Xemnas: Heroes from the realm of light. I will not allow it to end this way. Not yet. If light and darkness are eternal then surely we nothings must be the same. Eternal. Riku: You're right. Light and darkness are eternal. Nothing probably goes on forever too. But guess what Xemnas? Sora: That doesn't mean YOU'RE eternal. Xemnas: Ha ha ha. No more eternal than that radiance of yours.
Agh, I love what they do with the music in this scene. It feels so hopeless, the King of Evil himself has finally found you enough of an annoyance to fight you face to face. The first part of it feels like you should just give in, let it consume you; but as the fight goes on, there's more. Shadows and Light creep into the Nothingness, tangible forms amidst the pure white. Hope, in the form of balance. A sudden influx of strength, and you go all out. You fight until what you think is your very last breath, until Death itself drags you away from the fight still kicking. And then... it's over. You've won. And a new path begins.
This version is more, filled with emotion, slow, dark, sad, reflecting the entire game and perfect for Xemnas. One of the best musics ever. All Themes of Xemnas are just too great. But this is Love
7 Year old me kept nearly dying by alternating one thumb between each button. 12 year old me smartened up and used 2 index fingers and flawlessly countered everything
+nube1oscuras i remember dying on that part so many times just because i had no idea you had to press X too aha, so it would only be riku who would not lose hp. When i beat Xemnas i still had no idea about it, i just healed right around his hp barrier when he did it and i hoped for the best.
Man. I still look back at this Battle, after You parry the lasers...Xemnas just comes up and lays ONE HELL OF A HIT on Riku man! First time I saw it, I was like, "GODDAMN!"
Took some digging but it turns out his name is Masatsugu Shinozaki from the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s credited to Masatsugu Shinozaki Group though, so apparently he leads a group of strings players who all contributed to the OST
***** Xemnas: Heroes from the realm of light, I will not allow it to end this way - not yet. If light and darkness are eternal, surely we nothings are the same! Eternal! Riku: You're right. Light and darkness are eternal. Nothing probably goes forever, too. But, guess what Xemnas? Sora: That doesn't mean YOU'RE eternal! Xemnas: [laughs] No more eternal than that radiance of yours... (Cues badass music)
Heir Yeah, but let us be able to play ALL the games. Kingodm Hearts 358/2 Days and Re:Coded were cutscenes that showed the entire story instead of letting us play them. That ticks me off since they were able to port Chain of Memories, a GAME BOY ADVANCED GAME, to the PS2. So why is it so hard to port two DS games to PS3 and 360?
To me, this music has a somewhat sad and depressing feeling. I could imagine this playing between two lifelong friends having to fight to the death when one has been corrupted with darkness and threatens to destroy the world, but he still has a thread of his true self. Even if you do beat him and save the world, you'll lose your best friend, the one you consider your flesh and blood, leaving behind a lingering sense of regret in your heart. Win or lose, you'll end up with something negative. Hell, this should play during the final battle between Naruto and Sasuke.
Heroes from the realm of light.... I will not allow it to end this way, not yet. If light and darkness are eternal, then surely we nothings must be the same... Eternal.
Once you get to this battle, it's almost like a relief. The four consecutive battles with Xemnas can wear you down a bit, and then you get this calmer music and a white setting. I love this fight.
this was my "cloud vs sephiroth" moment, you know that moment at the end of ff7? yeah I never got around to playing ff7, never was into jrpg's, but i can't deny that it had one hell of an impactful, engaging ending. in a void, just you, and the final boss.
Who also had this song running through their minds when he does his desperation *Etheral Dome* attack and you had to block everything??? Me:IT'S RAINING LASERS (Halleluyah) IT'S RAINING LASERS!!!!!
Songs with this melody include: Darkness of the Unknown (all parts) L'Oscurita Dell Ignotto (Darkness of the Unknown in Italian) Forze Dell Oscurita (combo of Forze Del Male and l'Oscurita Dell Ignotto) That's all I can think of right now...
This music is calm, totally different from what we are used to as a final boss music, yet, for those that played every single game that are prequels to this one, this music is perfect to make your emotions flow against him, and remember every single misdeed he has done against the main protagonists in those games. Maybe his line "Anger and hate are supreme." weren't thought up for the reason we first thought they meant, to express his idea of power, but to actually taunt the player?
Anger and hate...are supreme. We shall go together! Why don't you vanish? Can you spare...a heart? There's no such thing...as light! see, those could've been the best quotes I have ever heard in a video game, but the rest of the story managed to ruin them entirely. A mean, you had a villain with what could've been a tragic story about losing his heart and forgetting everything that he once was ("Unfortunately...I don't"), a fate which he is literally incapable of comprehending, and having only one solution to appease his own blank suffering, which results in his own destruction. What do we get? A generic evil guy... nice...
And what's even worse is that the music seems to emphasize that idea. I know everyone sees it as a hopeless tune for the player, but I'm the kind of person who saw it as a hopeless tune for Xemnas. Everything he did, *everything* is now gone. Nothing he did to get rid of you worked, and now he's left alone, in the void, unable to save himself from the empty pain that he's felt for who knows how long. He can't even *feel* that pain! Knowing that he's going to die hollow, there's only one more idea of consolation he can give himself: he can take you down with him.
It sounds like just about all of the fights with Xemnas have the Hazardous Highway tune in them. Which is AMAZING since Hazardous Highway is my favorite song from the game.
Xemnas: Heroes from the realm of light… I will not allow it to end this way-- not yet. If light and darkness are eternal, then surely us nothings must be the same. Eternal. Riku: You're right. Light and darkness are eternal. Nothing probably goes on forever too. But guess what, Xemnas. Sora: That doesn't mean YOU'RE eternal! Xemnas: Hehehe… No more eternal than that radiance of yours.
Still one of the best final boss fights in video game imo! Most of the time (especially in FF) the last boss is an amalgamation of all sorts of themes and emotions, but this, was quite the opposite. After going through everything, you fight the final boss in its base form and duke it out. All that pretense, all the build-up and it's just the final boss, you and your best friend. Then... the final boss traps the main character and you play the BEST FRIEND!?!?!?! HOLY SH!!!!! xD
I keep seeing a number of comments about the Riku part of the battle and I figured that I should mention that his copy basically goes in a straight line. Run up then go behind Xemnas. His double SHOULD be near you but won't be able to stop you. Dark Aura works if he gets too cliose to

Flaming Ahri all the reason why Aqua is the one who deserved to smack Xemnas into submission and return Terra to her.

still my favorite Kingdom hearts Boss theme & villain
Same it still hasn't been topped
will never be topped because it ends sora's and riku's arcs so brilliantly
Playing this theme while trying to get a gummi blueprint from Pinocchio having to exit and talk to him 30 times in a row. This is the real final boss
0:16 to 0:24 that tune is in just about every Terra/Xehanort theme.
