@@InkSheep27I've only watched Pchal daily's videos so I haven't seen the entire game but I would say that the only poorly desinged parts are the first 2 gyms and mt pyre perma tailwind because they feel way too unfair, the rest are extremely hard but doable without much risk
Of course it depends on the rules the decided on before the run, but most runners handle documented bugs, and it sounded like it was one of the documented ones, as normal ai behavior. Reasoning being that he shouldve known about this bug.

Try making a triple battle team focused on Heal Pulse with bulky pokemon, it'll be absolute hell especially if you add a mon with follow me just to keep the healer from getting OHKO'd

Yup, finished EK and then a fair bit of EKK and when I tried Run and Bun out of interest my reaction was very quickly “nah, I’m out”.
