Back then the wheel was bigger and had a lot more segments on it. Despite the wheel now being smaller with less segments on it, there was a nine year gap between between the two most recent €500,000 winners.

Each series is September to May.
For September 2000 to May 2001 (Mike Murphy's last series) and from September 2001 to December 2001 the new
IR£500,000 segment was on the wheel which is €634,869
When Ireland switched to the Euro in January 2002 the IR£500,000 segment became €500,000 which is IR£393,782

It's always a good game but there was better wins and prizes back in the day :) 20 years old can't believe that

40 minutes... 17 minutes of talk show and 23 minutes of game show. If we wanted a talk show we'd put on the Late Late Show.

How come the prizes are not in euros if this is 2000?

    • @johnking5174

The €uro currency didn't become official currency in the Republic of Ireland until New Year's Day January 1st 2002.

That was Treasure Ireland 2001-2008 when they chose landmarks instead of counties.
