Midnight Guest follows the story of fromis_9 making an escape from home past midnight, promising an exciting visit to those undergoing a colorless night of boredom. fromis_9 is a group full of visuals and is always showing that they're talented. for real, what y'all are waiting to stan fromis_9.
This is gorgeous. Things to note.
First, the aspect ratio. Most of it is cropped to more of a 5:4, which is non-traditional, and it’s more focused than a wide.
Second, a lot of it has a more saturated pseudo-film feel. Combined with the city feel, I think they’re referencing older films specifically City and urban coming of age films, and then when they widen the screen, they’re creating the central spectacle.
It’s a gorgeous music video, very informed by cinematic themes especially from East New Wave Cinema!

I have nothing more to say than DM being an ABSOLUTE BANGER. It's only the beginning of 2022 yet I know this is going to be one of my favourite songs of the year. The song and the video itself definitely portray what the description says it does. It makes me long for a growing love I don't have and run around the city together, escaping the boredom that everyday life can sometimes give you. Absolutely love it, as well as the entirety of the midnight guest album, the overall theme is so cohesive. Thank you girls for the amazing music once again, and hoping for a successful and safe promotional period! And all the best flovers, you got this!

곡 진짜 잘 뽑혔다. 근래에 들었던 모든 장르의 곡들
중 거의 탑. 우선 멜로디가 설레고 들뜨는 동시에 울컥하게 만들어주는 세련된 인디팝적인 감성인데다
어느 시간대, 어느 장소에서든 부담없이 편하게 들을 수 있는 깔끔하고 세련된 그야말로 팝적인 편곡과 구성, 그리고 이번 곡으로 처음 그 매력과 진가를 알게된 보컬들. doesn’t matter와 후반부 돌고래 애드립 파트는 정말 이게 극락이다 싶다.

I can read and speak their name correctly, so I really don't care much how their Latin name. and I can tell you most of Kpop idols' Latin names are presented in the way English speakers (?) can read more similarly to their correct name, and sometimes it was just that their name look more beautiful in writing (???). They dont really know how their name would be read in that way. For example, 하영, 나경 and 채영 have the name vowel in their name but Nakyung chose "yu" while Hayoung and Chaeyoung chose "you" but all of them supposed to be "yeo".
