Steve Kerr wants that 72 game season so that his 73 win record can never be broken hahahah *he ain't slick*

In this NBA, nobody's going to try for that record anyway. Even the the KD Warriors didn't try. No one wants to risk their post season chances on it.
â@Andrew Keifer So how did the 72-win Bulls be able to win a ring in their record breaking season?
@@lakerfan2874 you seem as if you didn't read my entire post. What do you suppose I meant by "this NBA?"
The only thing is if they shorten the season most of the past records held will be impossible to break
Thatâs probably what most of the old players want lol

What about kentucky. Anyway i hope they reduce the total games played 82 is too much
For mid seasons tournament, i think FIBA and NBA should work together to make a tournament for all teams from North America like equivalent of Euroleague
That is a great idea
Yes they should
Thatâd be awesome!
Euro league vs Nba
Actual good idea
shot clock change and 4 point line are terrible ideas. The inseason tournament shortens seasons for teams that dont win it so it would still be theoretically possible for teams to break previous records but changing it to 72 makes it hard to compare with other all time teams and players in the future will complain about 72 being too long as well. Expansion teams seems interesting especially with the playin now a thing and how most teams have stars but the league already has a shortage of ultra talented teams which isnt a bad think but I think people are getting tired of some pretty mid championship teams in comparison to teams like the spurs, heat, big 4 celtics, shaq and kobe lakers, bull, showtime lakers and 80s boston celtics

You dont need a in season tournament . Bring DEFENSE back to the league and you ll draw more interest
82 games is not too many. If you shorten it to 72 then players will only play 55 instead of 65. All I keep hearing is that players today are more athletic and the sports science is so much better yet they can not stay healthy. Not to mention they play less back to back games than ever and they do not fly commercial anymore, they fly private and stay is the nicest hotels. The more accommodations you make the more they will want. Not to mention they get paid so much more than guys did back then, regardless of inflation. I donât believe that a lot of players love the game, they love what the game gives them.
Your contradicting yourself, the inflation of the world is why players get paid more, you canât disregard that, just like bills, prices on houses, groceries, taxes, gas ,etc all went up, thatâs just how lifeâs goes. Also do you really think the players are the ones making the decisions not to play? Not at all, i canât remember who said it but I remember a player saying they want to play but the team doesnât allow them I think it was Damien lillard I canât remember. But somehow everyone fault the players of what the league is doing.

Irrelevent points. The issue is not about how much players were paid in the past or how many minutes past players played. It's about continuously improving and evolving the game.

For a new team in Vegas, I think itâs gonna happen. We Have the Raiders for NFL, The Golden Knights for NHL, and now the Aâs for MLB, all we truly are missing is a NBA team. It makes a lot of sense for us to have a NBA team out here since Vegas is expanding so much as a city, and getting so many professional sport teams out here now. I already go to the summer league every year, so having a regular season of NBA out here would be awesome!

Seattle needs their team back before we start funding teams elsewhere

HELL NO TO THE NEW BALL. AND AS FOR 15 MIN QUARTERS -NO WAY!! This will make all in game records so skewed and easier to attain... FUCK THAT!! The game needs standarization throughout its history for historical context. IM SO AGAINST the shorter seasons, longer quarters, new ball, etc. HELL NO.
The need to allow hand checking and defense!
If they shorten the season the players still gonna load manage, a lot of them just want the check
Load management is from the doctors most of the time, not the players
loooool thats a pretty awesome observation bro, what would u be playing for at that point in your career? ?
@@AKalam-wp7wuFalse
This is awesome content! It is highly informative! Nicely done!
I liked the video. Brings a lot to think about the game. Some of the changes arenât surprising, but there are 2 potential changes that leaves me thinking.
1st, the shortening of the regular season , in itself doesnât seem bad concerning the load management of the top players. But if you create a new mid season tournament , and still want to play your top players, then what does it change in terms of load management? Unless you use this new tournament to rest some of the top players and promote the less used ones. But then fan viewership and interest may be affectedâŠ
2nd, this new ball, I would love to test it, because even though they say it has the same bounce and weight of a regular basketball, it has holes! How does this affect the spin of the ball, and how more or less spin affect the stability of the ball moving through the air (therefore how would the aerodynamics of this ball, full of holes, work)
How about a 65 game season with 15 minute quarters? It would equal out to 3,900 total minutes vs the current 3,936. This would make many records still attainable and although players would be putting themselves at risk for a potential extra 12 minutes per game, they'd get to lace up 17 fewer times and have more recovery days between games, possibly even eliminating back-to-back games all together.
I kind of doubt adding extra time in high intensity games is viable, but just a thought while watching this.
No
The objective of any business is to make money .. fewer games mean less money .. second from your comment I can tell you have never played basketball at a competitive level ..you have no concept of fatigue playing 60 min games at nba intensity ..

The problem with the in season tournament is that it counts for regular season. In soccer the multiple cups that are played during the normal season have no affiliation to the league standings.
Great video
The best way to end load management is to mandate a clause in every player's contract that takes away lots of money if they sit out without being deemed injured or too unhealthy to play. 72 games won't change anything.
If they simply reduce the Numbers of games like the leagues in europe, every game becomes way more important and the players are able to be at their peak in every game. I think they should reduce it to 45 games where they play a team from their conference twice and once a team from the other conference
Make the season 4 weeks longer, but keep the same amount of games.
A 4-point line would kill the NBA, there's already far too many 3-point shots taken.
They also need to bring back defense in the NBA and allow hand-checking again.
The league is doing everything they can to allow scoring to happen so maybe they should actually bring back the illegal zone defense rule and just make it a bunch of 1v1 on the court like it used to be.
A 4 point shot should be 35 feet out logo range. So fewer will take it.
Bring back traveling, if youâre old enough to rememberâŠ.
@@brianjones7660 So early 80s then?
5:10 , anyone notice that he put Ja when speaking about the shot clock đ
The only change that could get me to watch the nba would be a fire ball appearing for a player after they makes 3 consecutive shots giving them the ability to jump to the rafters on dunks!
If the NBA wants more people to pay for a ticket or watch them on stream or cable: 1. Make LeBron James retire. 2. Fine players for flopping. 3. Let players enforce defense. 4. Make the 3 pointer worth 1 point. 5. Refs need to back off when players snap at each other. We love to see the tense rivalries we enjoyed back in the 80s and 90s.
Donât forget to fine refs for missing obvious calls or unwarranted techs
A few of these changes would actively reduce their sales, doesn't take a genius to figure that out lol. But I agree I want rivalries back
the only thing u got right is 2 and 3
3 pointer worth 1 point.. what
@@a--...--.--45 Do you remember when centers were more useful than just being the tallest guy in the team that can shoot threes? I do. The three pointer has been overdone. All it does is inflate guyâs stats. Do you honestly think that Steph Curry could drive to rim like Charles Barkley and still win MVP? I think not. Would I like to see players that can drive to the rim and dunk on people? Yes.
Loving all of these
Can't wait for the moving basket!
A 72 game season is ideal tbh. I would honestly almost rather go lower but if it was too low records that were made in 82 game season would become almost impossible to break and youâd almost have to put an asterisk on every major NBA record in existence. 72 games would be reasonable though.
Man 10-15 on the roster are going to be balling out on the mid season tournament.
Shot clock is fine adding a 4 point line just gives me street ball or big 3 vibes msn leave that stuff to those other leagues or maybe do it in all star games
The mid-season tournament is ridiculous.
R.I.P. NBA
The 90's showed the way. The NBA's brand is on life support. I wouldn't let Fido watch it.
draft combine compulsivity will make 2k campaigns fun. don't think we've ever been in a combine before.
Woot, more games for stars to sit out. I also don't want a shorter season, make the season longer...
Just add a 1V1 to the All-Star Game.
Also, all of these CONFIRMED changes are literally to make their BASKETBALL players play BASKETBALL all season like theyre SUPPOSED to do.
The game right now has a great mix of half court sets and transition play. I feel like the shot clock change would hinder teams that run a more set half court offense.
Four point line feels pointless. Taking super long range jumpers rewards you already because teams arent defending you there. So if they want to shoot deep threes its a risk reward thing. If you add a four point line teams will just start jacking up bad shots too often.
Also that new ball is the dumbest thing i have ever seen and everyone will hate it if they ever implement that thing into the league lol.
LeMeMeMe wants a shorter season so his records donât get broken
I'm not even an LBJ fan but if you think he owns the NBA, you're nuts.
Wow that smart clip in a Celtics jersey felt like a kick in the nuts. I miss him
1:36 looks like my schoolâs stadium, UNT!!
Wow what a lot of changes!
ya man in from vancouver and losing our team plus seattle was so brutal
The issue I see with a shorter season is that ticket prices will drastically increase in prices
The NBA, with all of these changes in the recent past and other changes that are coming down the pike, is making it very easy for a new basketball league to take over professional basketball in North America
I love the idea of an expansion! Albuquerque would love a team. The 4 point line and new ball are really bad ideas. Keep with the classics
I actually like the idea of a Cup, of course it won't be as prestigious as the Championship, but in 1 match anybody can beat anyone, so a team that wouldn't be in the title race can achive something.
And the games will be fun watches cause teams will be playing seriously
The eligibility right out of high school, is specifically designed so LeBron can possibly play with both sons. I also wouldnât mind seeing different uniforms for teams to wear at their choice instead of being regulated so many times a year. Also maybe the 4 point line rule is designed specifically for the legend of Steph to become more iconic than he already is. As for the reduced time clock to 2 seconds less, doesnât really make a difference what so ever. Baseball pitching.. yes. Just my opinions.
The shot clock will make a difference when it's two seconds EVERY possession, that time adds up but I do kind of get what ur sayin. Also, the 4 point line is cool but I don't like it for the whole season, maybe just mid-season tourney to kind of try it out and see how it goes?
Hopefully expansion is announced soon
Iâd really like the all star weekened to be in the off season, I think there would be more defence if they knew they had some time to recover
Less games mean each game counts more, so this inherently leads to rethinking "load management." This would add to the possible reduction of injuries, thus helping to end this devious invention.
The league to lower the season to 1 game and players would still sit out
I would much prefer a specific area like a 4 point circle or square rather than a line. I think it would deter players from just jacking up 30 footers all game but still implement a 4 point shot. the real interesting thing will be fouls. If someone gets a 5 point opportunity thats a hell of a swing. would be very dramatic
The mid season tournament is the entire season Iâm watching NBA for the first time in my life
That's interesting that LeBron feels like that way about the season length, I wonder if he'll still feel like that when he owns a team
In regards to one of these issues, if you are a fan, and you buy a ticket to see someone play basketball, youâre buying a ticket to see a basketball game much less a particular play. If someone is legitimately hurt, you wouldnât be upset or bang your head on the wall because of it, but if someone is sitting out to take a rest, why should you be any less upset. The ticket is for the game and not for the player. Jayson Tatum could give less of a damn if he disappoints joe ticketbuyer from Minnesota when the Celtics come into town to play the Timberwolves because he wants to take a rest after he played three games in a row the previous week for 48 minutes apiece.
I have a great idea on how to even out competition. I would absolutely get rid of the NBA draft lottery and do the following. : I would automatically give the NBA champion of that season the rights to select the number one draft pick with option to give their statistically best player to the last place team in the NBA or keep the pick. All those in the draft lottery, San Antonio won the right to pick first, the Pistons statistically were in last place, they couldnât go wrong either way, but I donât think teams would purposely tank for the purpose of getting the best statistical player on the championship team from the finals. (I get that most championship teams never want to change the chemistry of their team, but it would definitely give tanking teams something to think about.)
I feel like the NBA is gonna go global in the future donât be surprised if you see a team outside North America soon
I've finally found your channel
an offseason tournament would be cool. no incentive, nothing crazy, just an elective thing, if youâre in the nba and bored in the summer and wanna give the fans a show, you show up.
As a 34 year old from western NY who never got to see the Braves play Iâd kill to have them back. Sadly itâs never going to happen.
Put the line farther away but donât implement a 4 point line
Seattle Super Sonics lets go!
Need to move the age up to 20 not move it back to 18.
Still at 19 so not sure where he got his info but he's wrong
Lowering the Draft age is a huge mistake. Many players don't work out and don't have a career in basketball even after being drafted. So, a kid with no college degree can have a much harder life. All player should be drafter after 21 years of age. That way they are physically bigger, have more court experience in college hoops and that will increase their chances of making the NBA once up for a draft pick. But, putting that carrot on front of an 18 yr. is pure selfishness by the NBA.
The All-Star games from the late '90s into the early 2000s were the best because those players still had pride
It's a shame you got to come up with a corny in season tournament to get millionaire nba players to play hard in the regular season. Talk about lack of competitiveness.
The nba is such a joke now I hardly pay attention to it.
What is your source on the 4 midseason trades per team? I'm trying to find more on it but I'm struggling to find anything about that rule change.
Most of the shit he said aint true
I would like to see the all star game turned into a 3x3 game, 4-5mall star players a team, knock out tournament.
NBA should have fewer teams make the playoffs (12, 6 in each conference), and give 1st round byes to top 2 seeds in each conference. This would make regular season more competitive and keep teams fighting until the end of season (trying to get the bye). I think 82 games is the right number though.
Man it's going to be weird but at the same time fun
Agreed!

Shorter season won't solve the load management. Load management itself is the cause of so many injuries. Because players rest so much, their body can't stay on a high level and can't adjust to playing hard. Paul George explained this well in one of his interviews based on his experience. And also, what about the rumor on giving technical fouls on players who flops?
Moves nowadays require so much more athleticism and fast sharp adjustments that cause insane levels of stress to be put on players.
Resting does not cause more injuries. Itâs the new style of play that causes new injuries
Not just in basketball but itâs the same thing that Shinei Otahni did. Once he increased his reps his body adjusted to it and he had less injuries going forward.
@@davidornelas3326 no disrespect to baseball, because mechanically its a much tougher sport imo, but to compare running up and down a court for 35-45 minutes every other day versus sitting in a dugout or standing out in the field for 10 innings is completely different

One little pet peeve I've had about the league, specically the finals was that they didn't actually put the finals logo on the court, they rendered it using the cameras. I get it's a cool advancement in technology, but it shouldn't be too hard to employ a few employees to actually put the finals logo on the court. It's so inauthentic, and the people in the arena can't see it either. It also looks kind of stupid when it's rendered, as they fade in late sometimes, and they stick out.

i think the all star game is a fun pause for the players
It would be cool to have a 73 game season. That way the record can still be broken without people having to argue âwhich team was better?â
ive thought about maybe a thing that can eliminate teams that have already lost enough games to be unable to make the playoffs. like when you hit 50 losses you dont play anymore games until the next season
If your favorite team is a contender then youâre likely in favor of load management because you likely care more about your team winning the title than having the stars out there each night. Shortening the season and maybe making it more difficult to get into the playoffs or at least to give the top seeds a bye might keep the stars on the floor more often.
Make all-star games more intense
If any city gets a team, Seattle is a lock. The commissioner has basically said so.
Of course Seattle is a lock but I want Kansas City and San Diego to get a team too
Players got to remind themselves not to bring politics or go on strike which sours it for the fans. The fans are the ones who really pay the players salaries. Keep the fans happy and the money will flow.
lowering the season length isnt going to stop load management lol it'll make it worse if anything

Yea but then the best team would get the first pick so parity would cease to exist and it'd just be the same Suoer team issue we had with GS vs whatever ream LeBron was on
