A little about Ed….
Ed is an elite cyclist, 2019 British Hill Climb Champion and former Under 23 British RR Champion. He has raced as a Continental level Professional Rider for one of the most successful British cycling teams in Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, Azerbaijan to name a few. He is also a public speaker, coach, and founded the on/offline cycling community, Backpedal. At the start of 2021, the Discord community began, and plonked many of Ed's viewers in to a 550+ strong group of people that had many things in common. Not least wanting to explore the world and pedal their bikes faster!

Hi Ed! Sorry to hear you were ill - I was ill in November, and still at about 70%. High HR, shit endurance power, poor VO2. Still feels like I am not absorbing training at all. I'm sure you'll be much better - but whatever went round this winter was pretty nasty. Take care
Do a few weeks of Zone 2 first without VO2 max work to start building mitochondrial biogenesis without taxing the body too much while still recovering. It's just January. You can slowly add in VO2 max in mid Feb once you're fully healthy again.

I hope you get to do those 4h sessions outside! What's the longest you would cycling on the indoor trainer if the weather outside was terrible for a few days and you could not switch your plan about.
I don't think i'd be able to do anything longer than 3hrs without live streaming it to talk to people or to take my mind off it. If I was doing intervals I could go longer, but endurance rides indoors I really struggle with.
I am currently on my 7th day of the flu... Only doing some easy rides on Zwift.

Are those double days where you have 2 sessions per day - or is one an indoor option? Also - when do you schedule in rest days? This looks like a full week! Jen
Double days can be done indoors or out, all optional. I schedule rest days maybe once a week, they don't tend to be complete days off though.
