  • The Joe Biden administration claims that U.S. aircraft left behind in Afghanistan are 'inoperable'. The Taliban say their engineers can fix all aircraft. But, how will they operate the Kabul airport & will they let Afghans leave? Palki Sharma gets you a report.

You must not have served, cause if you have you would know that all this equipment requires constant repairs and maintenance. Without a proper supply chain it will be useless within a year. They most likely destroyed the flight hardware which is not easy to replace. Also, getting an aircraft to fly vs. combat ready are two totally different things. Think of the supply chain needed for all the aircrafts weapons, and the software/hardware that needs to run with command control. On top of all that will it be ready when needed and reliable in actual combat. Glhf

They aren't going to risk billions of dollars of contracts to sell some military parts to the taliban or a reseller that might.
I've had my accounts closed by companies that got U.S. military contracts because I work internationally and things we buy get exported. For them it's not worth the risk of selling something to me that I might export that they weren't supposed to sell to me, and too complicated for them to check everything I order. So easier and safer to just kill my account and keep their govt. contract.
It's taken really seriously around the world. Maybe they could get some of the Chinese made Z-20 knock off parts, no idea if those are compatible though, maybe they could get the commercial line parts, but they aren't getting anything military or weapons related. They could probably buy a decommissioned one even then they are stripped out of anything that would be regulated and sold as is for a few million dollars.
