"He's like a roach" Bruh, for real tho. He's an assassin-mage hybrid, he hides in bushes and fog of war, jumping over walls and around corners without warning and shredding entire teams in the blink of an eye. His voice sounds like he's being choked and trying to breathe in while speaking, for the demon that is Fiddlesticks can only imitate what it hears from its victims. In the game he will quote the fears and words of enemies he kills back to them as they die. Taunting them for their failures, exposing their deepest secrets. He's a masterpiece of design.

Fiddlesticks is a primal and one of the most powerful demons of runeterra, he is fear incarnate, his voice is done by Kellen Goth, and is a demonic inhuman mimic of human speech, this song is sung by a parent telling her kid about the story of "Fiddlesticks" almost like a campfire song, except this one ends badly

As much as i love fiddle's voice, when they were remaking him they said something along the lines of "we wanted him to copy people's voices" and i thought that there would be like 5 different voice actors for him talking at the same time and i can't get over how cool that would have been. Exactly Fiddlesticks' method of killing someone
The theme is like a tale about fiddlesticks. Fiddle mimics the voices of its victims that's why there was a part where he screams with mashed up voices of everyone he killed.
the voices you hear singing is also fiddle singing using his victim's voices
it is not LIKE a tale about fiddlesticks. Fiddlesticks literally is a Demon that HAS this tale about him. Parents tell their children not to go into the fields at night because of him and even though noone actually believes the tale, as you can see he actually is real.
Knowing fiddlestick's lore, my head canon for this song is the child's voice is fiddlesticks learning to imitate the woman's words, then using the child's voice to lure the adult to it. The silent part is the adult realizing that they effed up and the final scream is fiddle going in for the kill after savoring the person's fear.

@@AvatarAang100 Very True. The scream sounds like both voices in perfect sync as if one is screaming while the other is mocking the screamer. So both could be true.
For me the scene is the mother and child are camping somewhere near a forest that unfortunately has fiddlesticks. The first verse is the mother sharing fiddlesticks tale infront of a campfire to her child. When the child starts singing, that's when the mother was lured into the forest by fiddlesticks in the middle of the night and the daughter is now searching for her. The daughter saw fiddlesticks in the act and is now hiding. I think you guys can see what happens next.
I interpreted it as a family finding fiddlesticks. Or...fiddlesticks finding them. The mother takes the children and tells them to get away from their fields the scarecrow is in. They hide, trying to sooth eachother with a lullaby, but the silence shows Fiddle's found them. And then the screaming.

And to think we almost didn't get that either. In his development there was the idea to use multiple different voices, and they almost trashed the idea bc they thought it might be too difficult to get right. But they pulled it off and made him super creepy for it
He calls back traumas* for example one of his voicelines against annie is «don’t let go» which calls back to when annie lost her sister when they were playing near a river
More of he “mimics” what he hears, not literally stealing their voices. He mimics horses & pigs as well and u can hear it when he ults
That means you are dead. Because Fiddle mocks and mimics his victims' last words.

Beyond the lore, on a trope level, Fiddlesticks is kind of a Slasher villain. Some urban legend that is actually real, and once you're in his sight he's just unstoppable. Fiddle first appears as a harmless scarecrow but he's going to tear you apart, and there's nowhere you can hide from him. The final part of the song captures that really well, with the slow realization that you're gonna die, the calm before the storm and finally the brutal attack and abrupt death that follows.
If fiddlesticks exist in real life one of his lines will be : " iT's jUSt A pRanK bRo"
I can imagine that, but instead of saying it normally I imagined it being screamed like "it's juST A PRANK BROo-" and fiddle learnt that phrase when he killed some random dude he lured from a skate park

lorewise fiddlesticks is either pre-runeterra or pre-aurelion. Based of the born in the first scream of creation lorebit. The reason he is so unsettling is because he is primal fear, so all types, including that of what the other demons rule over, agony, greed, nightmares, so on so forth.

I like to think of the ending screams of the first few being the mother and daughter and the last one being Fiddle mimicking their screams as they die
I remember watching his trailer for the 1st time in my apartment,it was past 2am, i was alone in the entire place, then fiddlesticks comes at me(the character in FPP) and right after, just a milisecond right after fiddlesticks come at the camera power goes out and a fucking cat screeched not screamed SCREACHED at the inside of my apartment, i do not own a cat nor does anyone else in the apartment does, immediately i screamed and threw the 1st thing i could grab at the direction of where the noise came, some seconds after power comes back on and i checked what happened, i saw a window open and a dead mouse with a fried main power switch, fucking cat wanted to catch the mouse and both got electrecuted lmao

It practiced to get it perfect in singing, even in the trailer copying "Tedrick" though it's not exactly the same.
That ending of the song is so great. Its for sure supposed to emphasize the jump scare nature of his ult in game for sure, riots champ thmes lately have been insanely on point.

I would love for them to have a short horror movie starring Lux when she's trying to hunt him down and destroy him. Just imagine her hiding in a house, while she hears the scrape of metal on cobblestones as Fiddlesticks croaks out his nursery rhyme.
Hey guys I dont think yall realized this, but at 8:16 when we hear those single shreaking notes before all the screaming. Some people fail to realize that its actuall the noise fiddle sticks body makes when you hear him sneaking up on you, since he has metal joints that are super old and busted so when he moves his joints sound like what we heard in 8:16 and that the enitre song could possibly just be someone running from fiddle sticks as when the tension rises and the musc stops you hide behind something only hearing those creaking joints as fiddlesticks moves around to find you, until suddenly he appears on top of you and then the screams start.
I loooove when Joey's analysis of the song and his descriptions of parts and how he feels on those parts accurately reflects the champion's actual lore.

They are the 2 halves of death incarnate, Lamb is the peaceful side, killing softly her targets with a single arrow once thtey accept their death, and Wolf is the brutal part who chases and devours the ones running away because they refuse to die. Definitely in the top 3 of League's themes !!
I know its not this channel's thing, but definitely listen to some of Fiddlestick's voice lines, and then know that they are all done by someone, with no effects, that is what the guy actually sounded like in the booth.

8:17 the little sounds we can hear on the part, that Joey later calls the "calm before the storm", sound to me like a lamp swinging, which reminds me of the champion teaser (from 0: 52) when Fiddlesticks is standing still with just a lamp swinging in his arm, just before he attacks the man.

If you have the time I highly recommend reading on the champions lores. However Ill tell you about Fiddlesticks because IMO hes one of the most interesting and mysterious.
So in Runeterra(the planet all the champions live on), there are demons, most demons pry and feed off of certain emotions and actions from humans in the world. In addition to that they try to make themselves appear as they want to. Some appear as Catfishes with large mouths, another into a beautiful women, however Fiddlesticks is a scarecrow because Fiddlesticks feeds off of your fear.
When the universe was created, Fiddlesticks was said to be born in the first scream of creation, not the terrifying scarecrow you see in this but rather the demon in its true form. He is said to be the oldest, and most powerful demon out there, and is basically a cautionary tail in Runeterra(though many believe him to be a story). The demon eventually inhabited a scarecrow(the red center of the scarecrow is the ACTUAL demon), and began to kill anything it came across and feed on its fear. In addition to that, Fiddlesticks would mimic the voices of others to sometimes lure them in, its rumored he's trying to copy normal human behavior and voice patterns, but he isn't quite getting the hang of it. Its all a big mystery.
Also every region in runeterra see's Fiddle differently, in the icy tundra of the Frelijord he's seen as a monster with icy legs and blue eyes, in Piltover, a large modern city, he's seen as a monster of deformed parts and bolts. But every region has their interpretation of Fiddlesticks, suggesting there may be more than one.
One things for certain though. Fiddle is one of the most powerful, terrifying, and mysterious characters in all of the game and the story. And he is ancient.

Of all the music league has, this was legit the worst theme for Joey to react, Fiddlesticks theme isn't meant to be an actual good song, it's just meant to make you scared. Project Jhin would be an amazing theme to react to
yeah no thats bs. Music doesnt have to be melodical or beatiful. It hast has to convey emotions, and boy does this song convey emotions like few others. And other than that, here is a lot more to unpack for him than in some generic pop song thats just as samey as everything else

So glad you listened to Fiddlestick's theme. Next League characters' theme I recommend do listen to are Volibear, and Nunu&Willump themes. Their both champs from the icy regions and have really awesome themes. One is whimsical and instrumental, other is heavy on the vocals. Both are really powerful and majestic sounding.
