"Cats Protection has a lot of mature cats in need of a home and they don’t need to be high maintenance," says Flossie's owner Vicki. "All they want is a cuddle and somewhere warm to sleep. I’m glad that Cats Protection matched me with Flossie; adopting her has been rewarding for us both." 😻

I had a cat who lived to age 20. She had really “outlived” her body - she was blind, deaf, had a tumor in one eye, and was arthritic. I finally had her put down to relieve her of her afflictions, but I cried like a baby when that awful day came.

My cat lived to the age of 19 but sadly we then had to put her to sleep. I was inconsolable for two whole years until a darling tuxedo cat literally appeared at my feet !
Fun fact: the oldest ever recorded cat is Creme Puff, who was born on 3 August, 1967 and passed away on 6 August, 2005. A cat being able to reach the age of 38 is just insane!
The lesson there is be to be careful when choosing the name of a cat. You don't want to go breaking any records with a name like Cream Puff. (Thanks for sharing that, btw. Hard to imagine a cat going 38 years).

my cat is also 13 :)
My oldest is 20, has diabetes and thyroid issues. Has had to have shots twice a day for 6 1/2 years now. She’s my baby and gets everything she wants. My 2 rescue cats and my 3 year old get everything they want too, but my oldest gets everything first. She’s the reason I’m still alive today, I couldn’t allow for someone else to care for her. So I chose to stay alive and care for her, 11 years later I’m still catering to her needs. She would die without me and couldn’t imagine her suffering from me not being there for her. She made me put down the shotgun with her constant meowing and pawing at my face. She was telling me not to go. I understood at that moment we both needed each other to live. Calico isn't a breed, just a coat pattern, but this cat is a tortoise shell. 29 is certainly impressive! Most of the cats I had growing up lived around 20 years (we had about 6 different cats, overlapping each other).

I had a cat that died when he was 9 years old. After that, it took some time before we got used to the fact that we only had two cats left. Now afterwards, I'm happy that I was able to say goodbye to him (my cat) in peace. Now he no longer has to suffer and he was happy all his life 💙 (my cat died because he had too high kidney values that even the meters weren't enough for it.)
Same. My cat was about 9y/o when he suddenly got a really bad kidney infection, we did our best to save him but after one month of fighting and an almost successful recovery (things went downhill after that) I had to tell him my last goodbyes. One night I just sat on the floor gently petting him for a whole hour, knowing that probably that was his last day, he in fact did not wake up the next morning.
I’m just glad I managed to be the last person he saw before crossing the bridge ❤

I'm so honored to see and hear this clip. I didn't think many people like you lived in society anymore. So kind and loving. I too take in the needy and broken cats. Everyone love puppies and kittens but it takes an old soul to claim the seniors and sick ones. You inspire me so much to keep going as I seem to never find an animal I didn't think was beautiful. And now I find a cats owner that matches the beauty I see in Flossie.
I have a 19 year old cat who I thought would give it up years ago, but she's still energetic and playful, jumps around and play/bites/grabs me and licks my skin/hair and purrrs and rolls around to play "cute" and get attention (which she receives). Wow, she still looks really healthy for 26 years old! We had a 'family cat' that lived to be around 23-24 years old, we got her when my cousin was around 2 years old and she passed four years ago when my cousin was about 25 or 26.
Hi lordpickle have you become a flat earther yet? If not I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. I got it in my about tab.
why not just say your own age? ''we got her when I was 4 years old, and i'm now 27'' or whatever, feels odd to use your cousin as a 'age measurement' lol
@@MMODink3 yeah that was quite odd 😂

Not really
Flossie is the cutest oldest cat there will ever be. No questions asked.

Wonderful. Thank you, kind Victoria and lovely Flossie.
My grandmas cat was 22 when she passed away. My grandma was 104 when she passed away
whoever directed this video deserves aknowledgement. Amazing storytelling in just a short time! It's not just a video about a record, it's an engraved memory about this cat for eternity.
Yes it is.isnt it!
cats and dogs can live longer. pet food ingredients have little to no regulations. spending a little more on a high quality pet food, like Purina One, and blood testing at the vet for senior animals, our pets would be living much longer. Supermarket, cheaper pet food, is dangerous to their health, over the long term. also, cut back on dry pet food! 🐱 🐾 🐶
Wonderful that she has you to take care of her.
our cat was 23 when she passed, i grew up with her. miss her a lot
Aw no Kitty 😢 Sorry to hear that
serious question. why do people adopt cats and take care of them and start loving them when they know damn well tha they're gonna watch it die and leave them depressed?
@Azy's Gaming because when life throws lemon at you, you gotta make lemon juice 🍋
@@azysgaming8410 During the time they're still alive, it makes life so much better. I'm sure if you ask any pet owner if they would've rather had no pet at all, they wouldn't change their decision. Even though it's heartbreaking when they die, the memories that you have with them are truly amazing.
@@azysgaming8410 thats just like asking why play a game when you know it's going to end 😂 because it's fun while it lasts! eventually you get over their death and just be happy about the memories you shared with them.
Congratulations...! Flossie ...! Wishing for Happy Healthy Life .
Very nice cat. I wish Flossie many happy, healthy years to come
