Yeah it happens. I’ve seen a lot of people with these wheels since the vid went up! Even a few others on CZcams lol
I call mine the fainting goat 😂😂. After a week of owning, it does pretty well, but I've adjusted to the tippiness.

Yes they are! Just got a set of the powerhobby that are similar but a tiny bit heavier actually. They seem to work well also

flip the body mount in the rear and flip the bumper mount in the front and raise the body mount in the front

Yeah I just didn’t wanna raise the body mount because that’s raising the heaviest part of the truck even higher. The hard body on this thing is a lot of weight so I tried to keep it as low as possible.
The Hyrax are the perfect tire for the Bronco. Great vid Mat!!!!

Brass transmission/skid plate will do wonders for the bronco.
First mod to my gladiator and made a big improvement!
I honestly just prefer the plastic skids. I have a couple with brass and aluminum and the plastic gets stuck less imo. Just personal preference though. I’m sure the weight down low really helps a lot!
That bumper mod makes the Bronco look SO MUCH more scale. It is surprising what a little change can do! 👍

Love the new bronco, just got the red one wow what a beautiful color, I already did the bumper mod free, I just flip the brackets were they was going up instead of down raised The bump up perfect. Just have to raise the front body mount one hole. And I have the heavy trio wheels with the new pro line Hyrax big difference
Yeah I did that at first but didn’t like raising the body so I decided to come up with another way. Glad you’re enjoying the Bronco! I’m loving mine so far. Awesome new upgrade about to post up soon!
As always appreciate you sharing, one thing I discovered about the pro line tires mounted up to my Treal Rims, first time out the bead came off the rim I remounted it and discovered all four you could grab a hold of the tire and they will turn, The rims not Holding the tire bummer they are the five star Rims
Dang that sucks! I’ve got a couple sets mounted to the treals and haven’t had an issue. Hopefully they continue to hold. May have to put a dab of glue on them if not. Kinda defeats the purpose of beadlocks though huh?!

after my first trip to the rock I pile with mine I decided I'm not using outdoors untill I get so work done on her. I dont want to scratch it all up👍
The little bronco looks sweet Matt ! main concern for me is the amount of weight that needs to be added down low to make it competitive , especially considering the stock 030 motor and servo die pretty easily at stock lexan bodied weight . Still , gotta pay to play , sure this is really targeted more at the scale trail truck crowd with good potential to crawl half way decent as a bonus if you've got the patience and money to burn getting her right ! Excited to see what direction you go with this ! Finally got my first set of hyrax for my scx24 this morning , one battery pack of running and I'm already so stoked with the different challenges and lines that they open up compared to the mudslingers that I also really enjoyed!
Yeah it’s definitely not a performance truck. I plan to make mine capable but leave it more of a scale truck. All the weight is definitely going to require a new motor and servo that’s for sure lol. Can’t beat the hyrax man! Love them
I've changes out motors in all mine, I feel servo and motor is my first upgrades

Matt, I flipped the bumper mount. I adjusted the body mount, and it sits really nice.
Yeah I did that at first but had to raise the body mount which raised the body a tad so I decided to cut my own little mounts. I may end up needing to raise the body a hair anyway to keep from getting so much rubbing but really hated to raise it
@@2fmrc I noticed that too. I adjust the shocks to the body mount as well to lower the overall front stance. 👍🏾

The best scx24 imo. The worse scx24 at crawling out of the box. It needs better tires, but they all do. They all need lower weight added, this just needs more of it. Mine is a basic model. No trim package or accessories, no extra rails on the roof rack to hold the accessories, no spare wheel and tire, and it is better than the WildTrak package on the wild tracks. The real one doesn't have any of that crap on the roof rack anyway. I don't think the wildtrak package even includes a roof rack.
Can't wait to see those portals and what you think of them.....also I got my bronco today man thanks again for the link....as you know I always hit you up for stuff man I love the channel....I wait to see what you think befor I buy stuff...lol....as always keep up the great videos man

Well the truck doesnt hit the UK till the 10th but I've already ordered a ton of treal brass to add weight down low... Also considering removing the roof rack and spare wheel but interested to see what you do to your bronco ma dude

Thank you for the video. Good stuff. I am hopeful I can add enough weight down low without resorting to brass wheels. I suspect those portal axles are going to create as many problems as they solve (added weight, but lift the entire truck, including the heavy hard body).
Yeah that’s why I’m kinda on the fence with them lol. If they are anything like any of the other axles I’ve tried lately they’ll be a pile of junk in my tool box. My mofo portals started binding too bad to even use and my super 8s with the cvd slipped the pin out of the joint and bent so now I gotta wait on a replacement for those! I’m over these axles lol
@@2fmrc Oh no! I didn't know about the Mofo and LGRP axle issues. I have a set of the Super 8 CVD's but haven't installed them yet. What do you think is the issue with the Mofo portals? Fixable?
@@derrickwilliams2903 it really just happened yesterday. It seems like the brass has wore down a bit where there is no bearing and now the drivecup of the outer axle is sort of going in too deep and binding against the brass. I may be able to kinda countersink it a bit or do something but Idk? The super 8s I didn’t get half a battery out and that happened. Jordan said they had it happen to one set while testing but haven’t had any customers have that issue yet besides me. He’s going to replace it if I can’t get the pin straight and back in. He also said they are gonna have retainers soon for the pin!
@@2fmrc I told Nick he was crazy for not using bearings and he was incredibly dismissive. But I'm sure he will happily sell you new parts so you can have the joy of running into that problem again in a few months. Jordan is a good dude. He does things right and if something slips through the cracks, he will make it right. Nothing but positive experiences with LGRP.

I love this vehicle but I did bigger wheel/ tire combo and my back ones rub on reverse don't what to do
Yeah I’m getting some rubbing even with the smaller hyrax. Maybe you could lift the body a bit using the body mounts? Sucks lifting it but it’s that or trim that beautiful body lol
@@2fmrc Yeah my front is body mount is lifted. That helps the front. It was kinda a necessity to clear the winch. May axial extension will help rear when they come in?
Hi! I'm currently searching for new tires for my scx 24. Are the hyraxs good for dirt? I've seen reviews but nobody really takes about them on dirt.
They work for me
They are the best all around tire imo. If going from dirt to rock etc they will do the best. At least they do for me.

Hey mat I got mofo portals on my rig I have the castle 0808 and the lizard pro and I on run it on 2s but it hauls the mail mite try that combo out it crawls slow and still got plenty of wheel speed
Mine have so much binding in the front that I just removed them yesterday actually. I think they need bearings in them. I can barely turn my axle by hand on them now. I think the brass has wore down and my drivecup is going too deep into the brass and rubbing. Couldn’t figure out why I killed 2 motors. Finally figured it out. Then I installed the super 8s again with the cvd and ran it less than 5 mins and the pin popped out of the cvd and bent. Now they are useless until LGRP replaces it. I’m over axles lately 😆

I've been thinking of picking one of these up but after having another stroke my left hand barely works which makes it extremely difficult to work in my trucks (or type, and many other things.) And my left leg is real weak now too which makes it difficult to get out to my crawl spots.
Man I hate to hear that. Have you looked into maybe one of the flysky noble controllers with a one hand adapter or something? Could help idk? My noble lets you swivel the wheel around for a left hand person to drive on the other side. Then you could attach a thumb wheel and just use your right hand. May not be an option but thought I’d mention it.

Thanks guys. I almost just packed up all my drones and RC trucks to give to a buddy. But decided "not yet" since being able to RC is a big incentive for me to recover. What makes it tough is, I'm left handed, so having to learn to do stuff one handed with my non-dominant hand. Though I am thinking of "thinning the herd" and give him a few 1/10th and 1/12th scale rigs since at this point I really can't maintain them all the way they deserve to be. We all fall apart eventually. I'm near 70 now and have had a good run. No regrets :>

Hey Matt new subscriber here and pretty new to the hobby.
I happened to buy your exact bronco yesterday and I’m having a bit of buyers remorse today. Just with the fact that, like you pointed out, out of the box it’s not capable of really anything.
I would like a super competent crawler but will not go the deadbolt route due to appearance. I’m torn between the JL and gladiator, or just keeping the Bronco and making mods. I would like to do as few mods as possible for the most competent crawler. What advice would you give? (If I get a different SCX I can resell the bronco on FB and get my money back so no worries there). Thanks for your time!

Hey! Thanks so much for the sub! Really appreciate it. I would definitely go the Gladiator route if you like it. With its length the thing is very capable with just a set of wheels and tires honestly. Then adding a little weight up front and overdrive will make it shine. Of course the servo & motor are kinda weak in all of them so I always swap those eventually but with just a few mods that glad is pretty solid and looks really good also! Hope this helps and don’t hesitate to holler anytime!

Also, which SCX do you see as having the most potential? As in, with all having equal upgrades in basically all parts, which rig has the best geometry in your opinion?
@@TheMrjt09 I honestly think the gladiator may be the best. I always stretch my rigs out most of the time so it being long is already a step in the direction I like to go. The layout of electronics isn’t great imo. I don’t care for the battery in the back but I like the sideways mount it has. I haven’t even moved the electronics or anything in mine and it does really well. My Jlu was a performer also with some work but atm I think I’d prefer the gladiator.
Did you have problems getting your treal hex extenders to fit in the NHX rims? Bought both but the hexes won’t fit in my rims, they will in the stock rims tho
Just got one, already upgraded rims and tires! Do you think when not using these when they are charged its necessary to unplug battery from the truck? Or is it fine to just leave battery cable connected to it? Thanks
Congrats! I always unplug them. Sometimes the esc will drain power even while in the off position and kill a battery.

Not. At all i got mine and added a 10 mm socket for meen time weight and man filiped the shocks and that thing crawls so good and stoped fliping over for good.i got the red one and the paint looks super good in the sun..oh and tiok the velcro off and put dollar tree magnets
How well do those rcawd portals clear aftermarket wheels? I’ve been looking at them but idk if they’ll clear the wheels I’d use with them? The wheels I’ve been looking at are those nhx all brass wheels, rc4wd black rhino wheels, or injora beadlock d-hole wheels.
