    Great video Cole! I really wanted the NYX mount but settled on the AM5 because the NYX was a lot more money. But eventually I want one of those. I saw it at NEAF and instantly loved it. Great job reviewing it. You went into great detail where others don’t. Sent you email on the cable routers!

    The new mount looks great -it moves your telescope around smooth & quiet!

    Great demo. I've been looking at this particular mount or the ZWO AM5 and haven't decided yet. The only thing I really dislike about these scopes, and I know this is a marketing thing, is the cases. They force you to fold it all the way back to Alt-Az mode to fit back in the case. My iOptron CEM70 is the same way. They make the case just large enough to fit the mount in its most compact state. Well, I live at 36° n and maybe travel one or two degrees north or south when imaging. That means I've got to fold the mount back down to 90° each time for it to properly fit in the case. Just a nit-pick of mine. I really like how quite the mount is. I believe that's the first video I've seen of it in operation.

    You bought new astro gear. Of course you also received the clouds, wind and rain. It's in the fine print. If you buy from FLO, they put a big old sticker right on the box letting you know :).
    Congrats on the new mount! I've had my eye on an upgrade for a while. Still rocking the old CEM40.

    Cool review! But I wonder there is no minipier. It will crash into the legs with the Filterwheel. (probably not for you as your dovetail plate is somehow extended to the telescope..)

    Great video! Looks like you’ve had the Pegasus Astro NYX for two months now … so have you discovered any problems with it? I’ve been considering purchasing the mount and tripod. I currently have the Celestron C-GXL and it’s corresponding tripod, but I’d like something lighter for travelling to dark sky sites.

    Hi mister.. Great video presentation. Many thanks.. I have please one question: how much star you must Align make, after you have the Polaris adjustment make? I will this mount buying, most for observing, and possible with the Nikon D850 picture make. At time I have one great AP1100 mount only encoder, but I don't will more used, are too big volume and heavy for transport out of landscape only auto. I have decided, to selling and buying me the Pegasus NYX-101 mount. At the moment, I used with the Astro Physics Traveler 105mm. , but later with the C11" XLT instrument. Thank you very much for your great video mount recension, I have must appreciate. Greetings from Switzerland. Bye.🙂

    Do you still have the NYX 101 I noticed you haven’t posted part two of the video with IT under A heavy load and using a counterweight
    I’m trying to decide between purchasing this mount or a losmandy G 11 G my rig weight is somewhere between 44 and 50 pounds

    Thank you for this nice video!!! There isn't a lot of feedback on this mount and it's nice to see someone take a complete tour of it.
    Will you give your, on the field, feedback ?

      Yes, that video is coming! I’ve only been able to use it two or three times since this video came out because of my weather. I will be releasing a video about the 2024 eclipse first, then my Mount review

    "Holy cow" - spoken like a man coming from an Atlas/EQ6 not hearing a strain wave mount for the first time.

    Nice presentation! Do you thing a C11, Reducer 0.7x, Focuser Baader Diamond HD, EFW/2600MMPRO would be ok for this mount? (and an AsiAirPlus) ? ;).

    • @ColeRees
      @ColeRees  Před 7 měsíci

      I haven’t tested it myself with tracking, but I believe it will perform quite well with a scope like that. I would expect decent tracking/guiding with that focal length.

    • @davidforcier4
      @davidforcier4 Před 7 měsíci

      Yes, it will be ok, but it would be required to use the aluminium tripod and a counter-weight (not for the motors, but simply to keep the whole setup balanced).

    What are you going to really use the unity app for

      I used it last night for 2 hours slewing to targets to test my a7iii. Very convenient. I know there are other ways but the basic hand controller app is good enough for most basic stuff.
