Exactly. Arsenal was his first start of 2024. People complaining about him giving the ball away cheaply every now and then just lack common sense. No pre season, barely any game time, maximum 4 run of games, playing half his games out of position, etc. I guarantee that Amrabat will go to another top club and become an important player for them if we don't sign him. It's embarrassing that the liability Casemiro has been playing over him all season.

Much like ETH, there are also tangential reasons to keep him:
A new signing will need a preseason,
A new signing may need a season to bed in,
He will only have 1 season to prove himself (a new signing would get longer),
He could be sold easily and probably at a profit if he proves ineffective over the season (£20 million fee).

The problem at united right now is new signings who are not big names do not get much time to settle. We are so bad that one defeat and the manager has to change things. Amrabat needed more game time but he has not been used much. Casemiro a big name player is so as a snail. We should have kept sabitzer as well. He also didn't get many chances to play.

I would sign him as a backup 6 for depth. If all we need to make him a permanent signing is £15 million or so, that's a bit of a bargain. ETH picking Casamiro over Amrabat and Anthony over Amad are 2 of ETH's biggest mistakes this season IMO.

  • @tonyxyz559
    @tonyxyz559 Před 21 dnem +9

He does the most important thing we need that Casemiro does poorly, stays back and help the defence.
I feel he struggled to settle into our squad and our poor form all season hasn’t help him ease into our team. He has been brilliant in the last 2 games. We know he can be a very good player based on what he did at Morocco and Fiorentina.
Expect Casemiro and Eriksen to go meaning we will be short in 6 position. Mount and McTominay are better in 8/9 position and only player that could possibly play there is Mainoo.

After we sell Casemiro and Eriksen, we will not have a single DM in our squad (I see Kobbie as more of a box to box, although he can play the DM role also).
Amrabat can be a decent squad player, especially given that his asking price would be quite low.
Along with Amrabat, we will need to sign another top quality CDM, and perhaps promote someone else also from the academy/get someone on loan (considering that we also need to strengthen CB, ST, RW and LB).

United have no CDM that can retain possession except for Amrabat. His awareness of the opponents, turning with the ball at his feet, not frequently passing back to Onana, able to find pocket pass and aware of his teammates position to make necessary adjustments are good enough to keep him. People keep forgetting that Amrabat played out of position most of the season. For 15M, United can't get any better player than him especially as a backup DM and the fact that Casemiro is leaving this summer. United need to keep him. Any possession-based team would love to have Amrabat. He may not be as good a Gondugan but he is the same attributes as him.

As I said after your previous video on midfield targets, buying Amrabat is a NO-BRAINER as he gives us everything we need from a defensive midfield cover/shield. I find it mindblowing that ETH hasn't played him more and when he has played him he has played him out of position.
We should also buy Onana from Everton as this will give us 3 players (Mainoo, Armabat & Onana) who can play either as a single or double pivot which will ensure that we don't overplay Mainoo (who looks to be in danger of premature burnout).

if they re not planing to give him time , he d better run for his life . he ll achieve nothing in this circus of a club . man u is a shadow of what it used to be in the 90s , amrabat been used in every position except the one he plays , then get benched for half the season , he should go back to itally as Man u will literally ruin his career .

I agree for the most part, but I wouldn't be surprised if he plays in the fa cup final.
If he does well in that test then I think is a good option to take for that price.

He's just ok. A real liability the farther up the pitch he gets. He's undone by fast, powerful direct runners and he cannot shoot the ball. I'd sign him for 10M pounds, two year contract with team options for third year...incentivize him to outperform while the team brings along a youth player over time. Keep in mind he'll also disappear for a month every season during Ramadan like he did this year.

I think we haven’t appreciated these types of players when we have had them. Just simple footballers. Take Sabitzer last year. He just wanted a ball. Then gave the simple pass. Nothing mental. The biggest example I think was van de beek. I loved watching him and sancho for about 2 games together. Donny just loved a simple 1,2. We seem to rather these chaos players like mount

Believe me no one on the pitch among Manchester United palyers has the heart of a true warior like Amrabat he's devoted to the Manchester anthem and people that love that team we can say that Amrabat could fight like Roy kean the ex devoted fighter

I cannot believe that we're having a serious discussion about Amrabat. 😑
It's taken him until May to have a single good performance, and even then it's only been like 3 games.
You can say he's not played, but when the manager who signed you doesn't fancy you, despite the midfield massively struggling, that is a terrible sign.
If we do sign him, I am CERTAIN that at the end of next season, we'd be discussing him as a player we should offload. 😕

I don't really agree. Granted, he isn't the worst player in our side and yes, he didn't get enough chances to show himself but he also didn't take the chances he got. If we want to be pragmatic, that means saying goodbye to him. The video listed the last two matches as his better games: one game was a very deserved loss against Arsenal, the other was a rather lucky win when the opponent created numerous good chances to score 4 or 5 against us. A match he kind of deserved to concede a penalty too. The guy isn't a spring chicken. It would take another more than 15million to buy him and for what? He isn't good enough to be starter and all this talk about signing him as a squad player - I'm shocked - are people actually watching our matches? Have they seen our seasons? We have a shit team. And a rather shitty first team. This needs to improve - when that is done, we may talk about squad players but thats not where we are. This shortsighted thinking has led to us sitting on fecking Lindelof or McTominay for almost 8 years. Fecking Martial could demand a testimonial... People act as if we would be winning left right and center, applying logic as that would apply if we'd compete in many comps, but we aren't competing for anything at all.
Take the 15 million for Amrabat and invest it wisely. Next season shouldn't be seen as an opportunity to win silverware but to improve the team.
edit: the counter he "stopped" was more butchered by Newcastle than forced by him. one easy pass from Isaak and we have two players free in front of our goal.
edit2: You don't buy players for them to be a backup. Especially if don't even know how your first team is going to look like. Backups should resemble the skillsets of the starters to slip into the team without too much of a fuss.

This season our main reason for suffering has been the tactics and in my opinion they are responsible for why the injuries where too many. The system tried to free up the 8s to attack but left the CB and DM with too much to do hence the injuries there. That's why the last 2 games have looked good, ETH simply abandoned his nonsense! In my opinion he doesn't deserve another year. We will just see more of the same being clueless and favourites i will pass i dont want to see the same 11 the whole season, poor manager!

Get some ball knowledge please,,,,this happend due to injuries and if you had a problem with ten hag's tactics you should have adressed this issue last season when we were prettty decent

@@l3wy375 last season we weren't playing his ball by his admission, we played the formation suited to the players after the first 2 losses. In football you can protect players from being too exposed by changing tactics, now if you can't see that because you have ten hag deep in your throat its not my problem!

    • @geoffreywkchin

The OP is absolutely correct. Ping pong or basketball football is extremely demanding on the players physically - leads to having little control, making more mistakes and lots of INJURIES. Beside choosing this approach, the other thing that Ten Hag is culpable of is having favourites in the team. Always playing his favourites and not giving a run to others, and then those others cant get match fitness and consistency, and get discarded. Ten Hag is too stubborn. Too many examples - Playing Antony not Amad. Playing Rashford for too many games and not dropping him when he isn't trying. Scape goating Maguire and wanting to get rid of him, and instead Harry saved his ass. Playing mcT as a starter for too many games.. Even Amrabat playing now is due to his hand being forced by having no more CBs so Case plays CB and it's almost like last resort that Amrabat is given a chance to play...
Ten Hag simply has to go. Sooner the better

He’s played in a team that’s been exposed tactically in midfield with rubbish players in a new league. He will be great next season if signed.
