Coronavirus Outbreak: Is China Strong-Arming the World and Dodging Culpability?

  • The Chinese State is being criticized for its lack of transparency and information suppression in the early stages of the Coronavirus outbreak. However, little has been done to hold them accountable. Is the proposed virtual G20 summit a positive step in this direction? Can a strategic pushback be expected from the western and south-east Asian countries, or will China emerge as a new world leader? Will China's proclivity for control over public safety be sustainable or negatively impact its foreign policies such as the Belt and Road Initiative? This panel discusses the possibilities of holding the Chinese government accountable and its manifestations in multilateral relations, the world economy as well as the Chinese economy.

Looking at the comments, it seems that China has deployed army of trolls all over the internet to counter any criticism which makes this discussion is even more relevant.
The world must take note and act accordingly.

@@mpred8606 They should fight for themselves. Remember that freedom and democracy doesn't come cheap. Every democracy now has lost lakhs of people in the process of being a democracy (At least the big ones). So it is in Chinese interest they should protest against CCP.

Dude I commented on one of the Cut the Clutter videos about how world should make China face consequences. It became like a 35-40 comments thread. It just vanished the next day. The Chinese are aware of what we are talking about them.

When the dust settles, and if and if anyone who's anyone left standing, china should be held accountable for damaging the world's economy irreparably especially 3rd world countries, who will take probably a decade to repair themselves from this scio economic & murderously horrendous damage.

Gordon Fernandes ...that’s what it seems. China wants to increase its hold on developing countries and for its ambitious Silk Road project.
By transporting workers from wuhan to Italy it has spread the virus in entire Europe and crippling the world but to the surprise except few cities the virus has not spread throughout China! This shows the fabrication done by China!

100% This is a sinister plot by china to gain supreme control over the entire world by dethroning the US which is the current World's superpower, and take supreme dominance over all of the economic world's wealth. This virus is a Lab engineered Bio Weapon, in their Lab at Wuhan, they might already have the antidote as well, hence the spread of the virus as of now over there, is contained.

As long as the Orange buffoon is the president of USA, it's not going to happen. He still considers this a hoax, and has blamed Europe for the virus spreading in US.

@@jessg101 That same 'Orange buffoon' is calling it the 'Chinese Virus', Chinese propaganda have gone too far that now the same media once called it 'Wuhan virus' is calling everyone resist. Chinese have bought the WHO and the media. That same 'Orange buffoon' is standing up against China since the beginning . And now media is taking China's side. Media is the problem here not 'Orange buffoon'.

The most interesting part of the effect of this pandemic on BRI projects is to see as to who bears the substantial cost of this specific delay, China or the host country.

If you consider suggestions in the comments, then kindly come closer to the mic while speaking (ik there's SARS - CoV 2 threat, but I am sure everything there would have been sanitised before). Sometimes when even 1 word is unaudible the whole line becomes difficult to understand.

Tell her to put her points in very precise and pointy manner. She isn't on a podcast with joe Rogen and luxury of 120 mins. Other than that, keep it up.

Many projects under BRI including CPEC were under pressure before Covid 19 struck and many countries were reviewing and scaling them down. The pandemic will easily cause additional delays rendering them even more untenable financially. This may lead to a new round of reviews of these projects by various governments.
