I make little bags all the time but this has just opened a whole new world. Sewing those 2 seams before putting in a zipper makes life much more simple. I have used your idea with approx 3 inches of material to join the zip onto, then use either fiberglass fly wire or plastic to make the body of the bag. I can then use your zipper choices and your corner options. I'm "little bag mad" and have the most pretty and organised bathroom cupboards [lipsticks, podiatry and manicure items , eyebrow and waxing items, spare toothpaste and brushes, etc] preserving items box and first aid kit in my 'little bags" bags. Now I plan a whole new set for a friend and a cousin as gifts when we visit :) and will be using your lesson exclusively to make them. And I'll tell everyone, that I was taught by you on GourmetQuilter on You Tube because credit given where credit is due.

You're a great teacher! Following your tutorial, I was able to make 5 different-shaped bags in one afternoon. I appreciate the tips about checking that the zipper pull was open and in-between the side seams, zigzagging the edges, moving the needle back to the center position, creating height at the corners...you thought of all the mistakes super-beginners like me could make and prevented them with your clear instructions. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

I tried the technique and it's perfect. Very easy and amazing how fast everything goes together. I had squares cut already so I'm just playing around with the different sizes. I ended up quilting the top square with batting first and then proceeded with the side seams. What great gifts. Thanks so much for the great tutorial.

You are so talented! Thank you for this video, it makes me want to run out and buy some zippers to practice making pouches with! I'm a beginner sewer at age 63. My kids bought me a sewing machine but I had never used one before. I have purchased some material but never thought to get zippers to keep on hand because frankly, the thought of putting one in terrifies me LOL. This video makes me feel a little less intimidated so thank you. God bless!

I'm learning so much from you! I'M SO THANKFUL 💞💞 See After a brain injury I need to learn everything. I could handle a machine a fake a few things because of classes as a very young girl and my grandma showing me a few steps at age 11( I spent most of my time with a seamstress grandmother that barely allowed me in get sewing room. But ther very lil time I had with grandma she let me learn from everything.) I have gleaned so much the last three months. I gave seen this video or that bit always come back to you. I struggle with ther older ones , they're clear and nice but without up close on ther lil details I get truly lost. I don't give up and that said I've had a few lingering questions that I felt might make a few things fall into order giving me enough basic info I could do a couple things I wanted to try. When toy stopped to show the differences in the other bags from a reg bag pattern I almost fell over. I know it's ridiculous but my head though I have so much faith may not work as it used to even with the duvet therapy(crochet had been God's gift to restore speech, comprehension, and ability to remember anything at all. It's a struggle daily but im SSI extremely blessed and ther drs said no way. But we know who is our author, restore and the finisher of our fate😁 ❣ ) sry I Get so very zealous in my testimony I can't help myself) I digres. This lil time you took to share the others made something snap and now I want to play . It's been days since I've touched anything due to breathing troubles (pneumonia) but this lil bump on the head lolol no pun intended spurred me on to a GIANT SMILE AND A LIL EXCITEMENT I CAN'T WAIT. Thoug still not sure of most things lol I'll play joyfully. I did want to know if you have or would do a tutorial on a clear vinyl on one side larger bag with boxed, grocery bag bottoms. I've seen the flat pouches like your. Oh my gracious what I'd do flee the fabric with the red double decker buses and the zipper pull you added. I can't believe how much I fell in love with it. Just absolute wonderful and cuteness all zipped into one bag!!! I would loooove to make a larger bag with that fabric!!! Ok ok, sry just very excited. Hahaha YOU AND YOU FAMILY, HAVE A WONDERFULLY BLESSED EASTER!!!

I sew for charities, and one of the schools in a neighboring county needed some pencil pouches for the kids. I used your method to make 40+ to send over to them.. Of course I had to make several for friends and grandchildren as well. I am so happy I found this tutorial when I did. I will repeat when school starts again this fall. I might make a different shape this time. Quick and easy. Thank you!
