    Ah progress..... the last 380cc bike I installed a performance exhaust system onto was my younger brother's Suzuki GT380M back in 1987.
    The system was a set of 3 x Serval expansion chambers and OEM modified headers. Took and hour. Increased the top speed from an indicated 105 MPH to an indicated 118 MPH. Ironically the MPG increased from 45 MPG to just over 60 MPG cruising at 55 MPH. The GT380M still tied itself in knots when confronted by anything resembling a series of twisty corners though.
    It sounded wicked though. Music to a mechanic's ears when it passed by.
    Also at 38 HP stock the GT380 isn't A2 licence compatible.

The ECU tune I have for my CBR500R raised the redline by about 1,250 RPM. Lastly, you may want to put a high flow air filter on the bike to round out your mods.

      You can fit the end can. But the manifold system is a no as the 125 is a Single cylinder and the 380 is an Inline 2

      @@spicy110 I've got a full exhaust system on it but had to cut the pipe a bit shorter as it was made for venom but just need to make a proper bracket for it and I am getting it serviced next week currently on 2,305 miles and going to ask if they can take the revv limiter off and do a remap or tune the engine and sort out the idle. I am also going to see if they can put on a fatter tyre on the rear wheel.

      ok honestly from a biker of 14 years + I have a couple of things to say. Whoever you ask to do those things is going to say no if they are any good. You defiantly do not want to remove the limiter (they will refuse I am sure anyway, if they even could) Remapping and tuning are the same thing basically, there is very little to gain in a engine like that all you will do is kill it faster, again IF they even can. If you think putting a wider tyre on it will help handling, it won't it will make it turn slower. You may also not have room for anything bigger in there and/or the rim maybe too narrow to take a larger tyre. Honestly if you want a faster bike, get a faster bike. All you will do to yours is kill it faster for very very little gain. At the end of the day it is a free world, your bike do as you please. I just felt I had to point those things out.

      @@spicy110 thank you. Okay so having a tyre a bit wider won't help it's handling in the snow and will also make it slower. And taking the rev limiter off will basically make it like a ktm duke and the engine will wear incredibly quick.
      Thank you.

    I've never understood the need for some bikers to make their bikes are obnoxiously loud as possible. I love bikes and ride daily but I still just think "wanker" when I hear someone reving the arse out of their (usually shitty bike/more often than not a 125) bikes with straight through pipes.

  • @Alex_Mitchell
    @Alex_Mitchell Před 4 lety

    Well, the neighbours will love it. Is your ego really so small that you need a "look-at-me" exhaust?

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  Před 4 lety +1

      Ok obviously this passed you by, this is not my bike. This is a review bike and this is a video to show how to fit a performances enhancing exhaust to this model for owners of the bike.
      Also yes I personally prefer an exhaust that people can hear, helps them not kill me, It has nothing to do with ego.
      how are you on a motorcycle channel, on a video about fitting a performance exhaust and yet don't know that?

    • @Alex_Mitchell

      @@spicy110 This daft post came up in my feed probably because I view a great many bike videos. After nearly 50 years of riding, bikes remain my great passion. I have probably worn out more motorcycles than you have ridden.
      The notion that we need exhaust that people can "hear" ignores much of the physics of sound, (e.g.: exhausts are rearward facing and most of the drivers you might want to alert to your presence are ahead of you), and also ignores all the research that disproves the "loud pipes save lives" theory. Rider skill keeps you alive, not noise. (That includes the idiotic practice of over-revving your engine rather than using your horn).
      And then, of course, there is the nuisance factor of loud exhausts. There are reasons that governments mandate quiet vehicle exhaust and noise is one of the things that contributes to people's dislike of motorcycles.
      But you go ahead and continue to immaturely rationalize your choice. Something tells me that reasonable discussion and logical thought are not your long suit.
