  • Had an issue with the engine that was misdiagnosed and ended up doing the job twice but learned a lot for it in the process.

had the same leak on my audi as it approached 180k miles. Was losing oil like crazy. My mechanic replaced the housing. The oil cooler was just roughed on the edge so he skimmed it flat and it's good as new so far

I've got a troublesome leak up the front, middle area.
MOT garage said it might be the dip stick funnel, but that got replaced.
So, no idea - my friend will have a look.
I'm interested in your videos if you want to show people what you do

Is this the v8? I ask because I have a 2006 Audi S4 Avant with the 4.2 L V8 but this engine looks way different?
Maybe it's just because you have the head off or something? I'm confused! Anyways, as of a couple weeks ago
my car is suddenly leaking a TON of oil all over the damn place! Just kind of started out of no where and I'm not
sure why or what is exactly leaking yet! It appears to be leaking from the passenger side of the vehicle up around
the spark plugs on the left side of the engine. Seems to be dripping down below the car right around where the
the closest spark plug would be to you if you were facing the car with the hood open. I'm not great with cars by
any means when it comes to repair, or diagnosing etc. Are there hoses that run oil on these cars? Or is oil only
in the block and in the oil pan? Sorry if I sound dumb! I am dumb! At least with car repair! Someone help!

That's off the 2.0 turbo 4 banger engine but they all have an oil cooler system that I know of and they're all roughly the same style. I would imagine it's either the cooler itself or a gasket that's old and hard. I would check the valve cover gaskets first if it was mine.

Very common on All Audi cars. Very poorly designed. Major pain to removed just to replaced the gasket

Is there a reason why when I pull my dipstick out the engine runs harder

Yes, it's causing a vacuum leak when it's running.

I have an old 2005 Audi A4 2.0T. It could be fun driving. When it come down to repair/replacing anything that goes bad, it is a junk designed by a whole bunch of highly technical & obsessed g@#$ without common senses.
