Just brilliant idea to use a jack to help place the intercooler into position as you need to mess with improvised hardware. #12 1 inch screws work great, used a small door hinge as a rectangular washer.
I didn't remove the front bumper and ended up cutting slits in the bottom cowl to fit in the new intercooler. This can be repaired with JB weld if it really bugs anybody.

Just bought a f33 and am loving this content. You were able to fit that CSF intercooler which I believe is 6.5” thick without modifying the front support brace? From a bimmerpost thread I read, it looks like I need to go with 5” intercooler or I’ll have fitment issues.
Hey, welcome to the F33 club! Glad to have ya :) No fitment issues at all with the 6.5 inch. It's a tight fit, but no modification needed.

Can someone please explain what the vacuum hose on the chargepipe does? Because it goes strait to the air filter intake tube. Does it not make the car loose boost as some of pressure is going strait in to the air filter pipe?
Appreciate the effort, but I have the same car and you can drop the intercooler out the bottom after removing two screws. No front clip removal is required. Likewise, the charge pipe can be taken apart in the middle and removed through the top or the bottom of the car. You likely could have removed the Z braces by simply removing the grill covers and reaching through to loosen, then removing them through the bottom once the intercooler was out.
Not sure how that's possible. The brace on the bottom completely blocks the intercooler and has to be removed. The stock charge pipe is one large plastic piece. There's no way to take it a part from the middle. There's not enough room to take the v brace out via grills. You could wrap them from there but not paint them. Maybe your car wasn't stock when you purchased it? Not sure. 🤔
Have you removed your rear headrests ? I did asitlooks betterwhen wind deflector fittex..what did you bung the holes with if so?? cheers

Noticeable difference in drivability from before and after? Got the same charge and boost pipe. Have you tuned it yet?
I did notice that the throttle response was a lot better with less turbo lag and just overall more smooth. I did tune it using BM3, just haven't done a video on that yet. Tuning made a HUGE difference. :)

Are you trying to bring it out from the top? How much of it have you gotten it out so far?
@fthirty3 I want to upgrade my F33 as well but I couldn't fit the aftermarket intercooler because of that lower V-brace, does it fit when I take it off first and then reattach it? I was reading some threads about this and people said the intercooler does not fit and that they might need to refabricate it..
Mine fit without issue, I did remove the lower brace before installing it. Maybe that's your issue? I can confirm that it does indeed feet though.

So if I have a 2014 435i Xdrive F32
I can go a bit more bigger for competition purposes, since we dnt have that plate ? … there’s a few out there a big bigger.
Yeah, you should be able to if you've got an F32. The F33's brace on the bottom restricts the size of the intercooler.

I have a 435 convertible like yours was it absolutely necessary to take the bumper off to install the intercooler? I saw many regular 435 installs and they didn't pull the bumper off.
It makes things much easier since you have to pull out a piece of ducting. I took the bumper off specifically though so that I could paint the vbrace. As long as you can pull out that duct work, than you should be good 👍
@@fthirty3 What was the best upgrade for power other than stage 1. performance CATTED down pipe stage 2 flash?
High flow cat for sure would help. That combined with the intercooler and charge pipe would get you to stage 2
Can I fit the intercooler in without removing the front bumper and the f33 v brace? Can I just do everything by jacking the car up?
You should be able to yes. I only removed the braces because I wanted to paint them. 👍

Does the f33 bring the vbrace only on 435? My 420 doesnt have it from stock
Thats a great question. I know the 428 and 435 have it stock. I looked up a few photos of the 420d and it looks like in the photos atleast that they also include the upper and lower vbrace. Did you get your f33 used?
@@fthirty3 it came to my hand used indeed. I need to check closer if it had or something. Should be visible in the attachment points.
You should see attachment points under the car. Even non f33 4 series models can accommodate this setup, so I suspect that you'll be able to install the lower plate and v brace without issue
