- Acura revealed the quickest, best-handling and most well-appointed sedan in the brand's 35-year history - the new 2021 Acura TLX.
With a model-exclusive body structure and chassis architecture, all turbo engine lineup, and an athletic stance with bold proportions, the new TLX delivers dramatic gains in both style and dynamic performance. The first Acura sedan fully designed around the brand's Precision Crafted Performance ethos, the 2021 TLX will arrive at dealerships early this fall with a manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) starting in the mid-$30,000 range.
The second-generation TLX also marks the highly anticipated return of Acura's Type S high performance variant after a decade-long hiatus. The TLX Type S, arriving next spring, will be powered by an all-new Acura exclusive 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine developed for Type S levels of performance. I was telling one of my friends that the last best Acura was the 07-08 TL Type-S. After that, I had lost hope for Acura....until now.
I've been and Acura CL Type S owner for almost 20yrs and it's still going strong. That generation was the last Type S in a long time. Acura is making it's comeback!

Wish that were so, but wont happen. Sedans are struggling to sell as it is, very few people are willing to compromise practicality for looks these days...even on tiny cars that would be better served with 2 large doors instead of 4 that are too small for everyone.
A CLX aspec coupe would be nice

I bought a brand new TSX back when I got my first job after college. That feeling of achievement I can still remember. Keep going buddy! I then since moved to BMW tho haha

Acura is taking over! Both the upcoming 2022 TLX and MDX Type-S models are game changers. This will most likely be my next purchase once my 2018 A-spec is paid off.
i'm excited for this. I think this may have to be the best in class. AND its more reliable than its german counterparts.

272 hp and 280 Torque is not enough.
Imagine the new TLX with 350 hp V6 twin Turbo and 360 torque as base model and even more power for the A Spec. A big ass 15" touch screen and visual cockpit with customizable dash display. Android auto and car play is a must. Semi auto drive with all the safety road features. Voice interactive command system. All wheel drive and a kick ass interior like the new Hyundai or the new Mercedes.
That makes sense???
I had an 2001 Acura TL then a 2005 TL. I was driving an Acura throughout the 2000s until I jump ship to BMW and Mercedes when they up their game big time in the early 2010s.
Very happy for Acura, cuz the las 5 years models were disappointing.
Definitely a yawn fest.

W206 looks like 2 generations ahead of Acura. Its performance models, against which type S is competing, are so technologically advanced with their turbo-hybrid power unit and F1 type battery that I honestly do not know who in their right mind ready to pony up over $60K would choose an Acura TLX over a Mercedes.
I'm driving a Mustang GT 5.0 and I'm not going back to Acura any more coz I fell in love with the power of V8 engine.

I heard they did, the sales guy told me they not using 3rd party company to make transmissions for them, its strictly Acura/Honda making their own transmissions, so gonna be way more reliable. Thats what he said.
They just released the pricing and options/packaging on this car and
they flat out ruined it. The price is too high for too little, and they
completely destroyed the Type-S features list - no hud, no 360 camera,
no heated seats in rear, no rain sensing wipers, no remote start, no
fogs, etc etc etc. The only model to even get a HUD and 360 cam is the
advanced 4cyl model, and tech package is basically just a normal car
now. Someone need to step up and call Acura out on this. The forums and
Acura groups are lit up on fire with people really disappointed and the
fact the Type S now only has 355 HP isn't helping that 55grand price
tag. Acura messed up again

The design reminds me of Cadillac and Lexus. Its unique but gives me that kind vibe looking at the design, it's very Japanese with its sharp details but also very big body and American looking, similar to that of a CT-V.
Finally can make up for missing out on that used 1994 integra I couldn’t afford back in 1997

Since the Lexus IS350 officially out, I am now debating if I will get the IS350 or this TLX S Type? Both reliable engine and "re-sale" value is better compared to Infiniti's Q50 RS.

Any brand new car, I get bored by the 2nd year and already thinking about what car I might want next.
I'm a Honda fan but not a Acura fan. I'm happy that Honda found its mojo after losing it in the 90s. If the same people who created the GenX Civic are now focused on the TLX, it bodes well for that brand. I'm waiting for the curb-weight figures for new TLX before I get on the bandwagon. If pudgy or no lightweight base model, I'll just put money into my current 2017 2.0NA 6mt Civic to make it even more capable.

My only concern is if you live in NJ, NY, or any other state that has horrible roads the ride will be harsh & punishing. I had the 2012 tl & it was a solid car never gave me any problems, but it to had the double wishbone suspension & man what a tough ride when going over bumps & it had 18" wheels imagine 19". So if your roads are bad definitely test drive over bumps
I swear, so many exterior vehicle designers have taken the bulging rear arches concept from the Mk4 Supra and applied it in their vehicle designs today.
I just got a base tlx. Was gunna get accord but were in canada so thought the awd wld be better. Sucks its 4000 pnds tho. I noticed the honda is same motor but acura has more h.p and torque by a little. So im wondering is it tuned different? And shld i run premium gas is my question

I'm done with Acura. 2015 they removed the 6 speed manual transmission from the TL. All these cars are going to the paddle shift trash. I like driving my car and being involved with my car. I'm over these auto makers, everyone has removed the manual transmission. Ill be holding onto my 6 speed TL.
Only question I have: will it be offered as 6 speed manual?

To Acura: Pls *eliminate the keyless entry/keys that emit a signal for all your cars becuz it makes it easy for auto theft!!* Install chipped keys that Do Not emit signals that the car can read but the key has to be also in the ignition before it can start. Also, *eliminate the electronic parking brake (if it has one) because it's easier to maintain and more reliable pls* . *Love the Double Wishbone Suspension!!*
