A lot of people don’t like subscription services because they are almost always “bait and switch” setups. You start off low but pricing keeps going up and service keeps going down. Microsoft’s new basic price structure costs more than it did at launch and you no longer get day 1 games.
I always buy Physical yeah it may be expensive sometimes but it better buying a scam that is asubscription service.
Literally nobody is subscribed to core anyway lmao. It really doesn't need to exist.
It sucks but this is life with most services, prices increase over time…
When your ISP doubles the price after you've subscribed for a year is a bait and switch. I don't think adjusting prices to account for inflation counts as a bait and switch.
They're also letting current Game Pass console subscribers keep day one access to Microsoft games so they haven't had their level of service reduced.
@@animalhouse8849 after this I thinking I’m gonna stick with core..
And this is why they want to stop physical and have everyone rely on their servers to play their games, unopposed price increases.
Not to mention you can’t mod a game you stream.
It's not just physical, physical has been useless in many releases these days as games require online for patches and drm.
@@NoBeats_ Game Pass arent usually streamed though.
Because DVD stopped Microsoft from raising games to 60$ 20 years ago and Blu Ray stopped Sony from raising games to 70$ four years ago.
@@pleasedontwatchthese9593 Weve definitely seen a fair uptick in blank (or non existent) disc releases from newer games, mainly from scummy companies like EA, and xbox axing their 1st party (and recently acquired) games. The other consoles though have also seen more games doing that but they have far more physicals that are still playable offline and without patches, not as big of an increase in useless physicals as xbox.
Sony- Okay, but what if we made a controller that changed temperatures?
Also Sony- Brilliant!
Later- Controllers are catching on fire
Is this a thing...?
Better than that one Atari 2600 motion controller that contained FREAKING MERCURY
Game Pass price increase=Black Ops 6 tax
yall will focus on trivial crap like that, meanwhile the main teaser for the game is just insulting you all as sheep for not realizing our "leaders" and presidents have been corrupt for decades. All the while they flash one eye symbolism 5 times in your face in the trailer. Who cares about some game pass price.
Say that all you want but Xbox still gets it day one on Game Pass for free. Ponies can't say the same for their console.
@frodo you still gotta pay for Game Pass lolololol.
Yeah because they're going to have Nicki Minaj and Snoop dog skins. Oh boy and Zombies with the easter eggs and teh hidden song sung by 115 and getting screeched at for not following the orders of some toddler. Ah, Call of Dooty.
More like these companies trying to squeeze more money out of a model that's flatlined and is inherently unprofitable.
The same thing is happening with tv streaming.
Man they did hellblade dirty litterally no advertising
It wasn't exactly high-tier action was it tho 😂
Sure but it's such a short and niche game, it was always going to get most of its players through GamePass.
Since day 1, I KNEW that XBox was *baiting* everyone with their "affordable Game Pass" prices because what they really wanted to do is to first *hook/bait the users with a low price monthly subscription* and THEN, slowly over the years, they continue to incrementally increase their prices until it no longer makes sense to subscribe to such service, but buy then, users who are "used to Game Pass" might find it difficult to switch, so they will have no choice but to keep paying these monthly inflated prices. (Thank god I don't buy into "subscriptions services" no matter what)
I feel like 20 dollars a month just doesn’t make sense if you’re only in it for day one releases. 240 dollars a year is 3 AAA games a year if you bought them outright. How many AAA first party games were dropped into game pass day one this year? They would need to have at least 4-5 big drops a year to make it worth it IMO
And AAA games go on sale all the time. Buy one and then wait for the others to go on sale.
The day one releases haven't exactly been great either
Buy games when they're on sale. For 240, I can pick up to 10 to 15 games a year. And are not stuck to a subscription.
Waiting for Xbox games to be finished development to be good seems to be the best route. You play the full game for $10-$20, no subscription.
Only new games that launched of a high quality from Xbox in the Series era were Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires IV and Hi-Fi Rush. That’s it.
Better to wait a few months until sales. The game is not as broken and you can buy it and resell later if you dont care to keep it. Cheapest way to game, and all it takes is patience.
That SEGA FPGA console is pretty cool
It’s also pretty fake
@@disastermaster1413what do you mean by 'fake'?
Xbox Game Pass increase... Xbox can't keep the fanbase calm for a month without undoing a good move with a questionable one.
Price increase isn't a surprise.
Inflation is a thing 💤
What good move did they "undo"? Nobody likes price increases, but their inevitable across the industry.
@@mikeuk666And inflation never stops so I can't wait to pay $25 actually make that $30 👍
Right after the 7 hour shut down
I’ll never comprehend the game pass business model. Last month I used pc game pass for 27 days then cancelled it for next month. And they gave me the option to just cancel it right that second and give me my money back. So obviously I did that and essentially got 27 free days lol. And no this wasn’t a trial month or anything like that
TBH this might be a glitch so anyone with pc game pass feel free to exploit it lol
Most people are too lazy to cancel. That's really the business model of most subscription services.
Gamepass remains the best value in gaming
@@Kaas465 it’s a huuuuuge value proposition for some people. There’s just rarely anything on it I want to play personally.
I would have bought an Xbox for every household in my immediate family if only they would have included online play with $10/mo GamePass.
But Microsoft was just too greedy to allow people to play with each other for only $10/mo, even though Micorosft broke its word by barring online only games like Sea of Thieves from being played on GamePass, they would never relent from forcing gamers to pay for Microsoft's own lies.
They're punishing the few people who actually picked up an xbox and discouraging anyone else from doing so.
Hellblade 2
Microsoft didn't do any marketing for this game. The only information people got was from tech channels and their news channel about games. Normal people, the majority of players, never heard about this game or don't know what it is. It's a shame that Microsoft continues is so out of touch with the gamer world across all their media.
Microsoft doesn't market anything. They don't even market Game Pass. Ask normal people what Game Pass is. They won't have any idea. Ask them what Netflix is. They'll know.
How do you market a 5 hours game with 2.5 hours of just walking and cinematics? It has barely gameplay to shown each trailer they show with Hellblade 2 its was all about the graphics and mostly cutscenes. Its a tech demo Hifi Rush deserves more marketing than Hellblade 2
To be fair...there isn't alot to market with this game. Its 5 hours of very minimal combat and linear gameplay.
The game was pretty terrible. Nothing about it was fun
But they did market it? I saw commercials on cable tv, twitch, and CZcams. They just didn’t go 100% because they knew it wasn’t going to live up to the hype when everyone realized it could be played in under 6 years hours.
I'm so glad for the price increase on services! Raise it even more please!
I'm laughing so hard at my friends face right now.
He has bought no physical games in this generation and he calls me stupid for still supporting this "archaic" method of playing games.
This is absolutely wild. They cut studios - get backlash, have server issues for half to a full day - get backlash…and their answer is, “We know what we’re doing, here is a price increase.”
3 dollars isn’t a make or break for me considering I’m on the 16.99 tier, but based on me barely using it and them just making terrible decisions with no grounds to do so might be the death knell for my subscription.
I'm not even thinking about it. Their 1st party games are not worth a day one premium.
You can just take that $240 per year you'd spend on game pass and just spend it on steam sales.
Pony detected lmao
@@barkter Better yet GOG sales, at least there youre guaranteed to have the ability to play your game even if their launcher goes down, many steam games are tied to the launcher for it to play so no launcher = no game access, DRM is a wonderous thing.
I'm on 3 months game pass ultimate here in Canada it went from $53 to $58 after taxes. Gawd Dang Black Ops 6. I'm not touching that game with a 10 foot pole.
STOP giving Nintendo ideas about raising their NSO prices!!!
That's why I never "rent" games with subscription services
If you treat video games as experiences and not commodities, not really sure your point. It’s not like people who had game pass all of the sudden had a bad experience with it. They just might not choose to subscribe going forward.
@@Michael.ReillyPrice increase will leave a bad taste in many's.
the wild shift from a SEGA sponsored FPGA system to Nintendo DMCA takedowns is hilarious
What if we all decided to play the games we still own for the next 6 months and leave them with 0 subscribers for that time…. Anyone?…. No?….
Im already following it
That's basically what I do..just wait until Dec/jan. Sub for a month and play all the games you wanted to. Then unsub
If you unsub before the month is over, you'll even get money back 😂
Just sub to PS Plus instead. It's pretty much the same at this point
I'm one of those guys who doesn't even subscribe to begin with. I'm an offline solo player almost exclusively.
Makes sense to me... it would hurt them enough to think about a different strategy. I have over 800 plus games. And most of them I haven't finished. So I'm good for years without being subscribed. I've been unsubscribed gamepass for two 2 years now and never going back!
Having repaired controllers... I wouldn't want to have more components, wires, and expanded boards to allow temp change for buttons. 😂 Sounds like a quality control nightmare.
Think the problem with raising the price for a subscription service to much is that people need to start to think about if they really want to continue having it. If it's cheap they might keep having it year after year without even using it.
Why doesn't Sega just re-release the Dreamcast? Modified of course. Surely it would be cheap to make now?
Very unlikely it would be cheap.
They would need to find places still making disc drives and optical lasers for Dreamcast games.
@@SakuraAvalon I'd agree here, most of the technology used to make it is so old and obsolete, that manufacturers no longer have the necessary parts to make it anymore. Remaking the dreamcast from scratch with newer technology advancements would probably cost just as much than to use the old outdated hardware it originally had, such as a different motherboard and HDMI only support
Edit: and I doubt that Sega kept the original moulds they used for the system and controllers after they dropped out of the market (yes i know about the master system in brazil but that's unrelated as the master system was never discontinued)
@@Obsidian8R It's a sad truth. But it's just too big of investment for even companies bigger than Sega.
This is dumb. Have at the most 2 tiers. Otherwise it’s confusing. Don’t have a “oh if you pay more you’d have the best throw away tier” what the hell is the point of Standard?
I'd love a controller that cools down since my hands become hot in longer play sessions.
I want that Super Sega console to play my physical games in 4K, widescreen and 60Hz!
The Legend of Phillip: Tears of the GamePass
The Legend of GamePass: Tears of the Spencer.
Modders shloud atleast wait till a new system is out before making an emulator.
I don’t think it would be unusual at all. I think Nintendo wants games to continue to support the original switch for at least a couple years. I believe the switch and “switch2” will co-exist for a couple years. They can drop Metroid prime 2 & 3, twilight, wind Waker, Luigi’s mansion every 4 to 6 months so that original switch users will be getting “new” games. Meanwhile, those games will run on the Switch2 which will also be getting exclusive first party games and exclusive third party games that can’t run on the OG switch.
The only other explanation for holding those games back would be to populate a GameCube NSO app.
I think either is possible, but I’m leaning towards NSO, now that they seem to be making an NSO GameCube controller.
So prices go up but the value doesn’t improve….yeah no.
How isnt it improving when every month new games are added?
Mailrobot Games are removed too
@@ShanL2604 Welcome to Cable 2.0.
A lot of rubbish on GamePass anyway.
I really hope the temperature changing controllers end up becoming a thing, just so we can see a wild and wacky variety of gaming mittens!
I guess game pass is no longer the "best deal in gaming". Give that title to NSO
No, PC and Android OS-based gaming are the best deal in gaming.
You don’t have to pay to play online, you got multiple storefronts, lower prices for games than consoles, mod and emulate games freely, and gaming works o a variety of devices and can transfer over freely.
@@faceurhell yea, no. Only PC is the best deal in gaming. The fact you even typed Android as being considered is the most stupid thing ever said. All phone games do is nickel and dime you, buddy. 🤡
Nso sucks ass terrible online and terrible emulation they should fix it
That’s cope
if you want to be technical, the best deal for online gaming on consoles were the wii and wiiu, because it was FREE (also modders have brought some of the servers for some of the games back up too) Ps3 used to be the same case.... "used to be"
I canceled my subscription for two reasons, number one was the first increase in price and the fact that they changed the reward system and screwed me out of my almost 300 week streak.
Number two is I found out that only 360 Games with Gold are playable without a subscription, anything that was Xbox One/Series requires a gamepass sub and internet to play them.
I think a lot more people should be pissed off about the games with gold thing because that is unacceptable, the reason why a lot of us subbed was because of those games and now they're saying we can't play them because random reason.
The thing is with such a digital focus Xbox just isn’t appealing to people as a sole way to play games the amount of truly exclusive games are also an issue for them
It's about to become just Microsoft gaming. Xbox and game pass both about to tap out.
XBOX is Microsoft gaming dude!!! Are you for real???
Next up: PlayStation controllers make the news for catching fire due to a faulty component involved in increasing the temperature of the shoulder buttons.
I’m I the only one still confused by all of those dang tiers…
Nope, Microsoft needs to fire the people who came up with these names. I mean “Gamepass Core” and “Gamepass Standard” is just fucking stupid
Game Pass Core is just "Xbox Live Gold" rebranded (i.e. has online play on console and a few included games).
Game Pass PC is self explanatory I should think (it has PC games).
Game Pass Standard includes the features from Core plus a lot more console games.
Game Pass Ultimate includes everything in the PC and Standard subscriptions (plus day one releases of 1st party games now).
So I don't think it's really that complicated. Not nearly enough to count as a dark pattern anyway. The only thing questionable is the "Core" tier. I guess they really wanted to boost Game Pass's numbers by rolling all existing Xbox Live subscribers into it.
I think the idea of a controller that heats up or gets cold is stupid or possibly the plot of a movie where tech goes wrong.
There did exist an Atari 2600 motion controller that contained mercury, and people back then had a lot of shag carpet in places like living rooms.
Explain to me how the $14.99 Game pass subscription has no day one releases but the $10.99 one does?
because people have already paid for the 10.99 subscription based on the conditions set when they paid for it which includes day 1 games.
Its a nice lawsuit which MS cant really win if they take day 1 games away from people who already paid ahead of time for it based on the service MS had sold to them
There is no $10.99 one, so do you mean Core or PC? Core has no day one, PC does but they also don't have the full library of games.
The 14.99 tier has online play, and the 10.99 doesn't have online play.
@@rickmu1361 okay that makes a lot of sense
@@karimcheese7257 $10.99 also has no day one games.
Gaming industry is missing the biggest factor for the dips and weak sales... the economy isn't strong.
With all this Game Pass mess happening, I would like to remind everyone that Target and Walmart has a very good sale going for physical games.
Not only, that my local Walmart had really good discounts on ps4 and ps5 controllers, I bought 6 at $30 each and a bunch of games at $5 and $10.
This is exactly why I'll never pay for a subscription gaming service. I don't want to get priced out of my entire game library.
I just canceled game pass cant afford these price hikes anymore
The PlayStation is to and the switch
Yup and at the end of it, after spending all that money, you don't own any games.
Everything is increasing in price....
I'll take things that never happened for $500 alex....
@@crisiswaxno one signed up to these ever expected to, you never owned the games you rented from Blockbuster, and yes its pretty much the same thing.
Perfect, now when I'm stuck in a level, I'll have an internal microwave to overheat my controller. Woo hoo!
About Game Pass price increase, both Sony and FCC told you so. Just read their comments in the Activision's aquisition process, and you will know that this is far away from the last one.
Thats what happens when your day 1 on gamepass doesn't make as much as selling the physical games.
I’ve had Xbox since the original Xbox and I’m done with them. Going all in on steam. Long Live the PC.
If you just take all this subscription money and put it into Steam wishlist games on sale you end up with something better.
A bundle? You're dreaming. Twilight Princess HD and Windwaker HD are easily gone to be sold separately at 70 dollars each, if they do come to the Switch 2.
Senua 2 is a frikkin masterpiece of cinematic game design.
I don't understand how these subscription services appeal to anyone lol if you have it for a year you might as well have just bought the 4 or 5 games you played. When you cancel gamepass you lose access to all those games even tho you've paid a lot of money for a subscription
I think it can make sense if you have lots of time available. Personally, I only have time for games on the weekends, and sometimes just for one day. Gamepass is not a good value because I can only commit to one game at a time.
Because the people who get the full value from the passes are not playing only 4 or 5 games per year. Content wise, Game Pass is the best value on the market, as long as you play lots of games. Some folks will go through 4 or 5 games in a month or two (Or even less.).
Its depends on the type of gamer you are. Tracking all the games I have played in past 8 years. I can probably play and complete anywhere from 20-30 games a year. The can be indies to AAA games. And it is very unlikely for me to go back to playing it. And if I do.... It will be many years down the line where it buying it outright will be very cheap
Because you can cancel anytime and get access to the whole catalogue.
It's convenient.
Naturally though this model isn't profitable which is why you're seeing price hikes and curtailing of features.
You… don’t get how subscriptions appeal to users…. That is an idiotic statement. Do you also not see how Spotify, Netflix, and the dozens of other streaming services appeal to people?
Most people don’t give a shit if they own their shit. If they ever did anything with it, it ended up in basements for their moms to sell to gross resellers 20 years later.
I don't own a PC. I've been a console gamer since the 80's. That said, with all of these game consoles pushing subscriptions that include cloud saves & online play, I feel I'm better off joining the PC master race.
Cloud saves + RetroArch were my prayers being answered
Imagine if you could not pay for any subscription and just buy and play the games you want. Oh wait, you can.
Theres only two issues with PC, windows becoming straight up spyware making it a security risk to your privte stuff, and many new games in the TOS demanding they monitor your browsing interactions when the game is closed. Its creepy af and linux seems to be the better place to game now for PC.
I actually got a PS5 recently even though ive been on PC for many years, my console will have faaaaar less personal details for these games to take than my PC so its definitely worth keeping, just dont pay for subscriptions and its all good.
I’m console til I die, I will never join PC, if one console isn’t aligned with my views I will go worn someone else, i don’t think that’s happening with Nintendo who I’m currently will as a consumer.
I'm commodore 64 master race. It's cheap.
There's no proof WW/TP ports have been postponed or even existed in the first place.
Like I truly think we'll see Silksong before WW/TP Switch ports.
The SuperSega just by having the blessing of Sega it’ll cost more, but because it’s “old” tech and quite niche they can’t overcharge.
And having in mind the same happened with Sonic (Mania) where an independent team decided to do a game and had Sega publishing it, I see that console with a chance of seeing the light of the day
2:48 The DualSense already has half the battery life of an Xbox controller and now Sony is adding a heating element? But since for this to work the L2 and R2 will have to be made out of metal I'm good with that. But I didn't know L2 and R2 are called the shoulder buttons. That would be L1 and R1. L2 and R2 are trigger buttons.
😅👌
That's one thing I always liked about an Xbox controller, the ability to swap out the batteries. If the battery is drained, simply swap it out for a recharged one, or put in a few AA batteries.
On PlayStation, you have to disassemble the controller once the battery goes bad, there's no quick swapping the battery, no swapping in AA batteries. And if you do happen to replace a bad battery with a good one, you have the risk of getting a poor clone replacement if you do not get one directly from Sony (even if they allow you to buy one).
Only way Sony can stop frost forming over the controller 😂

I might be wrong but, didn't gamepass increase sub count only after xbox merged it with xbox live gold? I remember they were around 15m GP subs for some time then they merged and added the other 15m, so gamepass itself hasn't grown for a couple of years
If we're being honest, it was always phenomenally cheap for how much you got for it. Not surprising to see the price rise.

The thing with Game Pass is most of the games are old enough that you can buy them on sale for cheap. So if I pick an old game to play, it's more cost effective to just buy it outright. Otherwise feels like a waste of money. It pretty much only makes sense for games that still cost $60+, and even then, barely. It often takes me years to get through a game. My back catalog across XB, PC, PS5, and Switch is not huge but it's sufficient to keep me entertained for years if I don't need the latest and greatest.
Not having day 1 games would be fine if the price difference is enough. There are so many games available to play as is that it doesn't bother me to wait.

I grew up exclusively with nintendo consoles/games, so I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to cut myself off from them, but gosh darn if their attitude towards emulating doesn’t change I just might. Like I’m sorry I can’t afford to pay $150 for a secondhand game that only works on a console you don’t sell anymore. There will always be people just trying to get stuff for free, but so many people would pay for legacy content (evidenced by NSO somewhat) that I can’t believe they’re pretty much entirely ignoring that market. Yes they have NSO, but a lot of that content wasn’t even produced in this century, and frankly I’m not really interested in 95% of the NES library and probably at least 50% of the SNES library. They should be preserved obviously, but there’s a larger audience for the more recent consoles. And they don’t even offer pokémon 😭😭
This is why I just buy the games I want. I wish we actually owned the games but as I approach my 40’s, I feel less enthused to take part in the modern gaming industry. It was so much better in the 90’s and 2000’s when there was freedom and choice and ownership.
It's funny when Playstation remodelled Playstation plus Xbox fanboys laughed about the tiers now look, when Playstation plus got a price increase Xbox fanboys laughed now look.
Yup and I’m still laughing and never subscribing to PlayStation plus. Gamepass is still the better value and we all expected price increases because they keep adding value to it, unlike PS plus.
@@lpsoldi3r That's hilarious that you admit you love been scammed so they jack up the price and won't give day one games so basically a worse more expensive version of playstation plus.
@@Revon13 huh? I’m still getting day one games buddy. I am not getting scammed lol. You are just salty you can’t afford it or you’re just a PS fanboy.
@@lpsoldi3r Salty over something I've had for years that I'm gonna stop using once it runs out in September? Yea okay kid. Xbox fanboys will literally blame everyone else but Xbox.
@@Revon13 hey man it’s ok. You can’t afford it anymore. You had a good run with it. Not everyone is gonna stick around, but for many other people is still a hell of a value.
Just don’t compare this to PS plus when they’re not really on the same tier.
Hellblade 2 isn’t a game. It’s a tech demo.
My hands get sweaty during intense gaming moments so a cooling controller would be amazing for me 🙂
It seems like people seem to forget you can sign up and cancel Gamepass whenever you want. Gamepass is still a great deal but it just might not be ideal to pay for it all year. Unless you use it all the time of course.
Although I’ve already played Hi-Fi Rush on Game Pass, I want that physical copy for PS5…yet here I am waitin’ for Limited Run to even announce preorders. At this rate, I won’t have that physical copy until 2026, if ever.
Same, I was super excited to play it cause they still havent removed denuvo on the steam version, now it feels like they might axe those plans but then again, LRG takes forever for anything.. the windows explorer of stores lol
I'm waiting for that physical release too.
Does it have any dualsense features on the PS5 edition?
@@VEN0M415 - With Tango dissolved, I kinda expected LRG to announce they were gonna cancel the physical release. Since they didn’t announce it yet, and I believe both Tango and LRG both said they were still gonna do the release, I have no choice but to wait.
@@TonyTynebridge - Yup, it utilizes the haptics.
The "No Day-1 games" price tier exists as a price anchor to push people towards the pricier tier with Day-1 games.
What?
You say pricier, lol it's 17 a month at the moment for ultimate and hell if it goes up to the 20 or 25 a month so what. Dude ultimate is over 500 games you're able the play and guess what you don't have to buy gamepass, you can buy games lol. I love doing both.
What it pushes me towards to is "Don't subscribe at all".
Xbox punishing people for entering their ecosystem is bananas
There was a DVD firmware project that was aimed at reading giga discs years ago. I think they were also looking into trying to burn or press a compatible disc with higher storage capacity but again that was years ago. Idk where they are now.
A temperature changing controller sounds stupid. I don't want my controller burning me or giving me frostbite. That's one surefire way to make sure I'd never pick up another PS controller.
Ninja Theory can go if all they’re going to do is essentially make an interactive movie and care more about visuals than gameplay. That was such a disappointing sequel. Swear Xbox gotta be cursed.
Being able to keep the controller cool would be super nice for sweaty handed fellas, it sounds super cringy immersion wise but practically it sounds useful
Also the heating controller function would be great for those that live in areas w/ poor heating. Japanese toilets are amazing during the winter so imagine this new function would likely be much appreciated for similar situations.
Game Pass Ultimate:$20 per month = $240 per year
PS Plus Premium: $160 per year
How much is Day One releases are worth it to you?
You also forgot that PS Plus has like no games, so the real question is how much is having modern games worth to you?
Day One games and EA Play
If you on Playstation its because they make banger AAA games like Spiderman 2, Ragnarok and.... thats about it really for this generation Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch?
regardless of that tangent
If you wanted to play the PS games, you paying $160 per year and its been nearly 2 years and Ragnarok is still on on the service. So you paying $70 for it
So you really paying $160+ (70 per PS release you want to play)
For this year if Xbox followed PS model
Its $160+ Hellblade $50 + Indiana Jones $70, Avowed 60-70
So $340 but wait CoD thats another $70, so $410 have you started seeing the problem yet?
@@functionatthejunctionFor the first part of the question, that’s complete bs. For the other part, not $240 a year for its current offerings.
Ninja Theory seem to forget they're in the business of producing a video game. Not movies and not tech demos.
Facts! Very sad to see
You could say the same about Microsoft and Sony as a whole, Nintendo is the only one who understands that they are producing video games not interactive movies and tech demos.
A week away from the arguably biggest story in gaming this decade - the return of college football 25 and a > 80 metacritic rating for a football game
I feel SEGA should do what Atari is doing right now. Re-release one of their consoles and sell games for it or if they allow the Super SEGA console to release they can just reprint rare games that you cannot purchase for a decent price anymore.
Sad to say, but with all the missteps of Microsoft along with the sales showing the series is lagging behind the xbone, and their push into having their games everywhere, I can honestly see Microsoft dropping out of the console space in the next couple of generations
That's 20 years
@@jdrobin1 when you consider Microsoft have stated they want the next generation to start by the end of 2026, it's potentially less than 10 years
Microsoft has been a distant 3rd for two gens straight now.
If they weren't literally one of the richest companies on Earth Xbox would already be dead.
Gamepass and digital killed Hellblade. Oh, and not being on PS5
yep, its the same reason Final Fantasy is selling lower than expectations. Take a multiplat game in FF15 then chop off a 1-3mil sales from Xbox and PC but then go huh why didnt we sell that extra millions of copies like FF15 did
I wish they would include the Sega CD, and 32X. That would make the ultimate Sega console!!!
This is actually a good thing. I hope GamePass will end up costing $40+ a month. The sooner Subscription services die the better it is for us as consumers.
@@Ioannis.Stf.1996 Online subscription still exists and PlayStation increased prices without giving anything extra.
Those online subscription prices will still increase.
Literally how
... "better for us old farts". 😅 I'm on your side, don't worry. 😊
@@jumpyman9754because then they have to start lowering prices or stop focusing on live services and actually make games with higher quality like they did back then.
Physical games need downloads and update to work.
As someone who buys CoD every year since 07, Game Pass Ultimate is still very much worth it for me. The amount of value that it offers is insane especially since it has EA Play included also.
It's only those who pay it per month who are getting ripped off, just buy 12 months of Core, pay the one of free which then converts into 9 months of Ultimate, then just sign up to MS Rewards to top off, they do a sale on 3 month Game Pass memberships on Black Friday, and during Christmas, you end up paying a 1/3 of the annual cost.
How is there any value? You're constantly paying to play these games. As soon as you stop paying, the games become locked and you can't play them until you pay again. Doesn't seem quite intelligent to me. You'll never be able to play every game on there. So in actuality you are overpaying for the games you do play. Better just to buy games outright.
@@Cloud_Strife0811 you do realize people who have game pass can still buy games right? Lol I have game pass and I still buy games
If it wasn’t for game pass I would have missed out on so many hidden gems because realistically I can’t buy every single game that I have a slight interest for
@@Cloud_Strife0811 you act like you replay every game you own. News flash kid, many people don't. They play it once, and then their out. Unless I care about the game or can mod it like crazy I'll buy it, otherwise GamePass is the best deal.
