider who is looking for a more usable powerband out of the potent KX450F.
      Stage 2. Hot Cams’ Stage 2 cams delivered a big bang (largely because the Stage 2 cams had 0.13mm more lift on the intake valves and 1.78mm more on the exhaust valves). The MXA test riders were shocked by the difference these cams made. The Stage 2 cams delivered improved throttle response with a huge hit in the midrange. The power ramped up fast, and because it went through the powerband faster, it felt like it revved less-but that wasn’t true. The Stage 2 cam makes a significant difference, which you will feel instantly. If you want a faster KX450F, this is the cam for you.

    When you do the big bore and cams do you need to get the bike tuned? I have a 2016 yz250f all stock with a vertex tuner. If i did a big bore would i need to get the ecu reflashed or would i be fine on vertex’s preset “race engine tune”?
