Sooo Im FINALLY getting back to my extra large diamond painting canvas I got for my birthday a few months ago. Since the canvas is so large I knew I needed to chip away at it slooowwwly and I thought this was the perfect time. I had already completed 2 other sections of the of the canvas totaling about 15 hours of my life (Ill never get back) before I realized I had already completely ruined my very large very expensive diamond painting canvas ... Im going to keep the canvas Im not sure what Ill do with it just yet but I cant bare to part with it ! And when in doubt for non sticky surfaces I use like a moist towel go over it let it dry a bit before continuing or just use diamond painting adhesive from Diamond art club helps put the stickiness back in your painting

If you get a straightening tool and go easy and slow you can straighten out the diamonds 😀
They sell glue that turns surfaces into diamond painting canvases. You could have fixed it with that. I know you got a new one though so I hope that one goes well. I do bigger paintings in smaller sections. It tricks your brain into thinking you’ve done more and at least for me reduces color fatigue.
I just found that out actually I was temped to fix it but my new poster was already on the way. I’m still super curious about it though I might still give it a try ! 😄💖 and I’m definitely doing smaller sections next time ! 😂😭
I use it to glue my spare diamonds on to wooden boxes to customize them. Thicker layer of glue is better than a thin layer. The glues very thin so it takes some getting used to. ❤️

i know it is too late now but incase it happenes again you can actually buy diamond painting adhesive/ glue so it makes your canvas sticky again! i haven’t personal used it but the one from diamond art club i heard was good ❤

the thing with it is that is a double sided adhesive instead of poured glue, and looks like it got styck to the paper you used to cover it
