- After nearly 20 years, the United States military vacated biggest airfield in Afghanistan, the Bagram airbase on July 2. US troops reportedly slipped away in the night without even informing the Afghan soldiers patrolling the area. However, the new Afghan military commander claims he discovered the departure of US troops hours after their exit.
Afghan military claims looters ransacked barrack and rummaged through giant storage tents before they could take over. According to reports, the airbase was completely handed over to the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces. But Afghan soldiers criticised US troops over how they left Bagram.
